Quality work at a great price 3/3/2015

We took our minivan to Ron's because the heat didn't seem to be working right. Ron's said the heat works, maybe you didn't turn up the thermostat high enough, and they charged us for the diagnostic. About 3 months later, the check engine light came on right before we took the van into a dealership for a factory recall, so we had the dealership check the engine light as well. They said our water valve was leaky and this would cause the heat not to work as it should. I took the van back to Ron's, they replaced the water valve at half the cost of the dealership, plus they credited my original diagnostic cost I had paid. That shows honesty and integrity, and when you couple that with quality work at a great price, Ron's is unbeatable! more

Can't teach an old car new tricks. 1/19/2015

Your service is always top notch as far as I am concerned, but the last time my 2003 Envoy was in for service, it cost about $1800. The car runs great, but the oil pressure gauge is not working again, and once in a while, the speedometer stops working for a while. The ABS, service 4wheel drive and service brakes lights are always on. The car has no trade in value, I just wanna keep it because it 'works fine'. It's just to complicated a car for my taste. So - you are doing your job great, and it's not your job to tell me to get rid of my pile of new parts in a defective skeleton; I just want it clear that whenever I bring it in, I am just looking for your doing stuff for the car so that it won't break down while I am taking Martha to the Olive Garden in Ankeny. Out of all the auto centers, this is the one to go! 1/7/2015

I went to many other places before coming to this one, and all the other places wouldn't touch my car being a Volkswagen! But Rons Auto repair took on the challenge and found what was wrong with my car in a matter of seconds and got it fixed right away! They saved my life, and just in time for this awful snow weather we are having. more

Perfect in every way! 12/19/2014

I am a fairly new customer. I have now visited Ron's three times. I have found scheduling an apt. easy, and one time I just stopped by and they were able to help me right then. The employees are friendly and really care. Most important i have been pleased with the repair my car has received.The repair shop has become my new home for oil changes and repairs. One added benefit that is kind of nice is that Starbuck's is close and makes for a nice place to wait for a quick repair. All I can say is thank you and I will be back. more

My daughter's car had to be towed in. She is a student and we are six hours away. Rons looked over car and surmised it need a new fuel pump regulator. It was changed out and they offered rides or pick up to get car. Didn't try to add more things on and just focused on why car wasn't running. Thank you! more

I came in for an oil change knowing I needed brakes replaced also, but did not think it could be accomplished in the time I had available. They got right on it and finished both jobs before the time I said I would have to leave. more

...this time at Ron's Auto, I had new brakes installed. Listen to this.....they gave me a prompt ride to work ...fixed my brakes by noon and came back under the estimated price AND they let me use a coupon from the newsletter that I knew about but did NOT have in hand but they GAVE it to me.. I highly recommend Ron's Auto TO EVERYONE./ Thanks you guys!!!!! more

I have lived in Ames for a few years now and my experience with Ron's Auto Repair has been nothing but positive. After having issues with several other auto repair centers it was refreshing to be able to have my car worked on and trust that it was in good hands. I wasn't pressured to have additional (unnecessary) work done to my car and the services I did require were performed well and promptly. Great price, great staff, and overall great experience. Keep it up! more

Scheduled at my convenience and serviced while I waited. I don't understand what "Shop Supplies" are, and why their cost is always about the same percentage of the total cost. (I'm guessing it is a method to increase revenue for the business.) more
