I just moved back to town and was ready for a new change, although hesitant about where to go.. I was told in conversation at work that Siggers was the place to call. I'm so happy...

go and see Brittany she is wonderful! 8/6/2009

i went for the first time a couple months ago..it was very crowded, but my stylist Brittany was ready for me almost immediately.. she was very sweet and listened to what i said about my cut and my color. she would cut some and make sure that i was happy with the length before continuing to cut. she was very friendly and seemed like she knew what she was doing. I will definitely be back to see her!! more

Allison & I Have Come A Long Way 6/15/2009

When I scheduled my first appointment with Siggers, I asked for an experienced person. I knew I was about to make a huge change and lose the 1980's hair (long & straight). Allison cut about 8-10 inches off my head and made me like it. I went back 2 weeks later and asked her to fix my bangs because they were not falling right. She did (without complaint & never made me feel bad for asking). Then she cut my hair again (12 weeks later) and cut it a little shorter...(eeekk). But 2 weeks later it was still not right. So I took her advice & came back to have her ""fix it."" Now I have an ""edgy"" fabulous haircut thanks to Allison. She was patient and kind. It's like she took the training wheels off my ""hair"" by the 4th cut and now I am riding around like I've always looked this hip & cool (Look Mom - No Hands!). For the first time in my life, I trusted a hair stylist enough to go back to her to keep helping me get to the next level! Sometimes we can't get out of our own way...and need someone to gently show us it's ok to try something new. Pros: Super Star Atmosphere Cons: Celebrity Prices more

Best Salon in Atlanta 12/13/2008

After jumping around salons all over Atlanta (Soge, Dobel, Key Lime Pie, Helmet, Vis a Vis) for quite some time and being disappointed over and over, a friend told me about Siggers. When I called, the receptionist was very polite and helpful. I only had to wait a few minutes for my hairdresser, Allison, to greet me. She was very attentive to everything I wanted and I got just that. I finally have the perfect balance of highlights and lowlights and a flattering cut. The first few times I went (when my hair was very damaged), I alternated between a couple of their conditioning treatments, which did wonders for my hair. Allison even told me which products she was using, which ended up being better than any other salon lines I had used before. I now use almost only Siggers products and am able to achieve the straight-from-the-salon look on my own (Thanks Allison!). The best part is that if for any reason she is not working, I can see her husband Gavin who is equally talented and charming. This salon is by far the best in Atlanta. Not only is their service outstanding, but they are also experts who don't just pretend to know what they're doing. Never again will I go to another salon. Pros: Consistency, Professionalism, Experience Cons: None that I've seen more

not worth the $ 9/20/2008

My story is similar to SO many of the other reviews, my advice - way overpriced for the experience. I have walked out of there 3 times wondering what did i just pay for. i am now searching for a new stylist. Pros: my stylists was very nice Cons: she didn't know what she was doing more

Friendly, Professional, but still fun 8/14/2008

I love siggers. As a mom of 2 I look foward to the break every time I go. I am always treated in a way that is polite and professional. However in my stylist chair it is nothing but laughs, great conversation and even better hair cuts. Allison, my stylist is young, cute and has a great personal style, so I totally trust her to cut not only my hair but also my daughters. The only complaint that I have ever had is the young girls at the reception desk. I asked John Siggers about it and he explained that it was part of their apprenticeship. Well I can understand that. We were all new at something once. As to the complaints on this board about John Siggers he has always been polite and friendly to us. He even takes special time for my daughter if she is with me. I love this place and will keep going over and over. more

Done 7/17/2008

I first went to Siggers around 10 years ago. I had gone to my previous hairdresser for several years and he convinced me the only thing I could do with my hair was perm it. When I started looking like my grandmother, I knew it was time for a change! My first appointment for just a haircut at Siggers was with Carol. After someone washed my hair, I was ushered to the couch behind Carol's station. I believe I waited over an hour before she mutilated my hair. I left with a short mullet hairdo that was hideous! Pros: If you are lucky you might get a talented stylist. Cons: If you aren't lucky, you will feel ripped off and also get a bad haircut. more

Lack of experience... girls all look the same... lack of customer service... good hair color but wayyyyy overpriced for the girl that I got... overall just a cattle call of people that are shoved in and out as fast as possible. more

great stylist 4/18/2008

Siggers has been reccomended to me since I moved to Atlanta early this year. I finally decided to bite the bullet and pay the prices to see if it was worth it. I went on a Saturday, it was quite a circus. I waited for a good fifteen minutes before my stylist was able to start on me, though once she got to me I did feel I had her complete attention. My color turned out beautiful and I was grateful for the small, but much needed changes the stylist reccomended I make. I only asked for a trim so I can't say much about the cut but my trim was made better by some pretty layers around my face that I didn't even know I needed! My stylist was pretty busy so her assistant washed and styled my hair. She actually did a great job, only to be made better by the stylist fininshing it up with the best flat iron ever. ( I bought one) Overall, it was pricey but I would say worth it, even if I did have to wait some. Next time I'll go on a weekday. more

Not worth the hype 12/8/2007

The salon prides itself with high fashion cuts and innovative, creative new techniques. However, many of the styles and techniques can be found elsewhere. For example, the balayage technique gets a lot of hype there. It's used in many, less expensive places around Atlanta and is falsely made out to be some highly exclusive, mysterious technique. It's just the French noun for highlighting and it's been around for a while. Every time I've gotten my hair done here, I end up looking like an over-done pageant girl. Many of the hairstyles I see on the stylists and other customers just look plain trashy. They believe so much in their own hype and create a very, very unwelcoming environment. Oh, they also charge you an arm and a leg. more

Great stylists 10/16/2007

I have went to many upscale salons in the Atlanta area & t his one is less pretentious than most. It is upscale, but does not have that air of arrogance often found in other salons. Though Siggers is known for their color (which is good), I actually continue going there b/c Gavin does such a wonderful job on my cut. He is young & personable & I would reccommend him to anyone. I have always had a pleasant experience there, but after reading some of the other reviews, I did remember something that happened on my first visit. Since I was new, I requested the owner when I made my first appointment. He was booked, so the receptionist reccommended his son. Once I arrived at the salon, I was told that he was not even there that day & they sat me with Gavin. Ultimately, I am glad I was introduced to Gavin, but it was kind of unprofessional the way it was handled. The owner's son called me several days later & seemed that he did not care and was just checking me off of his to-do list. Basically, the take-away is that this is a great salon with wonderful stylists such as Gavin (the management team seems to be the common thread with any bad experience). Pros: Stylists Cons: Management sometimes off base more

Rip Off and Rudeness by the Owner Himself 9/22/2007

I had gone to Siggers and had a great experience with the stylist who did my hair that first time. She is awesome and I would recommend her any day. However, the salon itself and the people it is run by is a complete rip off and customer service is HORRIBLE. These people have obviously put themselves on a pedestal and think that no one can take them down. I recommended at least 10 of my friends due to the one hairstylist I was really happy with. However, my mom, who by the way has an accent and does not speak perfect English, went by herself and got RIPPED OFF. We paid one price every time we went and when she went by herself she was charged double. When I spoke to the owner over the phone he was rude and did not know the first thing about customer service. I said, ""Is that how you do your business? You tell people one thing and then you rip them off when they come in?"" ...and you know what he said to me?!? He said, ""Yup, it's my business and I run it the way I want to.? I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. I will NEVER go there again and will make sure none of the people I originally recommended will either. Pros: The one hairstylist that always did my hair. Cons: Owners care about $$$ only and 0 about customers more

You will be happier going elsewhere 9/18/2007

I heard about Siggers and expected great things. It's true that it's expensive (my first visit was over $200 for color and a cut) which would be okay if you leave with a great haircut. Sadly you are more likely to leave with a feeling that you've been bamboozled. Pros: Siggers does great color Cons: Seriously overpriced, apathetic service more

Ripped off! By the owner of all people 10/25/2006

Where DOES Atlanta get their reviews to name a salon one of ""Top 10""? When I called for an appointment, I clearly stated I was a first timer and wanted the best. Beings ALL haircuts are $52.00, who wouldn't ask for the same? After sitting in a chair with wet hair for over 20 minutes one of the owners, John, came over to cut my hair. ""Stand up"" and the scissors went straight across my shoulders. After a snip here and there, he said, ""Let me get someone to dry your hair. You do want it dried, yes?"" Well, who wouldn't for a $52.00 haircut?! NO ONE said there would be an additional charge. I could have purchased my own hair dryer for $25.00! What is the hair and nail industry coming to? If your offering of a service comes with a price tag but can be mistaken for kindness, then post it somewhere the consumer can see or TELL them. Pros: The front desk is capable of taking a message Cons: The owner won't call a customer back who felt cheated more

run away from this salon. 9/21/2006

hmmm.....i noticed some negative posts were removed. either way, this is the worst salon ever. its way over priced as is equivalent to super cuts or cost cutters but they charge you 500% more. my blonde highlights turned out orange and i was still charge way too much. my cut was uneven. the stylists and colorists here are without education level it seems. they need to get there customer service act together too, they are completely oblivious to customers. the bland decor has got to go too. more

Siggers Hairdressers 9/7/2006

I've been going to Siggers for years and I've always had a very wonderful experience. I get compliments on my color all the time, I've had to go to other hairdressers there and everytime it is consistent, my hair always looks wonderful. Don't think you have to go to BUckhead just to get a good hair experience. Pros: beautiful building and beautiful people Cons: not in the city but worth the drive. more

overated 7/14/2006

I too came from the west coast and looking for a great place to get my hair done. I didn't care what the cost was just wanted my hair to look great. I was told to go here. The first time I went the girl was late, looked at my hair, I asked just for some highlights to get through a couple of weeks until I had time to come in and get a full weave of dark and light. she quickly mixed some bleach and put it in my hair. $130 was the cost for bleach. I gave it a second chance thinking maybe I didn't explain well enough. She did not acknowledge my presence for 20 minutes after my appt schedule, I started to explain what I wanted done, she had to come back again but she said she knew. Next thing I know, there is color mixed by an assistant, what color I don't know because my stylist didn't even talk to me about it or look at anything I wanted, I sat for another 20 minutes and left. Went up to another salon and got EXACTLY what I wanted for 90.00 Pros: pretty/clean Cons: just okay for the price more
