Best

john s has given me the best haircuts of my life!

Worst

I am 13 years old and from Wayzata, Minnesota. I have gone to Twiggs three times in the past year for highlights & a haircut. The first time was last July, when I was getting high...

disgusted 5/12/2008

i am a professional hairstylist in slc, utah . i watch split ends all the time and there is almost always an ego on there that gives hair stylists a bad name but i have to say the Twiggs salon owner tops them all ! Let me say lady , you should really take some classes on hairdresser etiquette . You aren't as great as you think you are i would first off suggest getting a nose job after you get an attitude adjustment ! when they say 'stuck up' you give a whole new meaning to that term ! on top of that your so called 'razor cut ' is nothing new ! barbers have perfected that long before you did ! more

Best Haircut ever... 5/12/2008

I have been going to Twiggs SalonSpa now for over 2 years and Shauna cuts my hair. Its one time per month that i will always feel fantastic every time that I'm there and after i leave. Twiggs and Shauna are definitely worth it.... The staff are warm and friendly, I always feel good while I'm there. more

Horrible Salon 5/12/2008

I had the absolute worst experience getting my hair cut by the owner of Twiggs Salon! She is as she portrayed herself on Split Ends. more

Potential but only after some manner lessons 5/11/2008

The salon is alright but after watching split ends and seeing the tacky way the dresser dealt with people and was critical of everyone and thing I don't recomend them. I was asshamed of what came out of gucci's moms mouth. What could she have been thinking. If you have opinions its best to keep them to your self. Being in the fashion she should know image goes deeper then what is seen, its also the way you comunicate and and share yourself. Making others feel bad makes you ugly no matter how well you dress or hold yourself. To be be suave, gracious, sweet and sophisticated is a talent that is known and shared by the best and makes fashion desireable. Being critical and judgmental is not a talent but is you wearing your ugly. This salon needs some manners if they want to succeed. Pros: hair cutting (shaving) ok not the best but not bad Cons: poor manners more

Yikes! 5/11/2008

I don't have a lot to add that hasn't already been said other than to reiterate that cutting all hair with a razor is a really bad idea. Fine or bleached hair should not be cut with a razor unless you are looking for fuzzy ends. You wouldn't even groom every dog with the same implement so why would that be a good idea for human hair? Find a stylist who knows what is best to use on your hair AFTER looking at it, not before. :-) more

Rude service and bad haircut 5/10/2008

I was out in the boondocks and needed a trim so I gave this place a try. Rude service from a bunch of stuckup kids that had no idea how to do anything besides talk about how great they were. The haircut was equal to something I would get at great clips. Pros: easy parking Cons: everything else more

YOU GIVE MINNESOTA A BAD NAME 5/10/2008

I am watching Split Ends on Style network right now, and your shop does not give Minnesota a good name. I have been to some of the best salons in Minnesota, and yours is not one that I would ever frequent. What ever happened to Minnesota nice? Maybe you should all get off of your high horses and join the rest of the people in Minnesota that aren't self centered, egotistical, and feel that they are better than the rest of the population. When my clients ask for recommendation for salons, yours will never be one of them. Pros: there are no pros to this salon Cons: everything more

I love my new look 3/24/2008

I had a bad experiance about 6 years ago at another salon and had to have my hair cut from the small of my back to my chin and have not been able to grow it out again. I talked with 4 different salons about hair extensions and decided to go with David at twiggs salon. On the first visit (to talk about extensions)he was the most knowlagable about them and even showed me some extensions he had done on a fake head so I would know exactly what to expect. I am really picky about my hair and get nervous about having it changed. David was really good about informing me of what to expect, listend to what I wanted to end up with and honest about what would look good and what may not. We decided to do extensions to my lower back(from my shoulder) and set a date to put them in. While I was waiting for my appt. to have the extensions put in, I had a few questions I had forgot to ask on my first visit to talk to him. I called the salon a couple different times to ask the ?'s. Each time the staff was really freindly and took a message. David called me back himself (in a short amount of time) to answer my ?'s. Still impressed. The day we put the extensiond in (I had A LOT of extensions put in so it took awhile) he was just about to the min. of how long I could expect to be there. Again impressed. I thought the salon was a clean and well presented place to feel comfortable in. I would not trust my hair to people if it looked like they didn't know how to do their own. NOT an issue at Twiggs. The whole staff was dressed nice and looked great! When the extensions were being put in David made sure to tell me about how to take care of them(very easy to do) and gave me some great tips on styiling. When they were done I was really pleased at what a great job he had done. I have gotten nothing but comliments from everyone. My family loves it. Ladies have stopped me at stores to ask me where I get my hair done. I was really pleased with the salon, the staff and my new hair! Thanks Pros: Great hair style, parking, friendly staff more

Could they be any RUDER???? 12/22/2007

Wow---for a supposed ""classy"" salon, this place has a long way to go. Just getting someone on the phone is a hassle! After multiple attempts to schedule services at this salon over the past year, I am fed up with their attitude, wait time, and lack of customer service. I have a gift certificate that I would have loved to use, but clearly they don't care about new customers. WHY would anyone go there? I expect more than that from a Wayzata spa, but I guess money doesn't quite buy you everything! Pros: nice web page Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE more

Poor Service! 12/1/2007

I received a $50 gift certificate for my birthday to go to this salon and get my hair cut. Not only was the stylist unpleasant, but she did not listen to anything I said. I walked in with a picture of what I wanted and asked to 2-3 inches off. She cut off 5-6 inches! She also asked where I parted my hair and then preceded to turn the chair away from the mirror and part it on the other side. A re-cut was offered, but every time I attempt to do my hair I cry because it's ruined. Pros: Well known, close parking, very pleasant receptionists Cons: Cost, Skill, Service more

Worst Service 7/18/2007

On hold for 15 mins to book consult. At the salon, kept waiting 25 mins - by what turned out to be the owner. Never acknowledged that she'd kept me waiting much less apologize for it. Proceeded to tell me how expensive her salon is and how much I would be paying (without actually giving me a price which is what I was there to get). After this finally told me SHE wasn't the person I should have booked with, and kept me waiting longer for her nephew to become available to talk to me. All the while telling me I should change my hair colour (and how that would be very expensive as well) and let them do my brows and lashes (didn't come in for a colour consult, don't want to change my colour -- she didn't listen to that though). One of the biggest wastes of my time ever. I wouldn't go back to that salon if they offered the services for free. Expensive isn't a problem, but I'm not paying to be treated so poorly and inconsiderately! Pros: parking Cons: prepare to wait (on phone & in person), don't expect to be listened to or treated well, music too loud and too techno more

favorite cut 7/6/2007

I just moved to minnetonka and was recommended to Twiggs by a co-worker. I didn't want to step on her toes and go to the same stylist, so I called and got in with CJ. I couldn't have been more pleased! She actually listened to me! I told her what I wanted and she made a few suggestions on how to update it so I looked hip but ""didn't look like I was trying to look 20"". It's my favorite cut I've ever had (and trust me I've had a few) and the color's great too! Not only that but she's the cutest dang thing you've ever seen too. The only thing off was it was a little weird that she did a cut on someone while my color was sitting. Very satisfied! Thank you! more

Stay away from Twiggs Salon 6/25/2007

I have been searching for a new salon since my favorite stylist moved from Minneapolis. I decided to give CJ at Twiggs a try based on reviews on this site. Big mistake. First and last time I will spend money at this salon. I was very dissatisfied with the my cut - much longer on one side that the other - and did not get any satisfation when I called to express my dissatisfaction. Some of the ""extras"" included in your cut like wax dip and mini-massage are nice, but in no way make up for a bad stylist. Pros: complimentary wax dip Cons: bad stylist more

Diminishing Level of Service 6/13/2007

Twiggs is a modern, visually pleasing salon, Acoustically it can be very loud, not at all helped by the music which can be too loud and at times, simply annoying with repetitive shrieks of something just a bit too cool for anybody but the hearing-impaired. Pros: parking, mini-massage and parafin treatment, visually attractive space Cons: loud, often rushed, surprising bills more

Just okay 12/23/2006

I had a cut here recently. My stylist was pleasant and did a nice job styling it. It wasn't the one of the best salons I've been to but it wasn't bad either. The lighting was alittle disturbing and I'm not sure if there is a lot of creativity going on here. I'd say just okay-no wow factor but no bad hair either. more

Once you get there, service makes up for phone personnel 12/5/2006

If you can make it past the fact that you get put on hold for 3 to 10 minutes (yes, I've timed them!) EVERY time you call to make an appointment... the service you get from the actual hair and nail staff is fantastic. Knowing that I hang up and don't make appointments on 75% of the calls because of the hold time, I wonder just how many people never get through. The best back-end staff in the world is useless if you can't make an appointment! Pros: Hair technicians and nail technicians Cons: Being put on hold for anywhere from 3-10 minutes every time I call to make an appointment more

*Highly Recommended* 10/16/2006

I have been getting a cut and colored at Twiggs going on 4 years. I found out about the salon by noticing a ladies hair while shopping one afternoon. I asked her where she got her hair done and she highly recommended Twiggs and a stylist named C.J. I have been going ever since. Pros: Quality of Service, Parking Cons: The music is too loud sometimes, miss the local artwork more

I highly recommended Twiggs for all your hair salon needs! 6/26/2006

I have been getting my hair professional colored for over 15 years now. I spent 14 years going to the same company but was in a pitch right before my wedding and went to Twiggs off a recommendation. They totally came through for me! I have never had so many people comment about the color or my cuts then I have after visiting Twiggs. Nichole D is magnificent; I use her every time I go in now and I only go to Twiggs now. I love the extra little massage, how she can remember things we talked about the last time I was in and how great my hair looks when I leave. They really do know how to take care of you. The makeup touch ups, mini massages, and paraffin hand dip (winter months) are all extra bonuses that are free with the service. It is a little weird that they have you sit (with foils) and work on someone else because they are so busy each day. I didnt feel like I was being ignore or anything, just different. You need to speak up about what you like or dont like at times or they tend to do what is in fashion for haircuts at the moment for whatever your face shape is. But they always talk with you before cutting or coloring your hair and they do listen if you tell them what you want. It is costly if you are used to Great Clips for a haircut but worth every penny trust me and a little less then other normal salon in town when it comes to foils and eye brow shaping. Check Twiggs out you wont be sorry. Pros: Easy to get to, Lots of Parking, Coffee & Bakery next door Cons: Not open Mondays, Helping others while you wait, Weird wash "tables" more

Erin is great! 2/15/2006

Erin cut my hair, she did a great job, it was exactly what I asked for. The price was right at $30 and this included a mini massage! Pros: Inexpensive, Massage included more

Wonderful! 1/13/2006

I was recently in Twiggs and found the atmosphere to be just what I wanted. I did see a Mpls/St. Paul ""celebrity"" getting their hair done by David, who is just wonderful. The staff is very knowlegdeable about everything - even the nail techs and massage therapists! They took care of ME, which is something I don't find very often. I loved my massage with Sarah and my toes are so pretty thanks to Heidi. If you haven't tried them out yet, PLEASE do! Pros: knowlegdeable staff Cons: music too loud more
