I drive all the way from south Tacoma to Bellevue every month to get my brows shaped by Lucy! She's literally the best thing to happen to me since my husband and children... no kidding. She does a fantastic job of waxing my brows so that they have a perfect arch and they never look too thin (which I hate). She has an eye for what will suit your face and features and has never ever messed up. She's good at fixing little at-home mistakes too. Ever since I started going to Lucy (for almost 3 years now) I have had lots of compliments about my brows. I also get a bikini wax with Lucy during the summer months and she does an excellent job with minimal pain. Easily the best of the best - if Lucy ever moved back to Brazil I would seriously consider getting on a plane once a month to go get my brows shaped over there! Awesome and reasonably priced! more

Caryn is careful to see that your toes are happy and pretty. She saves my color even though it has been discontinued. She has applied eye liner that I have always: some day I may add lip linner and full color. My hands are always very well cared for...and pretty! Caryn is very careful to keep her work areas clean and takes interest in the way you play and work. I know you will enjoy your time with her. Dear pickylocal (June Wong), At Salon Tewl our guests are our biggest asset and we strive to meet their needs to the best of our ability and to excel in customer service. We apologize for the misunderstanding that took place in regards to your consultaion appointment with Mari. Last week we had booked you multiple appointments with two of our other stylists and you arrived to the first appointment but not to the second. We tried calling you three times in regards to your appointment with Mari immediatley after you booked so that we could avoid the situation that occured, for whatever reason your phone rang and rang and then went to a machine that sounded like a fax machine or internet. Please accept our apologies on behalf of Salon Tewl, we are EXTREMELY sorry for the confusion and we hope that you will reconsider coming back to Salon Tewl in the future. more

After reading all the good reviews, I planned to get a new hair cut/perm and called Salon Tewl. The receptionist set up a consultation appointment with Mari since Mari is the only person who does perms at Salon Tewl. Six hours later, I went to the appointment promptly. The receptionist was trying to ignore me and made me wait for a long time. When the second person came and waited behind me, the receptionist started to talk to the second person in line. I reminded her that I was the first person in line and I waited for a long time. The receptionist told me that they tried to call me to cancel the appointment earlier today. When I asked why the appointment was cancelled, the receptionist told me that Mari IS NOT ACCEPTING ANY NEW CUSTOMERS. It seemed weird to refuse new customers since she is the only person does the perm. The receptionist did not offer any apology. Later when I checked my phone, I did not see their phone call on my caller ID at all. The unhappy experience did not turn out to be so bad as I dropped by a different Salon nearby. I was very impressed with that Asian hairstylist in a brief consultation and I felt I finally found a lifetime hairstylist. Pros: free parking Cons: Small and crowded place, not relaxing at all more

I would definitely recommend Caryn Konma at Salon Tewl to anyone looking for an exquisite pedicure. While the price is not as cheap as other nail salons, it is definitely reasonable and the quality of work unquestionably justifies the money spent. Each time I get a pedicure here, I am reminded why I keep coming back every time. Caryn does an excellent job and the wonderful atmosphere at the salon always makes my experience all the more pleasant! more

I just recently lost my hair stylist of 6 years and was forced to subject myself to put my hair in the hands of someone I did not know. After searching for the right stylist for 9 months, which meant my hair was in desperate need, and after a friend recommendation, I tried Salon Tewl. I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Marta, the salon owner, and I walked out of there a new woman. Not only did she transform my hair she helped me completely update my whole style! I could not believe how many compliments I got! It was the kind that people were not quite sure what had changed, but just that I looked great! I have been back twice and have my 3rd appointment set up already. I love my new look! Thanks Marta! Get a Mani and Pedi with Caren while your hair processes too. Caren has a few beauty tricks up her sleave to enhance your look you are going to love. I know I am hooked. If this site would let me give a "negative" star I would do it!! Yesterday, March 5, 2010 I received the worst hair cut in my life by Natalya!..(Russian accent..?) This was my first time at that salon. I have curly hair. I explained that a little bit of a cut goes a long way on my hair because it shrinks exponentially when you cut it. I carefully showed her with my thumb and forefinger that I only wanted less than 1/4" inch taken off, "evenly". She asked, "what about the back"? I said the same. She began to cut and I ended up with the shrotest hair I've had since I was 7 years old. I had no curls left either. YOu would think that a "stylist" would see curls in the beginning and automatically think it would be a good idea to preserve the curls! Why don't people listen when you give clear directions??? How is Natalya employed there for four years? Who would go back to her??In the end I told her I was disappointed and showed her how long the hair was that she cut off of my head. She said "well, if you would bring a picture of how you like your hair, that would help". Are you serious???? I would be happier with a complete buzz cut...could have just done that myself. Heidi did my hair extensions and I just absolutley love them. I have so many options now with styling my hair. she did a skin weft extension which I was nervous about at first but sooo happy it is so comfortable and natural looking. so much less damaging then other extension methods I've had in the past. I started going to Salon Tewl last year. My stylist is Tehmina. I have crazy curly hair which is hard to cut. Tehmina has done wonder in keeping my tresses under control. She is fun, easy to work with and can do pretty much any style you ask her to do. I take pictures of hair styles I like as a starting point and she will suggest changes that will work with my hair. I just got my hair done (highlights, deep condition, cut and blow out) and I love it - it moves, its silky (not a word I use to describe my hair) and I can't stop running my hands through it. Dawn's been cutting my hair for nearly five years. We started long and "grew" short. I felt like I was walking off the edge of a cliff when I cut my long hair off yet something inside me really wanted to take the dive. I loved the way Dawn encouraged that spiritedness. I had the best hair cut and wax.Lucy, Juel, Heidi they all are amazing at what they do, i never go to anyone else except for lucy for wax, heidi does a great job with styling too, my style lasted for two days :)... so yes i love the salon and the everyone working there. When I moved to the Seattle area from the East Coast three years ago, I was in a panic trying to find a new hair stylist. I'm very particular about my hair. It has to be stylish and low maintenance. After bouncing around a few salons in the area, I read the reviews on Citysearch and gave Salon Tewl a call. The wonderful front desk staff referred me to Jamie, who I've been seeing for 2.5 years now. She is simply amazing! Jamie has given me a wide variety of cuts and all-over color or highlights, depending on my budget and whatever new look I might want. She's awesome at balancing my ideas with what will look good on me (my face shape and coloring). She's even been helping me through a grow-out, as I go from super-short to shoulder-length hair. Even during what would be an awkward hair stage, I get compliments on my cut and color! Since going to Jamie, everyone I've referred to her has loved her. She's awesome with a wide variety of men and women at any stage in life, and can do more conservative or trendy styles, depending on what you want. I've seen other stylists in the salon ask her for coloring advice and she's never failed me on a product recommendation! She also frequently sends out coupons for discounts on her services. All of the front desk staff at Salon Tewl are great and make you feel welcome from the first time you call. It's an upscale salon without feeling stuffy, and everyone always has a smile on their face. I cannot recommend this salon or Jamie highly enough - if you have any doubts, pick up the phone right now and schedule an appointment with Jamie! You'll love her! I am an extremely picky person and when I have a picture in my mind I want it to match exactly. All my life I have been let down by hair dressers, but not Heidi. She listened to my description and did what I asked for. I will never go to anyone else again and would feel comfortable referring anyone I know to go to her. SHE IS VERY TALENTED AND CARES! I thank my lucky stars that I found Dawn 6 years ago. Dawn is a master at color and cut. I have curly hair and she knows how to cut it to make it look its best and the color always looks very natural which I love. She also does an amazing job drying my hair straight for a whole new look. I just got done seeing Heidi at Salon Tewl tonight for my hair extensions and I am completely OBSESSED with them! I was really nervous about getting them at first bc I heard they could be damaging and be really heavy on my scalp but to my surprise this new technique of 'skin weft' hair extensions is very gentle and you can even reuse them after you get them removed. They are so comfortable and natural looking (they even match my natural hair texture)! I can't wait to start playing with my hair and try new styles that I wasn't able to do before. Not only is my hair longer but now it has more body and moves a lot more fluidly! I LOVE IT! The most positive thing I have to say about my extensions (besides the gorgeous look I can now achieve) that really hindered me from getting them in the past, is the price. Times can be tough, but that doesn't mean your hair should suffer and I can honestly say I have never been happier with my hair before! Marta and Heidi really know how to make a modern woman happy. Not only do I now have the length that I have always desired but I now have the color too! Thank you soooo much Marta for giving me a beautiful color that is so complimentary of my skintone and for brightening me up for the current spring season. You made it so flawless for me to transition from winter to spring season. I finally have my dream hair and the best part is it didn't cost me an arm and a leg.
