These people really know their stuff! I love it when an Indian restaurant focuses more on refinement of masalas and spices than just the heat, and some of these masalas could really come from my mother's Maharastrian kitchen. Definitely try the CHAI. I also really appreciate how they've chosen to present the cuisine so elegantly, among some really beautiful art and with a fabulous, THICK wine-list.
What really must not be overlooked about this restaurant is SERVICE. Everyone in the dining area knows their stuff, and rarely is one neglected. In fact, it's feels rather like you are a very special member of a royal family- a comfortable, relaxed elegance.
Some people think Plainfield's a bit pricey, but I think for the amount of food you get and all that goes with it, it's really an evening that shouldn't be missed.
Pros: service, ambience, patio, parking
Cons: crowded weekends
