Awesome food. Great old fashioned hospitality.

Worst

The waiter was horrible. They sat us under a leaky roof. When we moved he gave us an arrogant smirk. He never came around to check up on us except to bring us our food. When w...

Huge Portions 2/7/2011

Great black n blue burger (blue cheeseburger), great dessert (cheesecake, red velvet cake, etc...) A little pricey for a ""diner"" but you get huge portions so usually you have enough for 2 meals! The chicken gyro is really great too. The place is never busy though....but food is good and service is good. Yummy! more

So Glad This Place Exists 2/2/2011

I'm so glad this place exists for late night pie and irish coffee. The interior is as kitschy and expected as possible - everything a diner should be - and the slices of pie are huge. I think it's owned by a greek family - and the entire wait service staff seem to be either family or friends (it's cute to watch). There also seems to be a mixed crowd there - both young and old - a good sign for a place that has been around the block a few times . I was a little surprised by the prices for everything; $10 for a sandwich - though their servings are pretty large. For any New Yorker looking for a diner that reminds them of home - this is the place. more

I Must Go Back To Try More 1/31/2011

They have converted me into a cole slaw lover! Let me tell you that this is quite a feat! I ordered my diner standby, the Reuben. It was scrumptious! My server was pleasant, but not overbearing, and she brought out my food quickly. I must go back to try their breakfast offerings. more

Lots of options 1/25/2011

There are plenty of different food options available, including those that are vegetarian friendly. There's also a large dessert area with so many different choices of cake and other sweets. more

Don't go 11/30/2010

We were in Atlanta for Thanksgiving. I'm a big fan of diners and as soon as I saw this one, I insisted on going, what a big mistake. From the cold hard rolls, to the wilted salad to the waitress that took 25 minutes to bring us the bread and salad.....the food was simply awful, we ordered 3 entrees, our pasta with seafood was goopy and tasteless, I thought I would have a dessert hoping that it would help to get the bad taste out of my mouth, walked to the front and there, one of the workers, an older gentleman in a suit was rearranging the pastries, licking his finger and touching all of them with his spitty hands, gross, don't go here. more

What happened to Landmark Diner??? Its changed!!! 4/19/2010

IN THE PAST Landmark Diners in Atlanta (the entire series of them from Buckhead to Marietta) were the places to go for beautifully plated dishes that were piled so high you had no choice but to get a to go box. From dinner to dessert you left pretty d*mn satified and your wallet was still heavy... Somewhere between last October 2009 and April 2010 things changed. Upon looking at the place back in 2002 when I first arrived I didn't know if I wanted to go in there...it looked a little scary and unsophsticated...all those colourful neon lights. But after actually stepping inside I completely fell in love w/it... It wasn't the ""cleanest"" looking place depending on the lights but the offering of Greek food and American specialties won me over! The ginormous desserts were 5 star and anytime we had a community meeting it would conclude there. My favourite dishes were the salads and breakfast items. But as time went on I came to love the Nachos, matzo ball soup, Italian Pasta dishes and their drinks. But all that came to a halt last night. I visited the one in buckhead with my same group of friends. We were rather hungry and I ordered much more than my usual eggs and fries w/feta cheese. Upon entering I noticed the decor has changed. There's a big Persian style rug in the doorway and the dim seats and booths have all been replaced w/new comfy chairs and cushioned seating areas. Its not the most modern in style but it feels good and breakfast-nooky. The extremely friendly host was absent and instead a superficial-dry manager or head waiter?? who drug out a semi-friendly ""booth or table, ladies."" We chose a table. A very nice waitress came out afterwards and took our orders. We ask for things we usually eat when there... We were given a half loaf of sliced butter bread w/butter packets. I'm not a big fan of bread but I miss their french bagette cut and piping hot. I ordered an omlette, fries and grilled cheese (cheddar). When it arrived I was surprised that the omlette came w/home fries (if I had seen that on the menu I wouldn't have ordered fries). The grilled cheese (that I just ordered at random because I just trusted was on the menu) was not grilled but instead EXTREMELY TOASTED toast (clearly burned on some edges) and what could have been generic brand american cheese slices coloured BRIGHT ORANGE. I ate it because 1. I was hungry 2. I don't like to return food for fear I'm going to piss off a cook/chef whose having a tough night. Just as all of the other dishes began to arrive and the first bites taken I questioned who on earth was cooking. Before I could even get my words out my friend also made a negative comment about her food. We tried to eat it and I finished most of mine (it was late and I hadn't eaten since noon-so I was too weak to go home and cook). I took my dessert to go...it too tasted bad. I couldn't believe it! What happened????? I miss the old diner...the one w/the friendly faces, the crazy huge portions and real food products-not food substitutes. I didn't mind the dim lighting or the cool 50s car-hop furniture w/silver lining... The diner is one of the few 24 hour spots where you can get pretty good greek food at 5:15 am...some of us enjoy mousakka at that hour! I just don't know if its going to be good anymore! Ill give it another try (maybe) but Ill probably order fries and matzo ball soup in the future-no dessert. I'm not taking a risk w/anything else. Pros: Still a great menu selection Cons: the food doesn't taste as good as it used to more

Good food good service 3/17/2009

This is a place were you can go at anytime and order breakfast or a hamburger but the menu is quite good with a lot of deserts this is a nice place to go if you need to eat Pros: Example: best croissants in town Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

Overpriced and tasteless 1/1/2009

I have been here several times. The first time I had a Reuben which was ok. This time I had beef brisket in gravy. It came with a side of mashed potatoes and a salad. First of all the waitress brought the wrong dressing. Since we had already waited more than half an hour just to get our salads I decided not to complain. The salad was all iceburg lettuce which has no taste. The lettuce was beginning to get pink on the edges of the ribs which told me it was not fresh. But drowned in dressing it was edible. After another half an hour our entrees arrived. They did not make the onion rings for fries substitution that my mother requested but again we did not complain. My brisket was about as bland and inedible as possible. It was somewhere between school lunch and nursing home quality. It looked like it came from Costco precooked. The gravy was obviously from a packet or can. Truly awful. And at $16 an insult as well. I could not eat even one third. I left the restaurant hungry. If I was the owner of this place I would be ashamed to charge so much for such poor quality food. My mother and daughter got hamburgers which they were ok with. My brother got the salmon which he didn't comment on. For a meal that cost over $70 for 4 people it was a complete waste. Don't waste your time or money in this dump. It is for drunks who are hungry at 4 am and don't know what decent food tastes like. Pros: open 24 hours Cons: pretty much everything else more

Most extensive variety of food. 3/4/2008

I would recommend this establishment to anyone that is in the Buckhead area. Good prices...good food and professional service. They offer one of the most extensive menus that I've ever seen. For instance, breakfast food to Lamb Chops. Well stock bar and giantic booth seating. more

Breakfeast was served cold and not very good 11/29/2007

We went with a group of eight, and everybodies food came out cold and not very good. I have had pretty good experiences there with dinner but not breakfeast. Pros: Good prices more

so humdrum 11/24/2007

When I think of diner food.. I think from scratch. Okay, I got to be fair. their sauces were good. I ordered the country fried steak. my wife the veal parm. but you could totally tell that both pieces of meat came out of a box from the freezer. how hard is it to bread and fry it? In a town with so many diners, something like home breading could go along ways. service was so very so-so. more

Landmark Downtown; Across From Rialto, so Convenient; Not Great, But OK Food and Service 11/12/2007

Visited the Landmark's downtown location across from the Rialto Theater for dinner before a performance. The bottom line is this is a good place if you want simple food fast without having to venture away from the theater. The food is mediocre in quality, not awful, but certainly not great. Prices are high for the quality and quantity of the food served, though. Pros: 24-hour; across from Rialto, so downtown convenient; ok, not awful food Cons: Mediocre food quality and quantity; relatively high prices; so-so service; Waffle House-type atmosphere more

Just like a New York City Diner, but better. 11/9/2007

I have eaten at the Landmark Diner twice in the last week and look forward to returning. As I told the people who run the place, it's just like a New York City diner, but better. The burger I ordered was large, juicy and tastey, and served on a fresh toasted bun - delicious. I went back for breakfast and had a light fluffy omelet served with a side of hashbrowns that were freshly made and not greasy. Even the coffee was excellent and didn't taste like it had been sitting in a coffeepot on a burner for hours. The diner is very clean and has a pleasant atmosphere. The service is attentive without hovering. I grabbed a menu at the register when I left, so I can think about what I'll order when I go back. There seem to be plenty of healthy options on there as well. When I go home to New York City, one of the things I will miss about Atlanta is the NY-style Landmark Diner. Pros: Great food, extensive menu, quick and friendly service Cons: It's a little tricky to get into the parking lot. more

The food is great even if you not starving 11/2/2007

I go to the Landmark Diner in the mornings after the club. I've tried many dishes sober as well as tipsy off that Petrone, and it allways taste great. The food is pretty fast and the facility is very clean no matter what time i go there. I havn;t went out in a while or gotten drunk either but I still crave their food. I met one of the owners at LA Fitness Buck Head and was invited to go. I'm glad he did that, now I have a place to go eat. Pros: Good food any time of the day more

Good For The Money 9/25/2007

This is a good restaurant for the money. The 24 by 7 times available is good for when you get hungry they are open. It is convient when you finish a night out in Buckhead. Staff is quick and plesant. The portions are large if you are very hungry. It is great that you can take your kids also. Each visit I try something diferent and I have't been disappointed. more

O.K. Greek! O.K. Breakfast! Avoid Everything Else! 2/5/2007

If you have been on the Buckhead Bar run late at night, and are ready to get sober and eat, Landmark Diner will fill the bill. All the greek items are good, not great. And the breakfast menu, is good also, but not great. Somehow, scattered, smothered, and covered, seem to do the best this time of morning. Rotating cake/pie case is tempting, but there seems to be a touch of freezer burn. Service is either totally on, or way off. And a little pricey, but depending on your condition, the place will work. Large menu, just stick to Greek or Breakfast items. Pros: Convenient Late Night Breakfast-Greek! Cons: Just Average Food! more

Only tastes great when there's nothing else open 2/1/2007

I love Greek food, but I would never suggest this to anyone looking to eat great Greek food in Atlanta. The best thing about this place is the fact that it is open 24 hours. Their food is inconsistent. I would say that one cannot go wrong with a gyro sandwich, for example. If one does not like gyros, then he or she may be out of luck. The people that work there vary in their attitudes. Some are helpful and nice and others do seemed to be greatly inconvenienced by the occassional customers that happen to pop in. It seems that the younger people who work there seem to enjoy socializing with their friends more than waiting on customers. I sometimes wonder how they stay open. I guess already answered that question: it's a 24 hour diner. Great place after a night out on the town! Pros: Open 24 hours Cons: food and service are average at best more

Good place to eat with your family 1/20/2007

I brought my children here to grab some lunch today. The server was very friendly and fast. The have a good selection on the kids menu for finicky kids like mine. I had the BLT and fries it had plenty of bacon and tasted pretty good. We split a piece of german chocolate cake that was as close to moms as you can get. My children and I agree this is a great place to eat and we will come back. more
