Phillip, the owner of Trio [Evanston] is a master artist who has a unique gift for helping every client pick the perfect combination of color, intensity, and style! If you want to go from boring brown(me naturally) to vivacious, natural looking summer blonde, Phillip is your man. Philip has the breath of experience, training and talent to choose the right color if you need help. I'm always very impressed with how Philip transforms his other clients as well. I'm almost 49 and I still get carded!!--the long blonde locks made me look so youthful and feel beautiful. I've been a loyal customer of Phillip for over 27 years, following him from Vidal Sassoon to Trio and everywhere in between. I wouldn't trust my long blonde locks to anyone else! Even after all of these years, Phllip still takes time every visit to inspect my hair and ask me if there is any issue we need to address. The salon atmosphere is very friendly, easy-going but professional. Philip and the staff make me feel very much at home. You will too. more

Best experience of my life!!! 8/5/2010

I have been wearing my hair short for nearly 20 years now and for years I have always felt that I never have walked out of a salon with a ""style"". I visited many salons on line and read many reviews and decided to go with Trio in Evanston. The gal on the phone was extremely pleasant and when I told her of my past experiences, she gave me an option of $$ I wanted to spend and decided to go with Katharina! Katharina was not only super personable, the cut she gave me was fabulous!!! Katharina was very pleasant, friendly, we clicked right away! My hair cut was a work of art!!! She took her time, told me what I can look forward to going forward and I cannot wait to go back!!! As long as Katharina is at Trio Salon, I will continue to go back forever!!! While I am at it, the staff was fabulous, the salon was very very nice and I was comfortable the minute I walked in....Thank you so much Trio!!! I'll be back and that's a promise! more

Chicago's Girls.. You now have a stable salon to go to! 6/20/2010

I've had the same haircut for a couple years now and I just scheduled an appointment for a quick trim with Robyn Schwartz. I'm planning on keeping a little length to my hair but I was in desperate need for a touch up. In what seemed like a couple minutes my hair was lighter, bouncier and styled with only removing about an inch. I love my haircut because not only did I get what I wanted but I got more! She took my usual haircut and made a tiny change with my bangs that really made ALL the difference. I'm getting plenty of compliments and without much physical change it's boosted my confidence too. The process was really relaxing and light hearted.. I didn't think I could have fun getting my haircut.. but now all my future cuts will have this one to live up to! Pros: Great communication! Great experience! Great Results! Cons: No cons. more

Trio Salon 6/19/2010

I went to Trio about 4 years ago because a friend told me that I needed to find a stylist I could trust. I had had bad experiences with my very straight hair. Flaws show. I also like to change the style pretty often. Robin cut my hair the first time I went and I haven't had another stylist touch my hair since... She heard what I was saying and made sure she understood my request. Whatever I have asked for... she's been able to deliver. One less stress factor in my life!!! Pros: staff is great! more

Trio Salon 6/19/2010

I went to Trio about 4 years ago because a friend told me that I needed to find a stylist I could trust. I had had bad experiences with my very straight hair. Flaws show. Keratin Treatment 2/24/2010

I recently had a Keratin Treatment done by Barbara and my hair looks FANTASTIC! I've had a keratin treatment before at another salon, and it didnt turn out at all. Barbara was doing my color and assured me that the treatment would work on my hair how she does it, so I tried it and it has changed my life! I have a new head of hair!! Its silky and FRIZZ FREE without any of the work! I didnt know it was possible on my hair. Also, I didnt have to wait DAYS to wash my hair after getting the treatment like at the other salon. I'll definitely be back! Pros: Excellent results and customer service! more

Barb is a fantastic colorist -- I highly recommend her! 4/1/2009

First thing is the great scalp massage they give to EVERYONE who has a shampoo -- fabulous! Overall, they have great service, are customer-focused; and have skilled technicians. Barb, especially, has been my colorist for several years now, and I wouldn't go to anyone else (unless I absolutely have to!). Her sense of what hair color looks good with my skin tone and eye color has been incredibly valuable. Pros: Really comfortable salon; friendly people more

Great North Evanston neighborhood salon with downtown Chicago-quality services 2/15/2009

Since moving out to Evanston from the city a couple of years ago, I've had a hard time finding a salon that offered all the services I was looking for in a up-to-date but relaxed atmosphere. Thanks to some great reviews on City Search, as well as a good location (lots of parking and right across from the Central METRA stop), I stumbled onto Trio, and I love it. Jessica is a fantastic colorist at a great price, and Robyn is such a good stylist that I was comfortable enough to ask her to 6 inches off my hair. They both do a fantastic job each and every time, and the price is definitely right! ($100 for double process color and $70 for the cut) From the friendly staff at the reception area, to the great (and importantly not too loud - I like to relax when I'm getting my color done, not rock out!) music, to the great selection of hair products, I can't think of a single area of the salon that I'd improve. And one thing I like best is being able to schedule appointments online (www.triosalon[dot]com). I don't always think about it during business hours, so it's great to be able to book services any time of the day or night and see all the available times to choose from. Pros: Great Ambience, Friendly Staff, Appointment Booking 24/7 online Cons: No services beyond hair; would love if they added mani/pedi services! more

Trio: Robyn is fabulous! 11/23/2008

Robyn has been cutting my hair for nearly three years now. The first time I entered Trio, I was slightly nervous about having my hair cut. by someone new. However, Robyn did an amazing job that first time and has continued to make my hair look awesome since then! Not only is she talented, but Robyn is a wonderful person too. I do not feel like I am just another client. Robyn makes the experience fun and stress free. When I have a special request, she listens and the end result is a great hair cut. She gave me suggestions for my wedding day hair and has helped me look fabulous for various other events too. I want to also add that the other staff at Trio are fabulous too. They run a very organized operation and make the experience very nice for the customers. more

OMG! ROSA IS THE BEST! 11/19/2008

I've been seeing Rosa for a while now and I cant even explain in words how she makes me feel. My hair was down past my chest and I had to cut my hair really short for a show so I felt so insecure and masculine. The moment I went to Rosa I felt like myself again. She made my short hair look so cute and edgy, I felt stylish and high-fashioned. I got compliments left and right everywhere I went. Once my hair started growing in I was in the phase of wanting my hair really long again so not only did Rosa cut my hair but she also can gave me long hair. She is the extension master. I mean you couldnt even tell I had extensions. It lasted about 5 months and very easy to take care of. She knows Im a hair junkie so shes always open and so willing to all my request. No matter how short or long I go, Im ALWAYS happy with her work. Its amazing how a stylist can make me feel amazing and good about myself. I highly recommend Rosa for just a trim, a dramatic change, or extensions, whether you have straight, wavy, or really curly hair. With her talent you just cant go wrong! more
