Ok, heres a real review from a real patient... There are definitely a lot of fake reviews here coming from both sides.
One thing I notice about this place is that the people who work here smile alot and seem to genuinely care for each other. Yes, the receptionists are informal. Everyone here is 'mijo' or 'mija', which means 'dear' in spanish. Evaughn (sp?) is awesome, and will go through step by step with you what she has been told you 'need'. The owner, Dr Kajian, is really smart but seems kinda hurried sometimes, and sometimes you do wonder if some of the procedures she says you 'need' are really necessary. Dr. Yavari is an excellent dentist, really sweet, and makes an effort to provide the best care despite having to help multiple patients at the same time. I trust her.
If I could offer one piece of advice to the practice, it would be to stop over-extending the dentists/hygenists. I think the owner is trying to pack too many patients into one day, but this results in consistent patient delays. Also would help her to consider what is really really necessary. Demanding her hygenists/dentists try to pitch $65 oral cancer diagnostics not covered by insurance for patients under thirty kinda diminishes her credibility.
In short, I recommend La Jolla Dental. I have recommended it to my friends in the past and will continue to. The care is good if you can stand the wait, and the people there are awesome. But just like any purchase, do your research before signing anything.
Pros: friendly people, considerate care (with right dentist)
Cons: can seem pushy, definitely will wait a while
