HORRIBLE! From A to Z. Incompetent staff mostly and an errogant Dr. who thinks he is above all others... Absolutely no compassion and a shame that all of those years in medical school can't teach you the first thing about empathy. The only good thing is that you have the opportunty to change for the better and actually care for you patients and not their $$$. I sincerely hope that you take this to heart because; I'm not the final Judge.... more

ALSO ONE OF MY WORST EXPERIENCES 4/7/2012

Late in December of 2001 a drunk driver caused a roll-over wreck I was in. The vehicle I was in rolled, and rolled... three times before landing on the tires, blowing them all out as well. And then bursting into flames! (It was on HWY 412 at speeds over 70MPH) My neck was broken. I was diagnosed upon arrival at St John's as a quadraplegic! I had a wonderful, gifted neurosurgeon who saved my life, restored movement to limbs and digits (Thank God) even if he couldn't get all bone frags from ground up C4 out of my spinal cord. C5 was gone as well and dics blown above and below that. I have rods and plates, and screws from C3 to C6 holding my neck together. I was put thru a rigorous round of inpatient rehab. That is where I meet Dr. Anthony. Even though he KNEW the floating bone frags were there, even though he KNEW two screws were actually too long and pressd into the lining of my spinal cord causing horrible pain, I DID the rehab! I did a frickin YEAR of outpatient rehab! Had to learn to walk again, had to relearn EVERYTHING! Even shaving my legs and tying my dang shoes was a challange at first. All this was not without rewards. I felt extremely proud of myself at each obsticle I tackled. My youngest son was 16 mnths at the time of the accident and at times it seemed we were learning the same things at the same time (balance, walking, swimming)... So anyway, I was at an apt in Dr. Anthony's, my husband was with me, and mind you I had no history of drug use, prescription or otherwise, other than what Dr. Anthony was prescribing. This so-called ""caring individual"" called me a frickin JUNKIE!!!! I was NOT asking for an increase, I was NOT calling in early, I was NOT having crazy excuses like ""Oh, my purse was stolen, or I lost 'em, or someone broke in"" Those of you searching for a pain control doc know what I'm talking about! You know the ones in the office you can always tell are the ""problem"" patients. I was NOT IN THAT GROUP. Dr. Anthony was simply refering to the meds HE had been prescribing and decided it was for JUNKIES after a certain length of time. WTF?? My husband of course had a few choice words, and needless to say, I asked for my records and looked elsewhere. The pain control doc I ened up with listened verry intently to the above mentioned ordeal. Went to St. John's & check out the film of my surgery & watched over the weekend (I did not know they filmed neurosurgery) At my next apt my new doc agreed with me, ""No, you are not a frickin Junkie he says, and I'm terribly sorry Dr. Anthony planted that into your head!"" He said you are an incredibly lucky, lucky individual who is in a helluva lot of pain."" He went on to say that he'd been in the same group with Dr. Anthony and actually left for the EXACT same reason I did! He agreed Dr. Anthony was acting like and ass! Maybe taking things too personal, I dont know what his deal was, but it took a lot of convincing from my new doctor for me to start to believe that I was NOT some horrible person...ie JUNKIE...God, I thought I'd never get over what Anthony said! And keep in mind folks, I had NO pharmacutical history up until the time I met that Jackass in in-patient rehab trying to get my legs & arms to function in the most God aweful pain that any one person should ever have to be in! So I say keep looking!! Dont settle for Dr. Anthony!! He IS NOT the careing individual these reviews would lead you to believe. I've been with my pain doc for over seven (7) years now, and I meet more and more people in that office that have come there frustrated and in wheelchairs, on canes or crutches and some literally dying from cancer that have nothing but bad things to say about good ole Doc Anthony! There are careing, compassionate ones out there, but Anthony aint one of em. Well now unless you have excellent insurance and your income is over 100K a year and then he's your best buddy. Somthing just isn't right with that. more

I was refered by my family doctor. 2/21/2011

I was referred there by my family physican. And I didnt know what to accept from the time I got there to the time I left. I had a MRI and a CT. And I was informed right befoe each procedure. I hated not knowing what was going to happening to me. I had to get these injections in my back. And if I would of known about the side effects I would not of got them. I didnt feel like I had a choice in anything that was happening to me. I just didnt like the overall process. I dont feel like my pain issue was helped at all. The injections made me crazy the next couple of days. It was the worst doctors visit I had ever been to. And I left in more pain than what I came in. more

Finally! Someone who cared! 1/4/2011

Dr Anthony and his staff were the first healthcare professionals I found who actually care about me! I have suffered for so long, most physicians treated me as a drug seeker or mental patient, I had reached the end. All I wanted was at least one day without pain. For those of you who suffer with chronic pain you can certainly relate to what I'm talking about. Dr. Anthony listened & together we came up with a plan to at least be able to function and get to 75% better, which to me was a God send! I have been seeing him for over a year now and I can honestly say, I am slowly getting better. These doctors cannot do all the work for you, you must give it your all and tell them your experiences as you go along. Only God can cure you completely, but even with God, he helps those who help themselves. I believe God sent me to Dr Anthony and I am thankful he did. We are on the path to at least a semi normal life and I am so grateful to Dr. Anthony and his staff for all they have done and are doing. I highly recommend them to anyone suffering! more

Worst Experience! 12/8/2010

The staff was very kind and considerate but I went to Dr. Anthony because I have CFS and fibroymyalgia, Degerative Disc Disease with ruptured and bulging discs. He told me he was going to be my ""Worst Nightmare."" He said I needed to exercise which I am in total agreement, it's the type of exercise that I don't agree with. I told him since I have alot of exhaustion I can try to do walking, treadmill, stationary bike or pilates. I have had 3 broken bones and a torn ligament in three years. My Orthopedic Surgeon said I better not even look at a stairmaster and to east into a exercise program and when I am in pain to stop because my bone can't hold up to regular hard exercise like normal people. I was told by Dr. Anthony that I needed high impact aerobics, and if anyone is familiar with CFS and Fibro. you can't do that! If you over exert yourself (or me) I would be in bed the next day and not be able to go to work. Dr. Anthony told me to push myself anyways, I told I could not possibly do that kind of exercise. He gets his information from his medical journals and he said everything I have read about my disease is not true. I know how my body is and what it can and cannot do. I knew he was not the right Dr. for me when he asked if I have seen a shrink. I told him I work in the mental health field. What is scary is he treats other patients like me, that can barely get out of bed and giving this advice is wrong. I wonder how dated his medical journals are? I called back the next day to remove myself as a patient and told them I have enough nighmares I sure didn't need to pay for one. If I wanted a exercise trainer I would have went to the gym. more

Great Experience! 11/16/2010

I have been dealing with chronic migraines, to the extent I was unable to work for 6 months last year. I recently had an epidural injection performed by Dr. Kalvin White. I was very anxious about the appointment due to the reviews I had read. I do not know where these negative reviews could be coming from. The staff was very friendly and professional. Dr. White explained the procedure in great detail. He made very sure I had no questions. The staff made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire procedure. Awesome job Pain Management of Tulsa and Dr. Kalvin White! more

Excellent Staff and Doctors 11/12/2010

I am grateful for Dr. K White and his staff for saving my life. I moved back to Oklahoma in 2005 and couldn't find a doctor that would treat mebecause everyone is labled a drug seeker. In 2007 the pain was to much and I started to think about ending my life. My husband and mother-in-law suggested ot try again . I called a hospital in Tulsa and they suggested Dr. Anthony's office. I was given an appointment with a new doctor who had just entered their practice. I have never been made to feel that I was a drug seeker by Dr. White or his staff. They are professional and caring and deserve a 5 star rating! more

Grateful to Dr. Anthony 10/7/2010

I am a worker comp patient that was struggling with pain due to injury in cervical and shoulder. I had been to several doctors and them disagree with where most of pain was generating from. Went through a frustrating, painful 2 1/2 years for correct diagnosis. I felt I had given up on getting adequate medical care. Dr. Anthony was an IME and treating doctor I was sent to in May. He believed in me when I told him I was in pain. I am sensitive to meds so not able to manage pain by medications. MRI showed some bulging discs and bone spurs, etc. Nothing noteable to fix. Dr. Anthony was able to get everything going the right direction by recommending surgery as best option after epidurals & conservative treatments had failed. He performed a discogram and it showed cervical discs with tears. I now can have a surgical procedure and get my life back. I believe Dr. Anthony was a God send. more

Caring & Dedicated Medical Practice 9/26/2010

The entire staff at Pain Management of Tulsa are dedicated and caring medical professionals. I have been in their medical practice for several years and I have never experienced the behaviors some of the reviewers are posting. Each phone call has been handled in a courteous manner. Dr. Anthony alwasys takes time to listen to concerns and review the patients understanding of the treatment he provides. more

To: Burnsurvivor 9/23/2010

I have been to a few pain management facilities in my walk with chronic pain and have NEVER experienced the level of sheer incompetence or just a sheer lack of caring as I have with the office staff at Tulsa pain Management. They don't return calls, they lie or misrepresent wheither a doctor is in or available and act as if they are in charge of your treatment. ANY Dr. who relies on their office staff to sift through patients and make judgement wheither or not they are a drug seeker is a ground for malpractice in itself. office staff is in NO WAY qualified to make that judgement. As for a patien getting angry, what choice do they have after being given the run-around repeatedly? As you should be aware, uwe who are in constant pain 24/7 365 have a higher stress level than most and when you percieve that someone is putting your wellbeing at risk it does and should make you angry. If the Dr.'s at Tulsa Pain would take more of an active role and actually communicate with their patients and spend more than 7 minutes with them they would not have as many bad reviews as they do. I wouldn't recomend anyone go there. my case is WELL documented and I have been treated with complete disdain and it is the first time in my life I have had to endure a power trip by ofice personell more

Cut The Doc Some Slack 7/19/2010

I stumbled across this website quite by accident. I read the reviews. Now I would like to make some points. I worked as an Office Manager for two psychiatrists. They also prescibe narcotics. The staff hears a lot of ""I've lost my script; someone stole my purse and my meds were in it; someone broke into my home and stole my meds; I accidently flushed them down the toilet""; you get the picture. Hence, this is one reason the staff might seem distant. Not to mention the abuse the staff receives from a patient ""out of meds & needing them."" Pros: Not A Patient Nor Employee Past or Present more

Do Not Go To This Clinic if You Need Pain Management 6/19/2010

I saw Dr Kalvin White and he is the worst doctor ever. All he wants to do is procedures (whatever makes him the most money) and he did nothing to help get my pain under control. He treated me like my pain was not real, and when I told him where it hurt, he said ""Ive never heard of that before."" I looked it up, and people with the kind of pain I'm in, complain of pain in those areas all the time, which tells me he has no clue what he's doing. He has the biggest God Complex I've ever seen, and so do the staff. I have read other reviews from people who had similar experiences with other doctors from this clinic, and I feel very sorry for those people. I have never been treated with such disrespect, and I have never been made to feel so low, like my pain was all in my head and to just get over it. There ARE still people with true pain who need help. This doctor and staff were NOT willing to offer ANY help at all. I would never recommend this place to anyone and I will be writing a full complaint. Cons: Absolutely No Help in Managing my Pain more

WORST EVER 6/19/2010

This is the WORST clinic in Tulsa. The staff is rude, uncaring. The other reviewers are right! You WILL get jerked off your meds for no reason at all, as did I. The nurses ARE rude and they treat people like they are bugs that need to be squashed. I feel sorry for anyone who goes to this clinic. I will be writing a HUGE complaint to the oklahoma Drs medical board. Pros: Nothing Cons: BAD DOCTOR, BAD STAFF more

Your negative reviews are not helping your situation 6/3/2010

those of you that have such negative things to say on here about your treatment at the pain clinic are wasting your time. those who are being negative and not trying to resolve your issues in a professional manner are probably going to encounter these same problems in every clinic that you walk into. the staff at the pain management clinic have a very stressful job as it is and if you resort to anger or negativity it is only going to cause a red flag on your file and make it that much harder for the doctors to treat you. there are so many people who manipulate doctors today to get narcotic drugs that they have to rely partly on their staff to help them pick out the abusive users. i was severely burned 15 years ago while in the military and have been dealing with several different doctors and their offices ever since and i am yet to come across a doctor/doctors office that is not ready and willing to help me have a better quality of life. as far as pain mnagement providers. they have to walk a very thin line just keep their license and stay out of jail. if they just gave drugs to every patient that asked for them or through a fit when they didn't get them they would be drug dealers and not pain manangement doctors. i have been a patient at this office for 2 years and am very pleased. i myself had a slight communication problem with my doctors staff and was able to resolve it by simply explaning the problem at my next appointment. i have witnessed many patients yelling and screaming and making a huge issue out of something not so major numerous times in the past 15 years and it has never got them anywhere. that is not the only pain management clinic in tulsa if you are not happy with them simply go somewhere else, but i am sure they all operate along the same guidelines, they do not just pick on a patient to make their life miserable. again they have to be very strict because of dope seekers and it makes it that much harder for those of us who need our doctors to treat us without having to worry about us getting them in trouble for treating our pain and giving us the quality of life that we deserve. my advice to those of you who have a problem is to go somewhere else. i personaly go to Dr. Morris who is very sincere and good at what he does, but my PCP goes to Dr. Anthony and has nothing but great things to say about his treatment. i came across these reviews today while looking for the phone number and was amazed at some of the ridiculous things that some of you had to say. it makes me wonder about your integrity and honesty. Pros: great doctors Cons: to dang far from my house, but worth it. more

One of the best doctors I have encountered 5/5/2010

My family owes Dr. Anthony a great debt for improving the quality of life for my husband. He didn't give up on us when other doctors in his field told us to live with the pain. He helped us obtain more treatment and ultimately has always been open to discussion about management of his pain. I am a legal professional and I highly recommend Dr. Anthony and his clinic. He is beyond competent in his field and truly cares. We have had over 20 procedures in his office with no bad results or complications. The nature of medicine will require that there will be a few bad outcomes. However, I am confident that Dr. Anthony minimizes those statistics and overcomes many bad outcomes by his superior competence. I highly recommend Dr. Anthony. Pros: He is compassionate, thorough, concered and competent more

Cut off meds 3/17/2010

cut off meds cold because workers comp canceled insurance or changed medication providers had been on meds for 15 years Pros: good docter Cons: bad staff more

I messed up 8/14/2009

I have been going to doc Anthony and he is great I went to the ER and the ER doc was hateful and mean, so I left and called his office this was on a sunday he called me back not someone else I didn't know he was very comppasionate and carring. The only thing I don't like is that I feel when I call to tell his staff something like my med is making me puck that i'm not so sure it gets to him, I had an appmnt a few weeks back but i dnt get to see doc i seen I think her name was Shila I'm horrable with names she is vry sweet but i don't think she listen to me as well as I would like I was told to take less norco and more ibprophen so i did and i then started pucking up bld i went to my pcp and she did tons of test on me and said i was taking to much Ib I didn't relize i signed a contract and well the rest is left up to him but he is a very wounderful doc. And i too had to pay to get my meds filled but they let me go for awhile I think its fair if you go to your pcp if you don't pay you don't see!!! anyhow thats how mine is. I'm sure his staff has better things to do then get on here and write a review they prob don't even know this is here! I stumbled up on it looking for his address! Pros: Doc Anthony is very carring I haven't seen a bad side to him Cons: Not sure if the whole story gets to him more

Terrible Staff 4/21/2009

Dr. Anthony is an excellent, thorough and caring doctor. Unfortunately Dr.'s offices are really run by the staff and not the Dr. How do I know thi? I have been a pharmaceutical rep for many years in this area and I am a patient of Dr. Anthony's. I came to him because of his excellent reputation in the medical community. Unfortunately he has done a terrible job with his staff and given them entirely too much autonomy. When people know they have power over you and an ego (actually inferiority complex) MARTHA, not to name names, is the big decision maker. I have zero issues with the staff or the Dr. because I have a previous relationship as a rep but I have seen what happens behind closed doors and it is almost as if Martha/Monica and company (This does not include Dr. Anthony) enjoy being hostile towards the patients and this is very unfortunate and was not the way his office ran before becoming so large. He has done a poor job in delegating so much power to a person that is a true narcisist. Pros: Great, comopassionate and caring Dr. Cons: Dr. too busy and delegateds much of power to staff more
