Barbara is a FANTASTIC colorist 2/11/2007

I have been to all the top salons in Chicago, and I found Barbara at the Trio on Wabash and Chicago - what a gem. She has been my colorist for the last year and I won't let anyone else color my hair. Today you would never guess that I came to her with broken, over-processed hair. I love her work so much that now that she has transferred to the Evanston branch of Trio Salon, I will be traveling up there to see her. Besides her impecable work, Barbara is very personable and down to earth - a rare combination in my experience. I can't rave enough - go see her and you will understand!!! so very overrated 1/31/2007

i'm not sure why this salon is highly rated. i've gotten enough cuts at top salons to know whether the stylist knows what s/he is doing. unfortunately, i lost my regular stylist and have been looking around. i knew the moment the stylist started cutting that she was inexperienced (rough touch and slow) and didn't have much, if little, experience with my type of hair texture. what was even more scary was when she used a flat brush to dry my hair straight. i will stop there although there's a lot more to say...... The best hair-cut that I have ever had! 10/9/2006

I was skeptical after reading all the good reviews online about Trio. Since I came to the US, I have never had a hair-cut that I enjoyed. They were all disasters including one big spending in a famous salon in NYC. I felt that I was not able to find a stylist who can deal with typical Asian straight hair well. However, thanks to Robyn at Trio Evanston! I feel great about my new look!! more

Well-Educated, Professional Stylists 9/5/2006

After such great reviews about the staff at Trio, Evanston, I just had to check out if this salon was the ""real-deal."" This is not a hosh-posh salon--yeah! Everyone is down-to-earth and approachable. :-) I had booked my appt for a haircut with Rosa and color with Kat. Not only were both ladies talented they were hospitable to boot! I had not had a hair cut since April, and just was utterly lost, thankfully Rosa evaluated my hair type (slightly wavy) and came up with some great suggestions that would suit wearing my hair both wavy or straight. Her precision cut added volume and movement to my hair--that I never thought would be possible! Rosa's haircut gave my hair more mobility and complemented the shape of my face. As for color, Kat took a systematic approach in how I could slowly soften my hair color (I came in with Florescent yellow hair) after she thoughroughly explained what she had in mind, I was psyched. The final result...fabulous, multi-faceted, hair color complementing my skin tone and cut. She's a dream come true!! I came home from the salon, and my husband was so delighted! He said, ""After 3 years of switching salons...you finally got it right!"" I couldn't agree more! I'll be seeing both Rosa and Kat in the future!!! Thanks gals!!! Pros: staff, Best colors and cuts! Cons: hmmm....none! more

renata is the best 9/4/2006

renata is an amazing colorist. i only go to one person for my color, but being in chicago for the summer meant that i would have to venture out. renata was awesome! she asked a lot of questions to make sure that i was comfortable with what she was doing. honestly, i was obsessed with how good she made my hair look and she totally took the time to do it properly so that it complemented my newly cut hair. you have to go to renata!!! i promise you won't be disappointed. more

Okay, so Ive been to 14 salons in my 7 years of living in Illinois.. whew! I think my search is FINALLY over for a good stylist and colorist! Robyn is the bomb with hair.. very good listener and one of the best cuts Ive ever had! Kat did great color and highlights and is also very insightful and creative! The salon is hip, trendy and upscale. The staff is the friendliest Ive come across! Very accomodating! I love this Evanston location! Make a visit to TRIO you wont be sorry! Robyn is Excellent! 4/3/2006

I have had Robyn as my stylist for two years now and couldn't be happier. If you want a cut or a style that is truly yours and easy to manage ... she is for you. I have given her many challenges and everytime she has come through with an amazing finish. I've never had a better haircut or stylist! more

Rosa is BRILLIANT! 3/25/2006

I moved to Chicago from N.Y about 9 months ago and I went to Rosa based on a recommendation by a woman I stopped on the street (I could not help myself, I loved her hair and at this point I haven't found a good salon). The salon I went to in New York is a very well known, high profile salon, so my expectations are high. Well, Trio & Rosa met my expectations. Rosa is aware of style and she educated me on a few things, she is a step above the rest, a true gem of a stylist. It's hard to find REAL talent! p.s.I couldn't get in right away, the receptionist recommended someone else when I called, Rosa is worth waiting for. Edda my stylist rocked. 3/23/2006

This is my favorite hair cut to date. I'm 41 and have had my hair done in other cities and countries- Paris, London, NYC, LA, Houston, Dallas and here in Chicago- in famous salons and by famous stylists, and they have been fun or pretty good - I am a tough customer, I have had the best luck with my random sampling of stylists with Chicago Trio - I call Chicago home, and Trio's new stylist Edda did the best job to date of understanding and interpreting me - I am delighted as my cut is hip without being too trendy, sassy and follows my proportions beautifully. This is the second time she has cut my hair - I usually give someone two tries to get it right - and voila! I will be back! more
