Great waxing services 7/29/2007

This was my first visit to Mina's and I will definitely be back! I had a bikini wax by Angela and my eyebrows done by Molly. Both were professional, on time, and wonderful! It was my first bikini wax and Angela put me at ease (I was terrified!). The outcome was perfect and I am now addicted! Molly really took her time on my eyebrows and did not let me leave until she felt they were perfect. She called it her "OCD" (smile). I walked out of there looking great and ready for vacation. Great manicure 6/14/2007

This was my first visit to Mina's. I had a manicure done by Carlos this morning and I really enjoyed myself. He did a great job on my nails (one of the best manicures I've had in a while), but most importantly, the salon and equipment were clean (right out of the barbicide container). I also really enjoyed talking with Carlos while he did my nails. Some nail techs leave you hanging in awkward silence while they work, but he was easy to talk to and had a lot of interesting things to say. Overall, a great experience! The real deal... 5/19/2007

I have had nothing but great experiences with Holly and their manicure/pedicure staff. I have used them for several years since living in Chapel Hill and love their work and appreciate their overall service. The main downside is they won't accept tips on credit cards which IMO short-changes their staff of deserved tips. I doubt there is a better full service salon in the area based on what friends and neighbors have told me over the past few years. Pros: Excellent stylists and mani/pedi staff Cons: Expensive more

I regularly get stopped by strangers who want to know where I got my hair cut. They wind up truly amazed when they find out it is colored as well. Louann is the best! more

Life Savers for a Northern transplant 5/2/2007

I moved to the South from up North and suddenly my straight hair went into frizz-action I'd never seen the likes of on me. I struggled for 2 years to find someone to perfect a cut that would allow my hair to hang straight and NOT flip up in the Chapel Hill summer. A neighbor whose hair I liked very much said I should try Alejandra at Mina's. I was already going there for my manicures and pedicures, so I booked an appointment after the manicurist also suggested I try her. Alejandra worked tirelessly and performed her magic just in time for my daughter's wedding last Fall. Today I would like to thank her, and everyone who works so hard at Mina's to help all of us feel/look beautiful. Martha's Foot Magic! 3/25/2007

Martha is the Queen of the 1 Hour Pedicure! I run, play tennis, and am hard on my feet, but they are soft and callous-free thanks to Martha. I see her once a month without fail, and she keeps me on my feet and in sandals! Her leg massage keeps me coming back for more! Erin at the front desk is a sweetheart and always remembers my name, making me feel welcome to be there. Finally, my husband sees Heidi for massages and says she is amazing! I highly recommend Mina's, and especially Martha! more

Best Place for Manicures and Pedicures! 3/22/2007

I tried several different spas in the area with average results before I found Mina's Studio. Mina's is by far the best place in the Triangle for a manicure and pedicure. I would definitely recommend Martha for the pedicures. Martha does an excellent job and is very professional and courteous to her clients. Not color experts 1/14/2007

While the atmosphere at Mina's is pleasant enough, LouAnn is not the color expert she advertises herself to be on the Mina's website. Twice I have left the salon to come home and find that my roots are red and the rest of my hair is brown. The first time I thought maybe she didn't notice since I left with wet hair and someone else washed me out so I went back the next day to left her try to fix it. It was better but still not an exact match. The second time, LouAnn cut and dried my hair after she did my color. She commented that she would need to tweak my formual next time but never said anything to indicate that my roots were once again not the same color as the rest of my hair. This time is actually worse because the first couple of inches of my hair off my scalp are three different colors. The worst part about this is that I was allowed to leave the studio with bad hair and the burden is put on me to go back to have it fixed. I am too disgusted at this treatment to go back to have it fixed. I also know another woman who had the exact same experience at Mina's. Obviously, they like to charge quality prices without providing quality service. more

Good cut, nice atmosphere 10/30/2006

This is a nice salon. They do everything too, from waxing to make-up. You can be confident that they will do a fine job b/c everyone is well trained. There was a little pressure to buy products, but just in the form of recommendations which is helpful if you're looking for something new. It's a little pricey for the service, though. I felt like I was paying for the peace of mind of knowing I was at a professional salon--which can be worth it. Pros: Great Stylists, Nice Atmosphere Cons: On the more expensive end more

caution advised 8/3/2006

In all fairness, my bad experience was with a single stylist. When I was (tactfully) unhappy with my hair, she became highly defensive and not only refused to correct it herself, but insisted that the other stylists could not "help" me either. I assume the management would have been more professional, if not apologetic, but I was so stunned, I didn't pursue it. And I can't help wondering if the employee's attitude reflects the employer's. This is the worst service I've ever received, bar none. more

Stellar Experience 6/13/2006

Mina's Studio will always be my #1 choice in the triangle! When I called for an emergency cut with my favorite stylist, I was told she wasn't available for several days, but the kind receptionist offered to put me on a waiting list and they'd give me call if anything opened up. To my surprise, they called later the same day and worked me in! I was impressed with the level of customer service from the front desk, but also with my stylist who never fails to make me feel wonderful and keeps my hair looking phenomenal! Mina's Studio is ahead of the rest in customer service, up-to-date styles and they manage to always make me feel at home and welcome in their space. Thanks! Pros: ambience, friendly, trendy more

Best Salon I've found yet in the Triangle... 5/10/2006

It has been a long journey finding someone I can trust to be my stylist, and in my profession, having a put together look is necessary when I give presentations to my clients. After finding a great stylist in Alejandra, I have been at ease knowing that I will walk out of Mina's looking great everytime. Cheryl at the front desk is always helpful in setting up a massage with Heidi as well, for a wonderful total package of relaxation and comfort - thanks to Mina's, the stress is gone when I go to the salon now! Recently I had a formal party and of course the only place I'll ever choose in chapel hill is Mina's! My favorite mini vacation spa! 5/9/2006

I felt compelled to write a review after becoming a new customer over 6 months ago - I always get star treatment at Mina's, from my entrance to my massage, facials, or even if all I do is have my hair styled - Mina's is the BEST. They always try to work around my schedule, and make me feel as though I am the only customer they will have that day. Its always refreshing to feel as though I'm on a mini vacation!
