Most if not all of my experience with Redmond Parks has been with classes taken at Farrel McWhirter Park. I have been pleased with the classes. I like the fact that you can register online. I really like to do stuff online rather than talking on the phone!
My son has taken a series of pony classes at the park. They are affordable and offer a lot of riding time for each student. There is a pony club and the members of the club volunteer as leads for the classes. Children learn about safety around horses, the parts of the saddle, how to saddle the horse, the standards of riding, etc. Parents who go with the students get to walk the trails at Farrel McWhirter for a bit of exercise! Although last time we walked a VERY muddy trail at the park and I got my nice clean tennis shoes very dirty.
I look forward to taking more pony classes at Farrel McWhirter!
