Best

It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at referer.us/8/GoodHotelDeals They usually have some pretty good deals on there!

sure, i'd go again 9/11/2002

Good scenery out the window of the river esp. on a sunny day. Be sure you request that in the reservation. Waitstaff could have been a bit more attentive to making sure you had your drinks, and buffet staff could have been more attentive to little things like making sure there is a fork/tongs to serve the cheese platter selections (when you have to use your fingers that's a bad sign). Entrees were good, crepes were delicious! Didn't have an omelette. Portion sizes were well thought out (mini-scones, etc.). Coffee...yuck. For $26 you expect coffee that isn't stale. They get a big fat F in the coffee department! But the one thing I can say is that I didn't leave feeling overly stuffed like most buffets. Overall, it's excellent, maybe not for $26 though! Pros: good scenery, good crepes, good desserts Cons: bad coffee, not worth $26, good parking more

overrated! 9/2/2002

When you pay $26 for a brunch buffet, the best item on the buffet should NOT be the waffles. Unfortunately that was the case here. To their credit, the waffles were damn good. But for the most part, the food was good and plentiful. I was expecting something closer to excellent, though. The turkey and ham at the carving station were both processed (yet still tasty), there were only two seafood items (cold shrimp and salmon), and the desserts were downright bad (too chewy, too cakey, too dry, etc...). There were three choices of potatoes - possibly to disguise the fact that there wasn't much of a selection of entrees. This is the second-best in the city??? Pros: good parking, neat building, on time reservation Cons: overpriced, not enough selection, ok food, not the best more

Fantastic ambiance and location. Excellent brunch, including made-from-scratch Belgian waffles and cooked-to-order omelets more

A good night out, great food! 8/18/2002

Appetizers and desserts were good, the salads fantastics, the entrees amazing. My boyfriend had raw tuna with wasabi aoli and wontons and it was one of the best things we have ever tasted, putting my excellent halibut to shame. They didn't have the first two wines we ordered, but they did give us a small appetizer on the house. The timing of the courses was perfect for a long romantic meal. It was expensive, but it has been the best food I have had so far in Minneapolis. The decor, while still inviting, is pretty empty and bare and isn't as decorative as I would have imagined for the price. I wish the weather had been better so we could have ridden on the horse drawn carriages outside. Pros: complimentary valet, romantic, great food Cons: poor views, bare decor more

An Unexpected Romantic Getaway 6/20/2002

Staying at the Inn made a routine conference into a romantic treat. We enjoyed our stay very much. Our room was spacious and overlooked the river. At the time Minnesota was having record warm weather, so we enjoyed the warm breezes and walking outdoors. We visited some interesting restaurants that were within walking distance. The staff at the Inn were very friendly and helpful. The room was interestingly decorated with a reindeer motif and antique furniture. We would like to visit the Inn again. The restaurant was also very good, especially the fresh fish dishes, walleye and salmon. Pros: Unique more

Great View 5/21/2002

I have been here for wedding receptions, dates and just drinks after work and I have never been let down. Great atmosphere really adds to the experience and has a beautiful view the Mississippi River. more
