Laund-Ur-Mutt

I took my older German Shepherd here to use the self dog wash. The girl ""minding the shop"" finally woke up and came in and rudely asked what I wanted. Once I got my dog in the tub, she wouldn't let me alone, but kept trying to pick up my (already unstable) dog's paw and stick her finger up inside his paw until I yelled at her to leave him alone. After yet another smoke outside, she put a poor little dog on the grooming table with a lead around his neck and went back outside smoking for the rest of our stay (I watched to make sure the poor dog didn't fall and strangle itself, since she didn't care). The other dogs left for grooming were left howling behind a door. It is too bad, as they have nice safe tubs and good sprayers. more

I had my house sitter bring my I-Doodle (Irish Setter Doodle) for a trim to Laund-Ur-Mutt when I went on vacation. My dog has beautiful hair to the degree that everywhere she goes people stop and ask her breed. When I returned home I was horrified to look at my dog. She was completely sheared (which is very bad for dogs) and looked as though she was a cancer victim. She looked horrible! I was so upset and called several times and no one called back. I went in to the store and was told that someone had tried to call, but I never received any message. The only explanation that I was given was that her hair was matted--no apology, no acknowledgment that a phone call should have been made before she was sheared. Neighbors have also reported bad experiences with grooming (bleeding paws). Mistakes happen--how retail establishments handle mistakes is what differentiates good businesses from bad. I was charged $57 for this debacle. Do not go here--it was a miserable experience from beginning to end. more

They charge you $11 to use the tub, $2 for shampoo, and $1 EACH TOWEL to dry your dog with (no, you don't get to keep the ragged, stained old towels). I'll never go there again. Struttin Pup just went up to $12 - you can use everything of theirs, including nail clippers, etc., and they're really nice there. Pros: local Cons: There's something dishonest about charging you separately just to use old towels more
