I found Strata when I was searching for a hairstylist that not only understood ""wash-n-go"" style but could also cut a wash and go style. I don't even use a hairdryer so I am a challenge. A style with Annie starts with a scalp massage. While you are melting in her hands she asks what you like and don't like and she gets familiar with your hair texture, etc. Annie is a gem and has gotten more out of my hair through a cut than I ever thought possible! She's ""evolved"" (as she likes to say) my style but every evolution has maintained my desire for wash and go to perfection. And her styles hold through the grow-out period. She's never given me a cut that looks/acts great for the first few weeks and then becomes difficult or just doesn't look right. Pros: Comfortable, relaxing and works as described more

For twenty five years I have hated my hair and for almost as long I have been looking for some one to change my mind. Two years ago my best friend took me to Strata on my birthday for a girls day. We knew nothing about the salon, just that she passed it on her way to work and was curious about the skill of the stylists. Let me tell you, that was the first day I have ever walked away from a hair cut with a smile on my face. Mel sat with me to talk about style and the mistakes I was making with my hair. She has cut and colored me into love with my hair. As long as Strata and Mel are around no one else will come close to my hair. I have had to start carrying Mel's business cards in my bag because so many people comment and ask about my hair that handing out her card became easier than writing out her info every time. Being a mom there are times when you don't know that you can work in a hair cut until that day and Mel always works to get me in. She is truly the best. The atmosphere inside Strata is amazingly relaxed while still maintaining the salon feeling. There is no where else to go for a cut and some pampering. I am a busy mom and part of what I look for in a salon is comfort, relaxation, and explanation. I received all this and more at Strata salon! Amanda was amazing and gave me the highlights I wanted and easy, stylish haircut. For the first time in years I feel completely satisfied and cannot wait for my next appointment! Well, what can I say? Amazing!!! Jen and Chere are the most amazing stylist, are very honest and creative. I live in Seattle and I travel to Spokane to go to Strata and get my hair cut and colored every 3 months. These girls are so great. I have never had a bad expierence and I wish Icould have them here in my area. However I can't so It is worth it for me to drive to them. more

I just recently moved to Spokane from Vegas, and was worried about finding a salon with Vegas skills. After trying 3 salon's i gave up until i heard about Strata Salon from a coworker. So i gave it one last shot, and boy let me tell yeah Chere and her team R.O.C.K! I am overly pleased with her service and hair styling capabilities! since i've been going to strata i have gotten so many compliments about my hair! i keep sending people from work in there too, and now we all have the cutest hair ever. they do such a great job every single time! not only are they great stylists, but they are all really sweet, down to earth girls. that's one of the things i appreciate the most. i've been places where they are total snobs and still expect you to fight for an appointment. or worse, don't listen to how you want your hair cause they obviously know more about hair than you do. but at strata, they will sit there with you until you are on the same page before getting started everytime. that's why i've always left ecstatic about my hair. i would recommend that everyone go to strata cause i want people to feel as good about their hair as i do! BEST SALON SPA IN TOWN. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE! CHERE IS A GREAT HAIR STYLIST AND ELECTROLOGIST. SHE TRAVELS A LOT TO KEEP HER SHOP ABREAST OF ALL THE NEW HAIR STYLES AND PRODUCTS USED IN THE SHOP. Wow! I am from San Diego and was in Spokane for a month. I needed to update my color so I went to Strata. I was worried because I have long blonde hair and I wasn't quite sure if a Spokane hair salon was any good. WELL STRATA COLORED AND CUT MY HAIR AMAZING! Better than my hair stylist in San Diego. I am totally into style and Strata definitely knew what they were doing. I went to Mel (fricken awesome!) and she kept me totally entertained. They color with Tigi products (you know Bed Head, etc) so they know good products. They don't pressure to buy any products but they do have a good selection. They have an awesome barber set up. My boyfriend saw and now he wants to get his haircut there. There prices are good. I got a full highlights and a haircut for $120. With long hair, that's an average price so I can't complain. A friend and I came in from out of town for a high school reunion. We both got massages and facials. The service was great. It was a relaxed and friendly atmosphere that made us feel comfortable The massage was one of the best I've had -- and I've had quite a few. The prices are very reasonable, too. Strata Salon is the premier place to go if you are looking for great service and a relaxing environment. I have recently moved to the Spokane area and had absolutely no idea where to go to get a great new haircut. After reading the reviews online I thought the day spa was too good to be true, but I went ahead a set up an appointment. Not only does the salon offer a military discount, they plug your meter and listen to exactly what you want. After having a nightmare haircut in the past I know what it's like to leave a place wanting to put on a hat for two months, but at Strata Chere listened to what I wanted and then gave me pointers as to what would look best. She also told me exactly what she was doing step by step, so I never got nervous about all the hair that was falling to the floor! I highly recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for a first time haircut in Spokane or for anyone looking for a new look. While I was in and explaining my situation about not knowing where to go, the girls in the spa mentioned that they have several clients comment on how expensive the high end salons are in town - high end? To me, Strata is a high end salon - not because of the their prices, but because of their service. You get a great haircut, great conversation, and great customer service all for outstandingly low prices. Strata Spa is definitely the only place in Spokane I will be getting my haircut. I have been coming in to Strata for almost 2 years now. I was a stylist for 13 years before a change in careers. I know a good Salon. I was the owner of a Sebastian Artistic Center on the coast for 5 years. These Stylists know hair. They always make me feel welcome and I never feel rushed. The massages are with an incredible professional, personal touch. I love the changes being made in the decor and look forward to the new things getting ready to happen there. I've been getting my hair cut at Strata for several years now, and I can honestly say I won't go anywhere else. Chere cuts my hair, and it's easily the best haircut I've ever had. Not many stylists seem to know how to cut men's hair, but Chere does, and she's never put one of those clip things in my hair like I've had at other places. i can't even explain how much i love those girls at strata, but i want them to be the most successful they can be so i have to tell everyone about them. they are truly spokane's treasure! they even got second place for the inlander's best of nw poll the first year they even tried for it. look out next year! they are so talented and they each have the best personalities, which is rare in spokane. other places i've gone (including the supposed #1 in spokane) have been so pushy and rude, very uptight. at strata they are a riot! great hair, great organic products, and great friends...i always leave happy and smiling! love you guys! more

I've searched far and long for an excellent stylist/salon. I have finally found ""the one"". I am the type of person who doesn't spend a lot of time on my hair, I don't have the patience or, to be honest, the know how . When I ask a stylist to give me a haircut/style/color THEY think would be flattering to my face and accodimating to my lifestyle (after all, they're the trained professional), I usually end up with a glorified trim and possibly ""layers""...BORING!! When I asked AnnieG at Strata Salon Spa that very question I was pleasently suprised to hear innovative ideas, she gave helpful advice and even showed me a few easy and elegant ways to style my hair for a night out ! I walked out of there looking and FEELING like a million bucks! Not only does Strata have a knowledgeable (and friendly ) team of stylists, they ALSO have an amazing and I mean AMAZING massage therapist! Annie has been doing my hair for some time. She is very knowledgable, great cuts and color every time. She is creative and always knows what my hair needs. She really listens to me and what I want to do with my hair, and when I don't know she asks questions until we get some great ideas together. She just started cutting my husband's hair and it has never looked better. Even his crazy cowlick in the front behaves itself now. Pros: Great team. everyone likes each other. more

chere gives the best men's haircut that i've ever had. she's got that true barber appeal that weldon barber boasts about, except she can actually cut hair worth what you're paying. she even throws in that scalp massage that i can't get enough of, and they have late appointments for the working man. even though it's a salon, i'm not at all hesitant to go in. it's fun, relaxed and full of beautiful women! what more could you ask for? Strata is amazing! I was getting more and more disappointed with the inconsistency and price of other salons, so when my friend told me about strata I was a bit hesitant. I was so happy though, they exceeded all my expectations! Everything from directions how to get there and where I could park, to explaining how to use certain products to achieve that salon perfect hair when I was at home. And it definitely was PERFECT hair! They took care of my every need-even plugged my meter. I have been to almost everyone there, and I have always left satisfied. Each of them has lots of training, going to New York, Seattle, and Vegas. Annie is the regional educator for the organic products they use called MOP. They do hair for many of the news anchors and the contestants for that local american idol thing, Gimme the Mike. The last time was Joey, and he was so knowledgeable and great to talk to, we had so much fun. Everytime I've been in it's been fun, just laughing and joking around. The whole place is inviting and laid-back. It's so open that everyone can really interact. I would recommend Strata to everyone, especially if you want quality work while having a great time.
