This is the second time in a few years I have needed to call on Schaefer's. They are always punctual and friendly. Lou was very helpful in the office. He explained the possible problems clearly and called back right away during a very busy season. As always, Eric is intelligent, knowledgeable, and efficient, and very pleasant to deal with, too. I really don't understand some of these reviews: there is some kind of history there that isn't getting mentioned and it's too bad it impacts the scores. I wouldn't consider switching to any other pool service. I am extremely happy with their work and I recommend them highly. more

I was not to sure about doing business with schaefers because of its reviews but when searching the big green egg I found that they were the only retail place locally that sold them. I was pleasantly surprised with the experience. I visited the store 2 times before purchasing the bbq & was treated very nicely both times. They even offered to deliver my purchase for me since I could not fit it in my car. I would deffinatly shop there again. more

Schaefers was the first company I dealt with after I bought a house with a pool, at first their customer service seemed good, Eric is very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with, on the other hand, they do not return phone calls, are late to appointments, and are difficult to get anything done. A very frustrating experience. I do not recommend this company for your pool needs, I went with another company out of Salem. more

I have to agree with another review here. I would never go back after being treated like I was an idiot when describing a problem with my spa. Never talk to Lou if you can help it. Eric on the other hand is great. Very knowledgable and has a good attitude. Eric has worked on my spa over the years and I was never disappointed in his work. I went in to talk about replacing my spa and like I said was treated like I knew nothing. Eric even tried to correct him and agreed with me and Lou just brushed him aside and continued to belittle my diagnosis. Be very selective with who you talk to if you go into Schaefers. more

Schaefers' is a great place to go if you deal with the right person. I agree that the boss is a little difficult to work with and most people at the store have been less than helpful. They seem to choose to avoid customers at times. However, there is one diamond in the rough. The head pool and spa technician has always been willing to go the extra mile to help me out. He knows exactly what he's talking about and is extremely patient. He has even dropped what he was doing to help me and is even knowledgable on the stoves. He seems to know more than the guy in charge of stoves and treated me like I actually mattered. I am a paying customer after all! I think they could do much better if there were a few more employees like Eric - I believe that was his name. He has great advice for pools and spas and has even offered me ways to save on things I can handle myself. It's not all bad! If you leave a message, just be VERY specific, ask them to write it down and you will be fine. more

I had a stove put in that was $300 more than the one I wanted because I was assured that this stove would be a perfect fit. \r The city of corvallis inspectors failed the stove inspection 2 times. \r THe owner was looking to me to fund the specs needed to pass the inspection. In the end, I did not pay for the modifications. I hope the city passes me this time. I do not recommend this company, although the seem to have the corner on the market here in Corvallis. more

Customer service is poor. Generally difficult to get a straight answer from anyone there. You want to pull your hair and ask how you ended up in Corvallis. more

If you are looking for a pellet stove and want options, this is not the store for you. There were 2 sizes of pellet stoves, same brand...not much choice there. But, the owner of the store was friendly and helpful. He told me how to install the stove myself, instead of paying the money to have it done (which is big bucks). He had suggestions on how to get the best use out of the stove. So for customer service, I give them a 5 star, for choice of products, a 2 star. more
