Trio is a fantastic salon... the atmosphere is very inviting, everyone is friendly and helpful, and it generally just has a good energy about it. My haircuts are always satisfying because of the cut and the attention and care I receive. I love looking forward my haircuts :) more

Best Haircut I've had in a while 7/23/2007

I just went into Trio and got a great haircut from Robyn. She came highly recommended from others that have visited this salon. My last few haircuts were pretty disappointing and left me with awkward out growth. I wasn't sure what could be done to fix my hair, but Robyn knew exactly what to do. She cleaned up all the weird angles and made me look stylish. For the first time in a while I am really happy with my hair! Robyn takes the time to listen to your concerns and you leave her chair feeling like a new person. I would highly recommend going to Trio in Evanston and requesting Robyn for your haircut. more

Best Haircut I've had in a while 7/23/2007

I just went into Trio and got a great haircut from Robyn. She came highly recommended from others that have visited this salon. My last few haircuts were pretty disappointing and left me with awkward out growth. I wasn't sure what could be done to fix my hair, but Robyn knew exactly what to do. I would highly recommend Barbara for color and Robyn for cuts. It's a 45 minute drive to Evanston for me, but it's definitely worth it. My hair is fine and straight. Left to its own devices, it tends to look limp and flat. Robyn and Barbara do exactly what you ask of them, and if you don't know what you want, they'll give you good, sound advice. It can seem a little pricy, but it's no pricier than any other salon of equivalent quality. It has just the right balance between hip/trendy and comfortable/personal. Tamara and Robyn make a great color and cut team! They consistently make me feel like I am their only client, as they actively listen and offer wonderful suggestions when I ask them. People stop me on the street and ask me where I get my hair done. I am very proud to say that I have a great team at Trio Salon! I don't feel the artist on the wall 5/15/2007

I had a consultation with Barbara today for the japonese straightener. She seems to know what's she's doing. The only regret I have is the atmosphere. There is absolutely no taste in the decoration and it has been poorly (or quikly) done, I could notice that before the greeting of the receptionnist. I was sit in a chair in the middle of nowhere, like in a train station, really. I know it might be a detail for some but the atmosphere make a lot for me. It reflect the artist you are, no matter if it's in hair or nails or whatever. I'm french maybe that's why. Anyway I still don't believe that I had to drive an hour to see that. For the price and the location, they should hire an interior design. II never tried the service at RED 7 Salon in evanston, but I went there to buy a shampoo and they definitevely anderstood what style means on there wall. That's a good beginning. I'll have to check it out. more

Great haircut and free advice! 4/26/2007

Edda is my favorite stylist at Trio. Her secret is that she used to be a coach, so she knows how to listen and be with people. She not only listens to your ideas and then collaborates on making your hair look great, she also listens to your woes and gives you great coaching. She's definitely worth the trip to Evanston. Pros: Great staff and quality haircuts Cons: Great for Evanston residents, tougher for city folks to get up there more

I've got very thick hair and Shelly at the Wabash Trio knows how to ""debulk"" it as I call it. Not only did I get a great cut, but she fine tunes it with razoring for a perfect finish! After reading the reviews at citysearch, I decided to give it a try. But I was pretty disappointed. The hair cut is so ordinary and it doesn't give me what I wanted. The way the hairstylist cut my hair I can tell, she is not a ""master"" stylist for charging that amount of haircut price. Totally not impressed. Now I have to search for another one. Hopefully, not too many of the reviews are done by their ""friends and family"" and are valid enough. more

Barbara is a FANTASTIC colorist 2/11/2007

I have been to all the top salons in Chicago, and I found Barbara at the Trio on Wabash and Chicago - what a gem. She has been my colorist for the last year and I won't let anyone else color my hair. Today you would never guess that I came to her with broken, over-processed hair. I love her work so much that now that she has transferred to the Evanston branch of Trio Salon, I will be traveling up there to see her. Besides her impecable work, Barbara is very personable and down to earth - a rare combination in my experience. I can't rave enough - go see her and you will understand!!!
