I'm a facilities manager by profession. I've managed HVAC service crews for almost 15 years. Because I've been traveling a lot on business in the last few years, I thought I'd take advantage of the reasonably priced assessment of my home HVAC system. I was curious to follow up on the technician's opinion when I got home from my most recent business trip. I found his description of my system inaccurate. He told my wife that her double-coil condenser was plugged with dirt in between and that only a special coil cleaning tool could help. In fact, he said, if we tried to clean the coils with a garden hose it would make the problem worse by impacting the dirt. The truth is that I have a single-coil condenser and that thing is virtually spotless inside. I rinsed the coil down with my own garden hose and that was that. I expected some resolution or at least some direction regarding hot and cold spots in my house. The basement has always felt like the AC or heat just didn't make it all the way there. The tech's solution was "coil cleaning". Never mind the fact that air isn't blowing out of the vents. Solar Bear seems to see every problem as a nail. Perhaps that is because their only tool is a hammer. Coil cleaning. more

hole in my ceiling they were going to fix before I return to Tex. They won't even talk to me or return phone calls. Does this unit have a tax credit? finance mgr. Jorge will not return phone call, said he didn't know but would get back to me, didn't happen. Will not recommend. more

I need an instruction booklet on my water conditioning system. and my r. o. system does have a hook up for my refridgerater ice machine which was not hooked up. more

Jason at Solar Bear was the only person that even offered to fix us up with another condenser unit when ours died. We are in a position where we cannot afford a whole new air conditioning system at present, and our old condenser unit had died with no hope of revival in the hottest part of summer. Since you can't pair new with old, the others wanted to sell a whole new system at a cost of around $6,000. Solar Bear found us a good used condenser unit and we are now cool and comfortable thanks to Solar Bear, and they even gave a warranty on it!!! WE LOVE YOU SOLAR BEAR!!!! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND them to everyone! =) more

Upon introduction our technician made several notes of what was causing our house to be hotter than normal with the a/c running. He was very thorough in showing us how to save money in electricity and efficiently cool our house down. I have since recommended this company to several of my friends in need of a/c care. more

I don't totally understand the concept and workings of heating and AC. It seems the price to clean your system was expensive. more

The technicians seemed to be very knowledgeable, and were very nice and professional. They did everything that was promised, offered the other service recommendations, gave me an estimate for things I asked about, and gave me the appropriate paperwork. more

Did not know that there were two coils. Solar bear cleaned the outer coil, but not the inner coil. more

Three years ago I came home at 11 PM from visiting family in Florida. My house was at 96 degrees. I quickly called the contractor who installed the unit 5 yrs prior. I was greeted with a recording. I then called my daughter and asked if she could recommend an emergency service company. She told me to call Solar Bear. I called, it was now after Midnight, and I got a live person. He told me to turn the system off and he would be here in 30 minutes. He showed up 15 minutes later. He tested out the system while I held a flashlight and finally said "Bad news, we have a bad fan motor and a blown capacitor and I don't have the part on my truck, but I try to call one of our technicians, maybe he has one." It was now 1 Am. Another guy in a Solar Bear truck showed up 20 minutes later. He drove from his home in Scottsdale. By 2:30 AM my house was getting cool again and I took out a Service Contract with them. I'm so glad I did because 2 years after that (on 4/28/11) my AC compressor quit. I knew it was bad, because I could smell the burned wires in the unit outside. Two days later Solar Bear installed a new Trane AC unit at the best price I could imagune. Believe me I researched the cost of that unit. No one on the internet could come close to the price I paid. Great Service, Great People, Great Company, Solar Bear. Service does more than any other in the area. Some companies come in and do a visual check--your company comes in and does preventative work more

Its been very hard to find a company that keeps their end of a deal you folks at solar bear did just that. We got much more than we paid for and are unit is working better than ever Thanks Solar Bear Looking foward to the Heating tune up in November. Ben more

This is a great service company. We had a problem last year with our air conditioning system. They came to my home at 2 AM to find and fix the problem and got us back up and running on the HOT July night. While there they purposed we join their preventative maintenenace we were skeptical at first but after now recieving our first check up since then We couldnt be happier. Thank you so much Solar Bear we look forward to seeing you continuously and will recomend you to all of our friends. more

The technicians who inspected the old unit and installed the new AC/Heat Pump were exemplary. Jose ( I do not remember his last name or the last name of anyone else) the Inspector was wonderful and knowledgeable, and Abel and Tony, the installers were highly skilled and diligent in all aspects. However, communication with the office was less than perfect. One appointment was missed, one showed up on the wrong day, another was going to show up at 5:00pm on a Friday, which was too late for me, and the office forgot that I had a duct cleaning as part of my service, and neglected to tell me that I had a complimentary plumbing inspection and flushing as part of my package. It was the duct cleaner who informed me. So for the salesman, inspector and installers, 5 stars. Communication from the head office, 2 stars. more
