My first introduction to RVAH was about 15 years ago. I made the mistake of buying a Dalmatian puppy from a pet store. When he was 4 months old he went into kidney failure. I took him to RVAH where he was treated by Dr. Flac. He was there with them for a week and eventually died. Each day I'd stop to visit him and Dr. Flac would update me on what was happening. In the end, there was nothing they could do, but they helped me say good-by to that little guy with as much care as they could. I wanted to get another dog and Dr. Flac recommended I stay away from the very over-bred Dalmatians. I ended up with a Corgi - then a few years later a second. I also have two cats. She has been absolutely wonderful with every visit and every ailment. I can't say enough good things about the care I know they've given to my pets!
