They did a fantastic job reviving the colour on an aquamarine satin gown that I had damaged by dropping food on it and attempting to scrub it off myself. They used a ""dip"" that added a new coat of sheen to the whole dress and glossed over the patches. I subsequently sent them a red rug that had a number of stains on it. I was assured by Marc at the University Place store that it would look ""good as new"" as soon as they were done with the $200 dry-cleaning. It came back to me a month later looking no different, so I called them and they apologized and came and picked it up again. Another month later it finally came back to me, still stained. I very much wish they had not assured me it would look perfect or I would not have spent the money. Though I was pleased with what they did for my dress, I will not be using their service again. Great cleaners/tailors! 5/7/2009

Recently had an issue where my bridesmaid dress for my brother's wedding was late from the factory. Meurice Garment Care was extremely accommodating and helpful - they did a very last minute alteration for me, and steamed the dress - all within days. The alteration was perfect and I was very satisfied with the service I received. The people who work here are extremely nice and I would absolutely go back to them. I highly recommend Meurice Garment Care on Univ. Place for all your spot, soil & stain concerns. My experience with Meurice Garment Care was first class! Attentive and detail oriented staff carefully inspected my stained garment (silk print dress with a very large stain) which was cleaned and returned like new. One of the best hands down! 4/9/2009

I used to go there frequently a few years back but had stopped. Recently, since the beginning of this year I started to use them again and now there's a gentleman there named Marc who is an excellent addition! From day one he was very attentive and understanding to my needs and more importantly, he always offers helpful advice and suggestions so as to not have my garments end up in such a way where I have to keep bringing them back again and again for the same reason. A true gentleman! I'd recommend Meurice to anyone who wants their garments treated with the extra care, special attention, and uniqueness that Meurice gives each and every time. Pros: They give extra special attention to items that need it more

The Best Care... 4/8/2009

I had been a customer at Jeeves uptown,and thought there was not a cleaner in the city that could measure up. A friend suggested Meurice,and I have not been back to Jeeves. Marc,and the whole staff, are beyond friendly and attentive with anything you should need in a timely manner. Most importantly, your clothes come back in pristine condition sent on TRUE hangers, not wire ones. Those clothes that you spent all that money on should be treated well,to last. That is what Meurice does. Plus cold storage for furs,etc. I can't recommend them highly enough. Pros: Personal service and extra special care for your clothes more

The Most Friendly Service Around 4/1/2009

My belt buckle had broke about 2 months ago and I was frantic because I just knew that no one could be able to fix. For a short while I was correct. I went to neighboring services and they told me that there was nothing they could do and i would have to buy a new coat. Pros: Detailed-Oriented Service more

Maureen and staff couldn't have been more helpful or kind. From the first call to the rehang they were a pleasure to deal with and my silk curtains returned looking fresh and new (again). Highly recommended. Pros: best quality Cons: quality doesn't come cheap more

my daughter's dress was from a sample sale, there were large stains on the bottom. mark took care and gave us a lot of attention. the dress turned out beautifully. after it was cleaned we decided there needed to be some minor alterations. he was very good about working this out. the time was getting close. after the alterations, he pressed it again and then delivered it. we did not want to pay a lot for cleaning and i am very glad we did. it was worth every dollar. thsnk you mark and to Hiram for his beautiful alterations Pros: amazing care and attention for a special day Cons: pricey more

Quick alterations 2/28/2009

I have been looking for a taylor for a while and am happy I found this place. I took in 3 dresses and a pair of jeans to be altered. The service was friendly and quick. My clothes were done within 2 days. They even called me when they noticed one of my dresses had a stain to see if it would be ok to go ahead and clean it, at no charge to me. The dresses came out perfect, the jeans were still a tad to big but after a quick email, I was able to get them redone within a day, no questions asked. Everything was handed to me pressed and you can't even tell that the pieces have been altered. Very attentive staff, highly recommend! more

From Tan to Wedding Ready 2/24/2009

I researched Wedding Dress Restoration on the internet and asked some friends if they heard of anywhere to get a dress restored. My mother just passed away in December and I wanted to wear her wedding dress from 1966 at my August wedding. Unfortunately they didn't know how to preserve dresses and box them properly back then so when I opened up the box, the dress was a nice shade of TAN. The internet and friends pointed me to Meurice and from the moment I walked in the store I knew I brought my mothers dress to the right place. They made me feel very comfortable leaving something that meant so much to me in the hands of strangers and I could not wait to see what it would look like after restoration. Marc from Meurice was in constant contact via email with me and I felt like he was my personal friend walking me through this process. The dress only took 2 weeks to go from Tan to GEORGOUS. My friends joined me as I tried the dress on and I looked ready to walk down the aisle, or the back of the dry cleaning store. I felt and looked great and I just knew my mom would have loved seeing me in that white dress of hers. I am so appreciative of Marc and the crew over at Meurice. I felt like I had been a customer there for many years and I will definately be going back, so I probably will be! more

It was like getting a brand new coat! 1/28/2009

When I got my white coat, I knew that I was probably going to have issues with getting things on it! When I found a mystery stain when I was back home in Dallas, I took it to a cleaners there. They didn't fix the stain AT ALL, and I was really upset. Being that I go to school in NYC, I thought that there was a chance that somewhere there was hope. Meurice is AWESOME! 1/27/2009

I had accidentally spilled coffee on two of my roommate's shirts (one of which was Juicy!!!!!!) I felt terrible because I knew that both items were really expensive. Fortunately, Meurice Garment Care is right around the corner of my dorm. I knew they would SAVE THE DAY!!! The staff was extremely friendly and understanding of my predicament. The clothing was ready within a weeks time and looked good as new! I also thought the cost of both items was very reasonable seeing that one of the shirts had fancy buttons that had to be removed before the stain could even be taken out and then replaced afterward. As a broke college student, I was very pleased. They even gave me some discounts!! I know a lot of time and effort went in to making the clothes look incredible! These guys know what they're doing and are happy to help you! I can't thank them enough!! Now my roommate doesn't hate me :-P Pros: Great Location and Amazing Service more

Quality Service and Reparations for even the Toughest Jobs 1/22/2009

I went to Meurice's with my favorite boots, a style they really don't make anymore-a pair of suede and fur lace up knee high boots that had been completely destroyed after I slipped and fell on a dirt slick floor at a club, streaking and literally embedding black dirt across the beige and white canvas....The customer service was so reassuring and accommodating even when I thought the cause was hopeless and not only did they manage to extract the stain and restore the boots to almost new, the very kind gentlemen who helped me generously extended me a student discount. Very professional, very good at what they do, worth the money. more

Best drycleaning! 9/30/2008

Nothing beats Meurice. I am a stickler for two things: great drycleaning and great service. Meurice has both. As for garmet care, my clothes always look wonderful and fresh. As for service, Meurice is top-notch with a friendly staff. My favorite example of Meurice's great service happened about a year ago. I called to see if they did shoe repair. Although they didn't, Bernie took care of everything. He said to just put whatever shoes I needed repaired into my laundry bag, and he'd have them fixed at a local store. The shoes (and drycleaning, of course) came back just perfect. more
