Best

I have tried many places on Eat Street and Ping's is by far the best in terms of food and price. I don't know why anyone would not recommend it! It has earned its place rightfully...

My husband and go to Ping's about once per month. The food is a little above average where concerning Chinese restaurants. The waiters, on the other hand, are from that overheat...

YUMMM 7/30/2010

I keep driving by this place so I decided to go in and try their lunch buffet one afternoon during my lunch break. I brought my co- workers along too since they were craving chinese. The food always came out fresh and I didn't have to eat any gross food that sits at the buffet all day. Ping's has one buffet bar, but everything on it was really good. Because it IS small, all the food, such as fried rice, potstickers, lo mein, cream cheese puffs, sesame chicken, and chicken wings were nice and hot. This is one of my favorite places to go for lunch with my co- workers now, and when I attend conventions at the convention center. Their location is so convenient, I just walk a few minutes and I get to eat the best chinese on eat street. Pros: Great food. more

Best Chinese Delivery in MPLS!!! 8/19/2009

Pings was SO much better than Star Dragon (other Chinese delivery option in Minneapolis). They had quality meats and seafood, flavorfull dishes and fresh veggies. We had singapore noodles and 8 treasures-stir-fry, both listed under "Pings Specialties" on the menu. We also had an app, veggie potstickers, which were OKAY, next time I'll try the eggrolls. Best of all they deliver right to your door, so no complaints here. Pros: Delivered hot, great shrimp, chicken, meats and veggies Cons: Potstickers were okay. more

An OK place 2/28/2007

I went to Ping's on the recommendation of a friend. I love cream cheese wontons, so I tried these that said they had curry in them. BE WARNED! There is not much else but curry in them. The cashew chicken is delicious, with honey roasted cashews in the mix, and the sweet and sour isn't bad either. The decor is semi-fancy, so could be a good date place, or a nice place to hang out with friends. They have a big bar inside, though I haven't tried the drinks. Still the only Chinese that delivers in Loring! Pros: great servers, deliery Cons: some items not described correctly more

Unprofessional service, average food. 12/25/2006

We came here on a weekday evening and I was pleased when we were warmly greeted and shown to a table. We were however disappointed with the unprofessional service from our waitstaff with the abrupt personal questions, incessent humming and dropping of silverware, and thumbs on our plates they were passed out. The food is decent but Chinese food is better had at other locations on Nicollet in Minneapolis. more

They deliver 10/13/2006

**I only order delivery from here** The food is passable, but barely. The prices are WAY out of range, but... they're the only Chinese place that delivers this far on Eat Street. If you don't mind getting in your car and driving a handful of blocks south, there are a bunch of places around 24th Street to 28th Street that are WAY better. Pros: Delivery Cons: Foods only so-so more

Ping's - the only delivery in MPLS. 1/24/2006

Ping's, a loaded question posing as a restaraunt in MPLS. Just say "Ping's" and folk who live downtown will either swoon or swear. Personally, I swear. Squatting like a sugar-coated buddha on prime real-estate on Eat-Street, Ping's looks like a throw back to 1970's era chinese restaurants. But once you get past that facade, you find yourself shocked into the new millenium by prices that seem to laugh at you. Ping's is the only widely known chinese food delivery place. My normal order is egg foo young and the appetizer platter. That is $26. If you want fish sauce for your egg roll, add $1. They actually charge you for fish sauce, and not just a little, but one dollar. The food is tasty, which owes much to the "no spices and lots of sugar" school of cooking. I wouldn't compare Ping's to McDonald's, but, welll....yeah, I guess I am. Pros: Delivery Cons: Price, Horrible service, As real as chow mein. more

Great food with OUTSTANDING service! 1/21/2006

I have been a cusomer at Ping's since 1989. While the food is fantastic, the service that I have received has always been cheerful and attentive. The employees always greet customers cordially. My favorite dish is the Frangrant Beef with Broccoli. Pros: Excellent menu, Outstanding service, Nice drinks Cons: decor needs updating more

Only if you want asian delivery. 11/20/2005

Fairly expensive, bland taste, mediocre (at best) service, tacky out-dated atmosphere BUT they deliver. So, if you're like me (so over driving to take out), order Pings. It's alright food. Pros: Delivery Cons: Bland taste, atmosphere, service. more

Great experience 3/26/2003

Tried Ping's last night not knowing anything about it. The food was great but the waitstaff was even better. Visited the Oceanaire fairly recently and can definitely say that their waiters could learn a thing or two from Ping's. Thanks for the great evening. Pros: service, atmosphere, food Cons: parking more

real pineapple 11/9/2002

It's my aunts favorite place to eat. It's clean and the wait staff is nice. So over all worth the trip, you have to try their sweet and sour chicken. They use real pineapple. more

Forgetable 11/9/2002

Pings has a nice reputation with the theator croud because it's close to several. It's icy and dramatic decor made it seem quite hip at the time but is simpley too much like a Love Boat set now. There is absolutly nothing wrong with the food that Wolfgang Puck couldn't fix. The fusion has fused. But do try it if you want your husband to admit that not only can he be adventurous but like it too! Pros: near theaters, very digestable, easy & breezy Cons: boring, parking, pricey more

Tasteless Fair 11/8/2002

I was working 4 blocks from this resturant and decide to have dinner delivered. The food arrived later than expected. The food was a tastless fair. I have not had the desire to dine on this tastless fair again. Pros: near work, near home, easy access bulding Cons: poor delivery, no distinct flavor, too small area more

awesome buffet 7/23/2002

the lunch buffet is the greatest undiscovered buffet in town. I say that because it's never too busy. The food is standard Chinese fare but done just right. For the price it's the best lunch value in town!!! more
