We have been taking our chihuahuas to Raccoon Valley for almost 20 years. All of the staff have been wonderful with our pets. I feel they added 3 or 4 years to our 16 year old Binky and our 14 year old Pepper. We take our dogs for regular checkups and when something comes up where our dogs need special care that Racoon Valley cannot give, they direct us to the best in that field. We still take BooBoo our 12 year old there and would never use anyone else. more

I have been taking my dogs to Raccoon Valley for over 20 years. I have, with one exception, always been treated with kindness and have felt that my animals were truly important to the staff there. Dr. Lanza is without a doubt, the most caring woman I have the pleasure of knowing. I'm so glad that she's there to take care of my 'babies.' Recently I had to have my almost 16 year old shih tzu put to sleep. Obviously this was a terrible time for me since I had been owned by him since he was 8 weeks old. Dr. Lanza cared for him all of his life, and thankfully was able to end it for him comfortably and lovingly. She was kind and loving to both me and my pet, and made me know that I was doing the right thing for my precious Jerry. I also received a lovely sympathy card and beautiful poem from her. She definitely goes above and beyond. I can't say enough good about her and would highly recommend her to anyone. more

My first introduction to RVAH was about 15 years ago. I made the mistake of buying a Dalmatian puppy from a pet store. When he was 4 months old he went into kidney failure. I took him to RVAH where he was treated by Dr. Flac. He was there with them for a week and eventually died. Each day I'd stop to visit him and Dr. Flac would update me on what was happening. In the end, there was nothing they could do, but they helped me say good-by to that little guy with as much care as they could. I wanted to get another dog and Dr. Flac recommended I stay away from the very over-bred Dalmatians. I ended up with a Corgi - then a few years later a second. I also have two cats. She has been absolutely wonderful with every visit and every ailment. I can't say enough good things about the care I know they've given to my pets! more

I have always (at least 16 years) been impressed with the service that I have received with the various doctors. Although the vet visit is usually stressful (injuries) I have always felt like someone else cared about my animals From Dr. Lanza to Dr. Flack to those in between to Dr. Jogan. On two occasions, I have felt that I was bothering the vet and that she wished I had not brought my animal in-unfortunately both occasions were with Dr. Carpentier. I now look at the wall sign when I get in the office and my heart sinks when I see her name because I know that I am going to leave feeling worse than when I arrived. There are six animal hospitals closer to my home but I like to go where I feel comfortable and have faith in the doctors. Help me keep my faith!! more

I brought my guinea pig because my vet was closed. She wasn't eating or drinking much. They told me she was dehydrated, needed vitamin c and should stay with them until she could eat regular food on her own (it would cost around 299), she may need a stomach x ray (which would cost another $130) because when the vet squeezed her stomach she screached. Might have to file her teeth (another $200) and make sure she didn't have mites.I stressed a concern about price. I was told I'd have to leave a small deposit ($250)\r The next morning I got a call to pick her up because she was "trying" to eat the critical care food they were giving her and her teeth looked fine. I asked if they had checked for mites but there was nothing in the records. I called before picking her up hat night around 5pm, asked again about the mites....still noone knew. The total was $179 and a check for the difference would be mailed to me. I picked her up at 7pm with instructions to change her diet, THAT WAS IT. My g more
