When I want to go out for dinner and am not looking for a ""date"" place, attitude, the scene, etc., I always come back to Spumoni. It's simple, fast, has very good food, is reasonably-priced, and has a fun, festive atmosphere. And as a nice touch, they'll sometimes bring you a complimentary glass of wine while you're waiting outside for your table. What more can you ask for? :)
