This was a Groupon purchase. I work 1 month pre-scheduled and all cruises I could chose from were filled. I tried to reason with Star Fleet, but they were rigid, even though they had over 2,000 Groupons and the company only ran a few trips a week if that. I had to book a 4pm cruise..not exactly a ""sunset"" cruise. We were to board 15min before departure. People lined up blocking the parking lot, the sun was blazing down, and no shade. We boarded 10 min late, and they wanted to take pictures as you boarded...people were hot, sweaty and the line move very slow to board because of this delay. Most people had designated tables below in the air conditioning, some didn't and sat above deck in the open but deck. They could have let people pre-board in the air-conditioned dining room and made more money off drinks while they waited. Drinks were very slow to come. Everyone had piled in at once and were hot. No instruction, so our table (there were the 2 of us and 2 other couples we didn't know and they didn't know each other) went to the buffet since a line had started. After we sat down with our food, we heard they were serving people from upstairs 1st, then called each table one by one downstairs. We got angry glances from the other tables. Dinner was a buffet style chicken or beef, salad, fruit, rolls, and different desserts. Food was tasty, even for buffet style and non-alcoholic beverages free. \r
After dinner we went outside. One of the stewards had an armful of beads was throwing them to the people on the boardwalk, instead of offering them to the customers to throw.\r
Pros: a nice day out, food was good, non-alcoholic beverages free. \r
Cons: rigid as to their policies when they offer a Groupon, can't accommodate the amount sold (should extend the expiration date or allow payment of the difference to go on a different cruise they offer!). Need to have some form of shade while waiting, especially when running late in boarding, or should let people board early! Should have line direction in the parking lot. Need explanation of expectations (dinner lines, etc.) Employees should give passengers the beads to throw. \r
Pros: Food was really good for buffet style\r
Cons: make you stand in the hot sun, no explanation on board
