WORST salon experience ever! They did not follow my instructions, gave me a horrible haircut cutting off 5 inches when i came in for a trim, and were incredibly rude when I expressed my unhappiness. unfortunate highlights 4/18/2006

I have been to Minas more than a few times over the years and gotten everything from decent service to, the last time I went, just plain awful! I won't be going back, and would not reccomend them. For almost 200 dollars I got streaky, fake looking highlights and an uneven haircut. I was rushed throught the whole thing and had to leave with wet hair. more

Still The Best in the Triangle! 4/15/2006

I have been going to Mina's for years now, and I can honestly say that they remain the best in the Triangle! Not only is Mina's a full service salon, the salon is beautiful, always clean and everyone there is always pleasant and willing to answer my questions. Even the front desk staff knows my name and what stylist I see. I am always warmly welcomed, and my hair always looks great (I get compliments all the time!). worst manicure and pedicure 4/11/2006

Rude front staff. The worst manicure and pedicure I have ever had. The nails were not shaped or filed evenly. The regular pedicure is suppose to last 1 hr as opposed to their mini pedicure; well don't bother my regular pedicure was less than 30 min. I am not one to complain about any service but I honestly can't believe what a horrible job they did. I have received better manicures and pedicures for less than half the price. Dont care for the atmosphere and stylist dont know what they are doing or at least dont' give the inpression that they know what they are doing. I was very uncomfortable in this salon. Don't recommend. more

Mission complete 2/20/2006

I'm new to the area and have spent over $500 in 2 other salons trying to find someone with some talent for coloring my hair but, could have done better trying to do it myself. I've come to realize that "word of mouth" is more than a cliche. An always fabulous looking co-worker of mine recommended me to Jaymie at Mina's salon. I am so pleased! Jaymie listened to my needs and made color suggestions that compliment my skin tones. She fixed my terrible, unnatural color with beautiful highlights. My color looks natural and shines. more

GREAT HAIRCUT 1/31/2006

After having a real horrrible haircut by a salon near Falconbridge, Sheila at Minas was able to restore my hair. She is very pleasant and accomodating. She listens and discusses how she will cut your hair. I would definitely recommend her. Pros: Good parking more

Great manicure & pedicure! 1/19/2006

First time coming to the salon and had a manicure and pedicure by Mariana and it was great. I had problems finding a good salon in the area and Minas worked out great for me. While visiting Chapel Hill my friend recommended Mina's Studio as an all day retreat. They call it Queen for a Day, and thats exactly how I felt. The staff was very personable and all the services were way beyond my expectations. I'm still getting compliments on my hair color (thanks Eileen). Next time I'm in town I'll definitely be back! I went to Mina's in a hair crisis-not knowing exactly what I wanted the end result to be. But after a few minutes in the chair Heather knew exactly what I was going for and created the best look for me. The best hair place in the area! 1/2/2006

I have visited almost every other premium hair salon in this area, as a dark, fine-haired brunette who has always just wanted to be blonde. After many nightmares of double-processing and total bleaching elsewhere, I came onto this website, and chose Mina's based on it's high rating. I called them on New Year's Eve, and they managed to fit me in for both a free consulatation and a long corrective appointment, that day, so that I wouldn't have to go out on New Year's with horrible roots showing. I had Heather as my stylist, and her work actually exceeded my expectations. She corrected the roots and the tone of the blonde, and for the first time EVER, it actually looks natural! The cut and blow-dry were just as top-notch as the color, and I can't wait to go back again. Finally I have found the best salon in Chapel Hill! Sadly this salon is not worth a repeat visit. I hoped to have a more trendy cut, and walked out with average ho-hum. The color was not even close to what I was told I would get. I had to go somewhere else to have it fixed. Pros: location Cons: knowledge, not up to date more

Great Experience and New Friends at Minas 12/29/2005

Love the atmosphere and people at Minas. Looking for the big city beauty salon feel but wanted to friendly atmosphere and I found it with Mina's Studio. Andre welcomed me right when I came in and that started a great afternoon at the salon. I like that they can provide so many different services to cover massage, manicure, hair, etc. Worked out great being close to Franklin Street too!! Pros: Style, Services, Attitude more

everything was fine - the salon was fine, the haircut was fine - just not exciting. If you are looking for a safe cut, you should be fine. But if you want funky or creative, keep looking. I am still looking for a salon here to create my San Francisco hairstyle... more

A Fairytale Ending! 8/16/2005

I am fairly new to North Carolina; I moved here in January 2004 with my USAF husband. I am originally from Dallas, Texas, so I was used to the big city life, with great salons, great shopping, etc. Upon moving to NC, I was devastated to find that NOBODY could cut hair! After two traumatic experiences, I finally banned NC salons and got my hair cut again in Dallas. However, I decided to take a chance and get my hair cut at Mina's Studio. I asked for the best stylist there, and they recommended Sheila to me. She is, in a nutshell, FANTASTIC. When my old stylist cut my hair, I'd get compliments DAILY... and now that I've got a competent stylist again, the compliments have come back full force. Now, any time anyone asks me where I get my hair cut, I simply say, "Sheila at Mina's Studio." Pros: Reasonable price, Relaxing atmosphere, Great stylist more

my hair needed help!! 7/26/2005

I was new to the area and a friend told me about Mina's. I was very impressed with how beautiful the salon was! I felt so relaxed and far away from my busy , busy everyday life. I also was lucky enough to get a wonderful stylist named Sheila... she was awesome! my hair was in such bad shape, from lots of color and highlighting ( not to mention i was having a bad day!) and she made me feel beautiful outside as well as in! I got a great cut, great color and what an outstanding personality she has! She made me laugh til my sides hurt! I now go to her on a regular basis and I wanted everyone to know how Sheila made me feel so much better about myself. Not only is she my stylist, I consider her my friend!!
