I frequent WISH every couple of weeks because of the GREAT Service from the beautiful people behind the bar, great music, the mixed crowd and the all around cool / relaxed atmosphere. This is a great place to meet friends after work, to go late night clubing or go alone and meet new and exciting people. WISH is not meant to be a dance club, this is place to be able to kick back and enjoy a few drinks with people in a really cool atmosphere. However, every now and then as it gets late into the night, dancing breaks out in the back by the DJ. This has definitely been a great addition to SOMA and SF for that matter. SoMa Needs Wish 11/27/2002

From the awesome staff (especially Isabel) to the Grey Goose L'Orange, Wish delivers. With .com departures, SoMa was lacking a cool place with a great vibe to hang out and groove with all the beautiful people. Wish brings some vibrancy back to the neighborhood with great drinks, good beats, and wonderful and warm management and staff. Check it out. I stopped in on Monday night for Solid - their weekly Monday party. It's awesome. The music is killer, they have great bar snacks and they do a Makers Mark monday - $4.00 anything you want with Makers...pretty cool. Pros: Beautiful Bar more

I hate crowds! That said I avoid Wish on the weekends, but if you want to chill try Monday or Tuesdays. I especially had a good time on Tuesday. The music made me feel like I was in ""Jackie Brown"", funky, funky, funky. Just had to write to say thanks for a good time. Wish is great for what it is. The weekend atmosphere is very different from the weekdays. If you want to dance, come on the weekends. The weekdays are great because they are chill and good to meet up w/ your friends after work for a cocktail. Service is great. Just what SOMA was waiting for. Everyone's a critic, I see. I have been to Wish a number of times, most recently this week for a night out bar hopping. This is one of my favorites - a quiet bar in soma (during the week) with great lighting, music, and bartenders. If you need to be entertained by lots of people watching, go to the Marina. Service is everything!! 8/25/2002

CitySearch makes it sound as if Wish is a dance club and it is anything BUT! Not dancing whatsoever, but you will find a really sweet bar. The service is really really good at this place and the bartenders go out of their way to give great service - not that normal snobbish attitude. I'll come back again and again, just for the service and the atmosphere! Thanks for a great night! more

Nice bar 8/25/2002

Wish is a really cozy bar with great lighting and good seating (as long as you get there early enough to get some seats). Good place to start your night when you're just looking to lounge a bit. The bartenders are super sweet and patient. There are lots of places to go dancing in this neighborhood, like Dna and 1015 Folsom, and the best sushi restaurant is across the street. Lame Bouncer!!! 8/22/2002

The bouncer at Wish is a relic from a lame 90s frat. I couldn't believe that the term ""sausage fest"" was used in the presence of some many attractive women. Perhaps he should return to his Sig house kegger routine as he certainly doesn't belong in any cosmopolitan city. I love this bar because it's just a bar. A good place to just come and hang. I've been coming here since they opened, and even though it's a lot busier now (on the weekends) the vibe is still the same. Fantastic people and a great energy. Girls Night Out! 8/12/2002

I have a new fave' place . . .Wish!! - we have been on weeknights and weekends and have yet to be disappointed. it's been low-key and mellow early in the week with a cute guy bartender. On the weekends it does get busy (line and all) my advice, get there early and avoid the wait. This past weekend was great (went both nights!) The 3 girl bartenders on Friday were quick but friendly. The doormen were also unusually nice . . .how rare. I will definitely be back to cause more trouble this week :P Pros: cute bartender, good service, good lighting Cons: line on weekends more

I love this little bar!! True, it's a small bar, but then again, what isn't in San Francisco. It has the best vibe, great music, and the nicest bartenders I've seen in a LONG time! Too crowded!!!! 8/2/2002

Damn, get a few good reviews in CitySearch and half the city is in line to get in at Wish. The place is small and kind of narrow, but has comfy wall couches and great bar space. The vibe and music are very good but just waaaaaaaaaaay too crowded. For most of the night I was wrestling past people to get to the bar, to get to my friends, to get to the bathrooms (only 1 per sex by the way), to get a seat on the overcrowded couches, and finally to get out of there...ugh. I would have had a better time if the place was more roomy. Pros: good music, quick bartenders, friendly staff Cons: difficult parking, overcrowded, can be a wait outside more
