Fabulous stylist find in Sonoma!! After relocating to the area from Europe, I was in desperate need of a cut/fresh look and highlights for my wild blonde hair. Len not only gave me an amazing and super chic cut, but his color was top notch! Took a chance and made an appointment after only reading reviews about Len - the greatest chance ever!!!!!! My first impression was through how simple and fool proof his appointment making is. Then, when you actually meet him, his warmth and compassion make the couple of hours go by so quickly. Fabulous Haircut 2/15/2012

I just came back from my amazing haircut in Sonoma from Len and he's definitely gained a loyal client in me! I came 15 minutes late and he still took me in and he even pushed back his next appointment for me. The salon in Sonoma is clean and beautiful. Len greeted me warmly and ensured that he'd give me a great haircut. I heard that phrase many a time before at GSquared (avoid/run for the hills), Marlon Ramos ("nice" but mildly volatile stylist that will give you a piece of his mind if you don't like his cut or color), and Wes Pine (HUGELY overrated). All of these people and salons have 5/5 stars but Len is TRULY the REAL deal. His professional, highly knowledgeable, EXPERT, pleasant demeanor marked highly in my book and not to mention is unreal hairstyling skills. Pros: null Cons: null more

Great highlights! 12/29/2011

I am very picky about my hair and have tried various places without much success. I also have long wavy hair that is not easy to manage. Len is not only able to make my hair look amazing while looking 100% natural, but he also is great at recommending what looks good with my skin tone and hair length. He really listens to what i am looking for and is able to give advice on what works best for me. He is not just a hair dresser, he is truly a hair stylist and consultant. Just found my NEW hairstylist and colorist! It's Len! 11/8/2011

I wish I could leave more than 5 stars! Len is more a 10 star hairstylist and colorist! I just had my hair cut and colored (yes I color my hair, I will admit to that!) last week by Len the amazing hairstylist and colorist! I just moved to San Francisco last month from Washington D.C. and got a referral from a co-worker went to that other stylist (at a well known salon on Maiden Lane) first of all it was pretentious, they acted as if they were doing me a favor doing my hair, EXPENSIVE even by Union Square standards! I never went back! I felt I had wasted my hard earned money! Then I decided to research hairstylists (and colorists) on line, and low and behold I happened upon Len. He had so many great things written about him, I just had to make an appointment! I did, on line in fact! Is that easy or what?! I had to change my appointment time to another day and called his help desk, they told me they were available 24/7 they were extremely helpful and polite! I then finally went into see Len, right away I could tell he had a lot of experience, he made me feel comfortable (I brought in pictures to show him of how I would like the hairstyle to look) he and I really communicated well! He listened, then he cut my hair, and colored it (beatiful rich Auburn, with lighter Caramel colored highlights) the result, a color that looks natural but gets me noticed! (I hate the obvious colored hair look!) My cut is amazing, it has so much movement, volume in the right places! SO if you want to finally find your hairstylist (who also happens to do amazing coloring and highlights!) then Len is your man! Nice guy, Nice salon atmosphere (in S.F.) And you can schedule on line! i'm so grateful to have a professional of this calibur in sonoma. with his checkered past in the art world, including hanging with andy warhol back in the great new york days (although i'm sure len did NOT do his hair), he has the confidence and skill to create an amazing haircut/color for your particular type of hair, and he isn't afraid to tell you if you are making a mistake. len cares about the health of your mane. more

Folks, if you're as picky about your hair as I am then Len is the man for you. I was looking for a stylist who not only knows their stuff but truly cares about the end result. Len fits this bill to a tee. I love how he does my hair - everything from the cut to highlights to all over color is top notch. And if that wasn't enough, Len's a real nice guy too. more

Len came recommended to me by a co-worker, then I find out, two of my other co-worker's in a different department go to him as well?! Small world! Anyway, made an appointment with his call service, they were polite, efficient, and I received an email confirmation about my appointment as soon as I finished with them on the phone! (I found out later from Len that you can schedule an appointment directly through his web-site! Pretty cool and good to know!) I went in, Len greeted me, we consulted (he's a really good listener) he gave me exactly what I wanted, suggested ways I could make my haircut look like I just stepped out of the salon, gave me product recommendations, Len's a true professional and the best at what he does! The only down side he's only here in S.F. two days Thursdays and Fridays, and some Saturdays! :-( the rest of the time he's up in the Wine Country (Sonoma) Anyway, Thanks Len I love my hair! You're simply the best! I will be back (with I'm sure plenty of other co-worker's! LOL!) more

Crazy about my hair and my new Stylist Len! 5/23/2011

OMG, OMG, OMG! I am absolutely crazy thrilled with my hair!!!! I love this guy! So nice, talented, isn't snotty or full of himself, love the salon too! Found my new guy on the internet (Google) which lead me here, read the reviews, I thought to myself, I'm in! Booked online through Len's web-site, so easy!!! (what a relief so my boss at work cant hear me make a hair appointment over the phone! LOL!) went in, Len greeted me as if he had always known me, great connection! Great cut, he had time to do my color too, so I had him do some highlights, wow! LOVE it!!!! I'm hooked for life! I have found my new hair guy! Len! Thanks, I'll be back in a few weeks! Can't wait! I first heard about Len through the local Sonoma paper (The Sonoma Index Tribune) Len was running an Ad, I found out from Len that he is new to the Sonoma area and divides his time between San Francisco and the Wine country, so I decided to give him a shot. I had an amazing stylist back in Atlanta as well as New York (I lived in both places) but now I'm pleased to say I have an AMAZING stylist and colorist with Len! He listens to me, each time I go in for my appointment, we have a consultation on what worked, what I might like to change (either haircut or color-wise) I'm hear to tell you I don't want to change anything! His haircuts are amazing! They grow out so well! The color he does on me looks so natural! (and I have had some of the best colorists in both New York and Atlanta!) I LOVE the salon in the Wine country (Sonoma) its called CHEVEUX, beautifully decorated, friendly staff, and I also like his San Francisco salon, which is bigger, busier, but everyone is nice,welcoming and I LOVE the product line Len referred for my hair at the S.F. location its called Rene Furterer! It has really helped to restore my hair, so the color stays longer, doesn't fade as quickly, looks shiny, feels soft and my hair feels healthy! Plus I am in LOVE with the smell of the product! So not only is Len a GREAT stylist and colorist, but he makes product recommendations so that you get the same (or close!) look as when you left the salon after his amazing talented work! I LOVE his on-line scheduling as well, very convenient and not having to call the salon and speak to a receptionist that puts you on hold for 5 or 10 minutes. All around 5 stars (10 stars if I could give it to Len on here!) I LOVE, LOVE my hair! What more can I say? more

I Have been going to Len for years, I'm never disappointed! 5/2/2011

Finally, I am writing a review for my stylist Len! I have been seeing Len (the magician!) for years! (8 years to be exact) I first started seeing Len at the recommendation of a friend and co-worker at Len's former salon Utopia. He is easy to talk to, communicate with and he listens and delivers! I have never been disappointed in all these years ever! Sure a lot of other stylists I have gone to did a nice job, but with the others it was hit and miss, sometimes good, sometimes not so good, what I love about Len (one of the many things) is that he is consistently good, each and every time. My highlights look natural, not yellow, brassy or orange, and my haircuts always grow out great! Sometimes when I go in for my follow up appointment I often times wonder to myself, why am I here? The color and haircut still look good! even after 5 weeks! Now that is the sign of a truly gifted and talented stylist and haircolorist! Maybe I will try him in his Sonoma location as well (good excuse to go wine tasting!) His San Francisco salon (Frange Blue) is nice, laid back and Len has his own room which he shares with 2 other stylists, so it is cozy, and not chaotic. Go and see Len for yourself and you'll thank me later! Thanks Len for MANY happy hair years! more

Len has gotten me over my fear of hair cuts,at last! And, I can't even talk about color! My hair has never looked or felt so good. The cut holds the shape and even with my red color I don't get the fade out that used to make me crazy. Now I can be that sassy red head on the outside, I always felt that I was inside. more

No, more wild bedhead! 2/24/2011

Len is a great guy, he knows hair! We talked for a time on what my ideas were as well as his recommendations. Nothing is rushed, and Lens does every part of your new hair creation. With my lovely glass of wine we began this adventure together. On the conversation front, Len is fun and we talked until our lips fell off. The SF salon is great and friendly. Parking was the only hard part of my day there. My new head of hear is soft, playful and SO simple to do daily. I love that part; it does not take a master hair person to recreate the wonderful look Len gave me. I went to an event the following day and got compliments from people I did not even know! Love that! Thank you Len! more
