I would highly recommend Barbara for color and Robyn for cuts. It's a 45 minute drive to Evanston for me, but it's definitely worth it. My hair is fine and straight. Left to its own devices, it tends to look limp and flat. Robyn and Barbara do exactly what you ask of them, and if you don't know what you want, they'll give you good, sound advice. It can seem a little pricy, but it's no pricier than any other salon of equivalent quality. It has just the right balance between hip/trendy and comfortable/personal.
