By 6 o'clock, the 11 or so tables of Spumoni's tiny dining room are all occupied, and families and couples are digging into their spaghetti, eggplant parmesan and, most of all, gn...

Had an order of the Eggplant Parmigiana (~15): beaded eggplant smothered in tomato sauce & cheese. Food was delicious, staff was agreeable, and the ambiance was cozy. more

Spumoni - tiny Italian spot for big eaters! 10/26/2009

I ordered the gnocchi and my boyfriend got the chicken Siciliana at Spumoni Italian restaurant. Delicious. A rare gem. The staff is always kind and attentive. Apparently I have to write 100 characters, so here it goes. Pros: The linguine pescatore Cons: TCBY is eyeing you next door more

Consistently delicious 2/23/2009

A great neighborhood Italian restaurant. They have a full menu with all the very best Italian dishes including a special Gnocchi menu -- they're specialty! I always take out of town guests here. They wait staff is attentive, but not bothersome, your glass will never be empty and your breadbasket full! The wine list offers glasses of house wine for $6 or $8 or you can purchase more premium wine. The $6 house wine was a bit watery so definitely recommend investing $2 more for a better glass. Pros: Quick service, full flavor dishes, affordable wine Cons: Small location, tables very close together more

Great food, great value, great service 2/13/2009

I have been eating here for about 12 years and the food is still amazing, the prices are right and the people are so friendly. I wish it were a bit larger or had more locations, because it's always packed-but that's what happens when the food is great. Spumoni is always a solid bet. Pros: Food is the best Cons: small venue more

Editorial review from GrubHub 12/8/2008

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE Spumoni Italian charged me for food they didn't deliver, and then had the nerve to keep my prepaid tip!!! First the delivery man didn't need me to sign anything & he left in a hurry. I start passing out the food only to discover that my guest's lasagna wasn't in the bag. I checked the enclosed receipt... No lasagna. The very least ?Spumoni Italian could have done was call to let me know they ran out of lasagna. Being the quick thinking TV producer I am I found a solution to my problem. Missing food is not even the worst part. Since Spumoni had screwed up my order I foolishly assumed they would only charge me for what they did deliver. WRONG!!!! ?Spumoni Italian DIDNT readjust the amount charged. Plus to add insult to injury Spumoni also took the liberty to keep the original tip (this is the last time I prepay a tip). GrubHub is a great company and after I called & explained the situation, GrubHub quickly fixed it, but Spumoni Italian is BAD! more

Great food, cheap prices 11/15/2006

I like this place, it's a little crowded and a little loud but the servers are very friendly and the food is great- all my favorites and some decent wines. I love the caprese and several of the pastas- my bf is a big fan of the gnocci. I like that they give a little piece of tiramisu to share at the end of the meal. It's small but after a giant pile of pasta, it's perfect. more

Our Neighborhood Favorite 4/21/2004

My husband and I live around the corner from Spumoni and eat there often. The food is good, but the ambience and service always make our meals a pleasure. The staff is friendly, and the tight quarters and busy atmosphere inside the restaurant it fun. On warm nights, sitting outside is also a great option. Spumoni also offers takeout, which we take advantage of often. The Italian salad is our favorite -- and it's big enough for two! Pros: Reasonable prices, Friendly staff, Convenient location more

Great neighborhood restaurant 6/19/2003

When I want to go out for dinner and am not looking for a ""date"" place, attitude, the scene, etc., I always come back to Spumoni. It's simple, fast, has very good food, is reasonably-priced, and has a fun, festive atmosphere. And as a nice touch, they'll sometimes bring you a complimentary glass of wine while you're waiting outside for your table. What more can you ask for? :) Pros: very good food, excellent service, reasonable prices Cons: a bit crowded more

Adequately Filling 2/4/2003

I was surprised at the high rating given Spumoni Italian after experiencing an evening of only adequate food, overcrowded furnishings, noise, and slow service. The kitchen, located amidst the patrons, generates lots of energy, so if you need an upper with your meal, this may be the right place. The staff was genial, even when we had to ask a second time for an ice bucket for the wine. The parking area behind the restaurant is a zoo (a few spaces tightly squeezed together with a bad angle for entering/exiting the spaces. Use street parking if you go there. Pros: congenial staff Cons: crowded tables, unimpressive food, noisy more
