Haircuts are one place I don't scrimp. (A good haircut makes you look "money," regardless of what you're wearing.) I was nervous trying a new stylist, but had read such glowing reviews of Len. Shhhhh...Talented, creative, warm and witty Len has come to Sonoma. He is at the Cheveux Salon on Tuesdays now. He styled my hair last week and I love it. Cheveux salon is right in the middle of downtown Sonoma, a beautiful salon with a convenient location. I had the pleasure of having Len at Frange Blue do my hair color on Friday and i just have to say what a great job he did. He talked to me about what he thought would be good for my skin tone and that my old color had too much gold. We agreed upon a Sandy blond hilightes and some lowlites in a dark blond and to change my base tone to a more sandy tone as well. My hair always throws red/Gold and although I don?t mind that I was ready for a change. He did a terrific job. He is a master in color and I feel confident in recommending him to anyone. Excellent Customer Service 3/26/2010

If only every service provider would be like Len! I made my first appointment with him last week. I was SO impressed by his attitude -- which is one of actual interest in what his clients want and what they have to say about their hair. So many stylists I've been to are like "Let me (the artist) work. It doesn't matter if you like it." Best of all, Len took a great deal of time to explain to me EXACTLY what I would have to do to re-create the salon look at home on my own. I really can't say enough good things about how courteous, interested and professional he was. I simply LIKE him better than any other hairstylist I have ever been to - - and that's saying a lot, because I have been to what is considered the "best" in the City, which I really think just means the most expensive - - NOT necessarily the best hair cut and/or treatment from the stylist and staff. To me, Len's talent, coupled with his personality, make him a cut above (yes, pun intended) the rest. Pros: Len is so professional and polite. more

The First Cut is the Sweetest! 3/9/2010

From the moment I walked into Frange Blue, I knew I had discovered gold. I read the reviews of Len's happy clients and I was duly impressed with all the glowing compliments he has received. I made my online appointment (very handy by the way ) and waited for the big day. As we all know, choosing a new stylist is no small matter. The moment I met Len, I knew I was in good hands. He listened to what I wanted and needed from a haircut. He understood my desires and wasn't afraid to make suggestions about how we could attain the perfect cut. He talked to me about everything he planned to do and then executed the cut perfectly. Len is not only a brilliant stylist but he is personable as well. So, not only did I get a wonderful cut but I had a wonderful visit with Len at the same time! Thanks Len! Pros: Best Stylist Ever...... more

No regrets! 2/21/2010

Having a healthy looking and thick hair, I let it grow long w/ donating it to locks of love in mind. People envied and liked it for the longest time I've kept it. Then one day, came a time for me to say, it's time to let it go... but I thought, I have to find the best person in town to entrust my hair style after I cut that 10 inches to donate. I prayed and utilized the wide web to find that person. I saw this name lendoesmyhair with so much good feedback under it. With the convenience of getting an appointment online I click and click and presto... I got my date and time. I was half-hearted and skeptical at first as I walked along Market St. going to my appointment w/ Len, this may be another "one ordinary stylist". Well, I reflected of the reviews I read and thought people will not waste time to type in good words for this person if they don't mean it. Shrugged my shoulders and headed on. As I walked in Frange Blue, I already felt this is not a common salon, it's nice and has a homey feeling, coffee, tea, water, not to mention the warm smiles and welcoming spirits of the people impressed me. Then, vis-a-vis w/ the person, Len, tall, clean, very professional looking and with a great smile. Pros: Walk out w/ a great looking hair! Cons: None at all! more

Plain and simple Len's the best! 2/1/2010

I have never been inspired to write a review on anything until now. I just got my hair cut and highlighted by Len at Frange Blue (well actually last week) I found him online, read the reviews and booked an appointment through his website (very impressive and easy might I add!) and went to go see him. My haircut was boring before Len cut it. He added layers, shortened it, and highlighted my natural drab dark blond hair to a bright and shiny, sassy color! It gets me noticed! My hair feels soft (not dry!) My boyfriend loved it! My co-workers were amazed! I will be back, thanks so much Len! You are quite simply the best! Pros: Great Haircut! Amazing Highlights!!!!! Cons: A little pricey but he's worth it! more

Len you are a Hair Master! 1/11/2010

I found Len on an internet search engine, after reading countless reviews I decided to try him out. I am so glad I did! I found out for myself that everything that has been written about him is true! Len created a wonderful reddish-brown color for me, rich, deep, shiny looking color and then added just the right amount of caramel colored highlights, together this color combination has gotten me countless compliments and looks from men (and from women!) I have at least 2 or 3 people come up to me daily asking me who does my hair, I giggle and say Len does my hair (I must admit that is a pretty clever line) he also updated my cut, took just the right amount of length off and it is so easy to style I absolutely love it!!! So ladies if you want rich color and a cut that lasts and lasts go see Len, he truly knows what he's doing, for me Len is the only person I will ever let touch my hair again ever! Thanks Len! Pros: Skilled haircutter, skilled haircolorist,on line scheduling, Cons: Nothing I can think of more

Love my hair! 1/9/2010

I used to have my hair cut by another stylist at Utopia Salon which was owned by Len. When Utopia closed, I went on citysearch and found Len. I've had 3 haircuts by Len thus far and loved each of them. Great technique, and the haircut grows out well. I've also switched my hair products at Len's recommendation - the condition of my hair has improved since. The option of making appointments online was very convenient. more

Thanks Len I love it! 1/4/2010

A friend mentioned Len's name to me a couple of times, I always admired her hair, and decided to switch from my regular stylist- person (I wasn't that happy anymore anyway after 8 years) made an appointment with Len, immediately felt at ease with him! He is approachable, he listens, suggests and I could tell he is a pro and has been doing this a while(I asked) the end result was a new hairstyle (but just the right length!) highlights were bright, but natural looking, and didn't look brassy, and best of all...my hair didn't feel like straw afterwards! Len also recommended products (some french brand Rene something or another... that was expensive, but I decided I'm worth it and so is my hair!) goodbye Pantene! Yuck! it's been 3 weeks and my cut still looks good my hair feels soft the color hasn't dulled or faded! I have gotten no less than 40 compliments! Rush to see this amazing guy and you'll discover a little bit of magic right here in S.F! Pros: Great haircut, Best color(highlights!) Cons: Pricey but hey it's San Francisco and Union Square! more

A new look 12/24/2009

Len spends time getting to know your needs before he starts suggesting things. I was initially hesitant about doing low lights and when it was complete still was not used to having darker hair -- after having 85% white when I walked in. Pros: Knows what he is doing Cons: A little expensive but I am worth it. more

I tried a new Stylist the other day, and his name is Len. I was impressed by all of his reviews, his web-site and had to see what all the hoopla was about. I am glad I did! Professional, funny, welcoming and best of all skilled! I've had way to many bad cuts over the years (you know the one's where you have to go in sooner rather than later to get it cut again because it grows out so poorly!) Well I am loving my cut and I can already tell it will grow out nicely! Salon is simple but nice, not snotty, and the salon was busy (another good sign!) I will recommend Len to co-workers, family, friends what a find I have made! Try him out and you will agree! Pros: Great haircut! you can book on line! Unheard of! Cons: Zippo! more

Va Va Voom! ;-) Love my hair! 12/4/2009

All I can say about my hair is Va Va Voom! I am absolutely thrilled with my hair! Thanks Len! He is an amazing, talented guy who communicates very well! He gave me a natural looking blonde with highlights using 4 colors! My cut has a lot of layers ("movement" as he put it) The salon is cute, very clean and all the people that worked there seemed happy to be there and greeted me very professionally, I was made to feel very welcomed. I LOVE Len's on line booking, I didn't even have to pick up the phone, no being put on hold for 5 minutes or more, no rude receptionist, wonderful! I am coming back and can't wait for my next visit! THANKS Len! You are a miracle worker! I found out that everything that is written about this guy is true! Pros: Best haircut, best highlights! Cons: A little expensive, but I'm worth it! more

I wanted a decent guy's cut. I checked out the internet and this guy (Len) popped up all over the place. I read the reviews, thought, wait this is too good to be true! I made an appointment on line no less! , I didn't know what to expect and presto! This guy cut my hair better than anyone! He is a nice guy, talkative, friendly, not stuck up, and not one of those weird-looking haircutters he listened to my wants, overall 10 stars! (not just 5!) I started seeing Len a couple of years ago after a friend recommended him to me. I have NEVER been disappointed and have NEVER received a better haircut and color job that doesn't look colored. the color looks so natural, it has shine, my hair doesn't feel like straw and the haircut grows out so well, that when it's time to go back in (5 weeks later) I ask myself, what is Len going to fix? It looks perfect only longer, now that's a sign of a good haircut! Len is very good about educating clients (like me) on haircare products, he told me if a person doesn't use the same products that were used in the salon, how can the person expect the same results at home?" makes sense to me, they are on the pricey side, but the salon gave me a 20% off deal, so I stocked up on products! All I can say is Thank you Len for making me look and feel gorgeous (and younger!) you are clearly the best at what you do! Pros: Best color and haircut ever! I found Len thru Google, and read all of his reviews on Citysearch, I must say I was quite impressed After having gone to too many salons that screwed my hair up I gave Len a chance. Len from the very start was professional, listened to my concerns and needs, and delivered BIG TIME! I can tell he has been at his craft for a number of years, it shows! He also introduced me to some hair-care products (I took his recommendations) and I love what the products do for my hair (and so does my girlfriend!) I am VERY happy I found Len, he is truly a find, and one that I will share with others! Go see this amazing stylist you will not be sorry! Pros: Great haircut! Beautiful salon, on-line scheduling! Len is a great stylist 11/21/2009

I have tried many salons in the Peninsula, and I was never quite satisfied with the haircut. This was my first haircut with Len and I was pleasantly surprised. Len can see very well the type of haircut that will fit you. I have fine hair and he was able to make my hair look fuller and shinier, in other words, he made it look like I was a different person. I owe him for that, plus he's warm and funny. I'll be back! Pros: Magic fingers when he cuts and blows dry your hair Cons: Humm, can't think of anything.... more

Simply the BEST! 11/19/2009

I have found my new stylist and colorist and his name is Len!. I searched all over the internet and found Len He had many positive reviews I just had to check him out! It turns out all the reviews were right! Great cut, beautiful color and on line scheduling?! I haven't come across any stylist or colorist that has that! All I can say is Len is priceless! Worth every cent! I have found my new hair guy! Thanks Citysearch! and thanks Len!, I love what you do and I will be back for many years to come I am sure! Oh and I will recommend all of my friends and co-workers I just hope he doesn't end up being too booked so I can't see him when I want to?! Pros: Wonderful cut, great color, on line scheduling!
