For my sister in laws birthday we went on the murder mystery cruise on 9/10/11. Needless to say we were quite disappointed in what we paid for. From the website we gathered that their would be actors and a stage and not just people from the crowd although they did well. Even we were part of it. The food was bland and not worth paying for. The salad was wilted and turning, chicken was dry, and the steak very poor quality. The pasta salad was good, though. The staff was polite. We agreed next time to try some other place and wouldn't recommend it to others. The best thing about it was the people sitting beside us. It was not worth the four hour drive. more

"" A lot of people were disappointed and angered yesterday on the Star Gazer Redfish Island Labor Day cruise. There are a lot of us that have done this every year and fans of Kelly McGuire. In the years past we showed up, got in line, got on the boat, went to where we wanted to sit, saved places for friends -- no problem. Most people were upstairs unless they went downstairs to eat. We all were fine and fit. This year they did it differently. Greed. Seems like there were more people. After waiting in line for 30 minutes, we got on the boat only to be told where to sit -- downstairs. They had assigned seating this year. Said if you wanted to sit upstairs you had to have paid $15 more. And there was nothing that said that. There was a popup that said extras -- like champaign, etc, but never would have thought to look to see if it was going to cost more to sit a certain place and be told where to sit since it never has been that way. Oh, a lot of us who do this religiously every year said we will NOT do this again -- not this way. We paid $89 for a band, drinks, food, cruise just like every year and now they want $15 more to sit upstairs in assigned seats. Oh, and we had 10 people in our group but because we all purchased our tickets ourselves online, we were all seated at different tables. NOT WORTH IT ANYMORE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DOING THIS. I guess it's time for us that do this yearly and are friends and fans of Kelly to step aside and let the poor people pay more than they should because they do not know any better. IF IT'S NOT BROKEN, DO NOT FIX IT. It has worked fine for the last 5 years until this year. We and a lot of others will NOT BE BACK!!! more

I took my husband on the supposedly romantic dinner cruise for our 23rd anniv. and I was very disappointed because the avdertisement really was misleading. We were seated on the top deck and it was very hot up there, in order to get to the food, bathroom or any facilities on the liner you had to go up and down the stairs and that was quite an inconvience for everyone. We were under the impression that we would be in a romantic setting and when asking the crew, they literally stated this is what you get. The food was okay the salad was wilted the only highlight was our server Wes he made the 2 hrs bearable. We arrived and there was no one to tell you where to go and I tried to call the office to no avail because there was no one there to answer. Overall, the server Wes should get a raise because his was AWESOME. more

The murder mystery cruise was wonderful! The buffet style food was healthy but also very tasty and worth every penny. I loved the entertainment - I thought it would be to ""young"" for me but it turned out to really reach an older audience. However, my 12 year old son really really loved it too. more

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday.. even he loved it!The food was great the staff was awesome and we just had a fabulous time! I think we also ended up with the best people on board everyone was joining in the fun..Dress was casual.We WILL be returning soon!! I LOVED THIS!! Next time im bringing a bunch of friends with me because when we cam eback and told everyone about it they want to experience this too!! THANK YOU GUYS FOR A GREAT TIME!!!! more

We had an okay time. The chicken was really good. I guess our main complaint was that we were on the boat for at least 30 minutes before we had a waiter take our order. So, the next time we ordered about an hour later, we doubled up on our drink order. Instead of 1 bartender, they really need two or three for 100 pp. Music was blaring in our ears and it was hot in there, too. For the price you should be able to be out on the ship for at least hours, not 2 on the dot. Not enough time to even go outside really. more

NOT the same FOOD is REALLY poor List on menu Chicken Lamb and Fish...NO LAMB, Chicken is Frozen FLAT Brest, have to ask if Chicken is Fish or chicken...The Cheese cake was good....but for the price could of Ate at 4 Seasons. Had to wait your turn like school cafeteria ....Wrote email to cruise line, dissatisfaction NO REPLY. Sad to see enjoyed going in past, but stuff has changed as we were told by staff... more

I will never forget my experience with Star Fleet! My now-fiance surprised me and proposed to me on board of the limo fleet on Saturday April 2nd!! waw!! Our captain/server Scott was very nice and professional. It was soooo romantic! The food was excellent: fresh and tasty. Compliments to the chef! I would recommend it to anyone! more

Went for a brunch cruise on April 3rd, 2011...The food was truly horrible...worse than the worst banquet food ever...the free breakfast buffet at the Day's Inn is better than this was...the Eggs Benedict were cold and the English muffin was soggy and next to impossible to cut, the mushroom quiche was gray, the cold asparagus had some really odd spicing on them and the Danish right out of the box from Sam's Club...the bacon and fruit were good...whatever else there was I did not even try, because it did not look appetizing...this was a brunch cruise and we had to ask for coffee...our server, Wes, was very good, a lady named Rae Ann (?) from CA was also very friendly and everyone on the staff was pleasant...the boat and the atmosphere were very nice...and we would come back for a cocktail cruise or something not involving food...please get a better chef...because the food truly sucked... more

My husband & I went on the 'murder mystery' cruise on 3/12. It was a nite cruise. When we first arrived we noticed a very long line, it was about a 10min line, as they were also taking photos. lt was cool on the water but we had so much fun throwing beads to the ppl on the Kemah boardwalk, some of whom were more than eager to catch them. The only draw back to this was how many beads landed in the water instead of on the boardwalk itself...l cringe to think of some poor marine animal mistaking this for food or becoming entangled in the masses of beads in the water. Just seems careless & thoughtless! The beautfully illuminated homes & palm trees were a site, but l was dissapointed w/ the inside of the yacht which was not luxurious at all. Compared to the outside it was like walking into a stuffy, brightly lit truck stop diner. The music was terrible...l do not need to hear corny big band music all evening! l also did not expect that the patrons would be asked to participate in the mystery itself...l just assumed there would be actors amongst the bunch. The show was good, but one of the actors could not read very well so there were crickets during their part, but they tried their best. Will definetely recommend & try the other cruises offered! more

My sister and I went on the Murder Mystery ""Murder by Chocolate"" on the Star Cruiser for our birthday on 3/12/11. Spacing was a little cramped and though we were only a party of two, we shared a long buffet table with six other people. more

My fianc? and I recently took a Murder Mystery dinner cruise on the Star Gazer and we had a great time. The food was yummy, and the staff on board was extremely friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed being out on the water for dinner instead of our usual Saturday date night in Clear Lake. If you haven?t tried the Murder Mystery yet, GO! more

Small vessel limits dining and seating area. Only dinner and D.J. were included. Walt the first mate asked some to wait to enjoy the buffet assuring us that buffet would be open all evening. My husband and I decended to the dining cabin about 40 minutes into the cruise. The skimpy buffet was was even less as they ran out of items. The staff blamed us for waiting. I felt since drinks were not included this was not a good value. DJ was mediocre to lame. Star Fleet knows how to throw a good party they missed on this one. more

My girlfriend and I had dinner valentines day on board your star gazer yacht. To begin it was not what I expected. As we arrived we waited in a long line outside to board the yacht. As we boarded we where seated in a table along with two other couples. Nice people but not what I had in mind. As we took off servers started selling mati gras beads to throw off the boardwalk. If I was there for a party great idea, but this was what I though was supossed to be a semi ""romantic"" event. Dinner was starting to be served and the upper deck was asked to get in line first, but they where not served, instead they stood in line like a Lubys cafeteria. By the time it was our turn on the lower deck, some food had run out and all the deserts where finished. Service was good and the staff was very attentive. In all it was a new experience, but definetely not worth the price. more

My wife and I went on a Murder Mystery cruise and had a blast. The show was great for kids and adults and was very funny. The crew was very helpfull and provided great service! The Captain even let us drive the Yacht!!! We will be back soon for sure!!! more

We got tickets for the Valentines Pajama Party Cruise, and I paid extra to have a window seat on the Star Cruzer. When we got there, we had to wait out in the cold till they finally let us onboard (my ticket said 10:30pm, they had a sign up that said 10:45). Then we get on, and the whole boat is packed because instead of running two boats, they crammed us all onto one, and did we get any money back? No! They made all of that profit, and ran out of food, to boot. Com on now, people. I felt like a sardine untill everyone ate all the food there was, and went upstairs to dance. I went up there once for the one 'game' they had (there was supposed to be more) and then had to come straight back down. The boat was nice, and the staff was nice, but give me a break, I didn't pay $80, and my friend another $60 to be crammed in and not get to taste all the food. Chips and pasta does not cut it!!! more

I wanted to suprise my girlfriend with a nice intimate dinner for Valentines day. She loves the water so I figured this would be the best of both worlds! more

Although we got there right at the time of boarding but we had a great time there... Specially upstairs with slow jazz music and warm welcome..... the waitresses were so kind and attentive. What else you want on your special time ... is just relax.. Overall wonderful, will recommend to have this experience. I give AAA ++++++++. more

Excellent experience. Staff is attentive, food is good, with nice variety. Enjoyable to experience dinner on a yacht instead of same ol' date night. Entertainment was enjoyable. Will be back since there is such a large variety of different types of cruises to go on. more
