Not impressed 11/15/2010

Typical mexican-american fast food style, but far from authentic. I felt like I was eating in a cafeteria. I do not understand why the place was so packed considering there was nothing special about the food or atmosphere and a person can to one of the many authentic mexican restaurants and get much better food for lower prices. Our server was very nice and attentive. more

The Best Mexican Around Coral Springs and Vicinity 2/8/2009

Sometimes on weekends, you may have to wait about 45 minutes. But it is worth the wait. I have been going to La Bamba for several years and the food is always consistent in its quality and freshness. \r \r I ordered their Pollo a la Plancha ($12.95), a marinated grilled chicken breast topped with lots of sauteed onions. A generous portion of white rice and black beans are also included. The sweet plantains are soft and absolutely fantastic. Some other restaurants seem to either overcook or undercook their plantains. La Bamba always gets it right. The chicken is marinated with what tastes like lime and other spices I can't put my finger on. But the results are splendid. I tried to duplicate their grilled chicken at home and couldn't. Leave the cooking up to La Bamba.\r \r I recommend this wonderfully relaxing restaurant to every one. Look for more reviews at dining coupons online. Pros: thumbs up more

Worst Mexican Restaurant 12/3/2007

There's only onions and more onions. The salsa should be renamed ""Onion Dip Salsa."" If you live to eat onions, then you will like all the food. The salsa needs to get the real ingredient back into it, the tomatoe, and some fresh pepper even. \r \r The margarita was even a disappointment and the service was poor. Cons: Too many onions in all the food. more

The worst chicken ever! 12/26/2006

Buyer beware. I've had better chicken at Pollo Tropical. I have no idea what everybody is talking about. Not only did they charge me $10.49 for chicken, rice, black beans and plantains, but it was terrible. That entire meal would have cost me, maybe, $7 at Pollo and tasted better! I cannot stress enough how terrible this place is. more

The BEST (real crab) Crab Nachos 11/20/2006

Absolutely the best - Food, Appetizers, Margaritas, Service and well priced - great for any day of the week. You will not find better Mexican food in Florida and Margate location is better than the Lake Worth Location Pros: Food, Parking, Location, Drink very very awesome more

Good food and Great Margaritas! 11/2/2005

My description of Labambas has always been good food and great Margaritas, but the food is great as well. While other restraurants claim to be Mexican, Labambas really delivers of authenticity. This is not a Tex Mex, but truly Mexican/Spanish food. I am part of the regular group that goes to Labambas at least three times a week and any one of us would highly recommend the food. Most items including steak dishes are under $15, with a larger choice of dishes around $8. Monday's are Margarita night, which is usually packed, so be prepared to wait for at least 30 minutes(if you're lucky). Labambas is also usually crowded on other nights, so that alone would speak to how good the food is. Kids menus are non existant, but my children usually share fajitas with me or have a taco dinner. more

Best Mexican Food 5/22/2004

La Bamba is the best Mexican Food in all of South Florida. We come from Southern California and this is the closest we've found to Good Authentic Mexican Food since we came to Florida. Pros: Best Margaritas, Great Service, Good Value more

OK, but I've had better 5/22/2004

I enjoy this La Bamba, but it's never anything really fantastic. Like someone mentioned, their pulled chicken dishes are quite bland. Service is 50/50. They do have the best margaritas in town though, IMO. I have also been to the Ft. Lauderdale La Bamba (which I don't know why it's not on here) but that one is always horrible. Never been to the one in Sunrise, which seems to be the actual restaurant most people are voting for on here. My favorite local Mexican restaurant is Yucatan in Deerfield Beach. Good food! Don't know why it's not on here either! Pros: good food in a pinch, nice atmoshphere, great margaritas Cons: , never really terrific more

Great Mexican Food 8/7/2003

I have been giong to the Sunrise location for the past 6 or 7 years. This has to be the best Mexican food in town. At least one of the family owners are always there to see that service and food quality is consistantly great! Pros: Inexpensive, Friendly employees, Good service more

Worst Mexican Restaurant ever 1/2/2003

And you call this Mexican?? Taco Bell food has more taste than the food at La Bamba.. I had the Loco Burro... boiled chicken with pieces of tomato and green pepper.. no taste what so ever.. more

La Yumma 12/18/2002

I have been going to this resaurant for years and years now and nothing can compare to the selection, price, service, and taste. The chips salsa is the best of any mexican resteraunt I know. Pros: taste, selection, chips and salsa Cons: rush hour wait more

Don't Pass This Place Up! 10/10/2002

Sunrise Location. My friends and I go almost once a week. Casual atmosphere, courteous staff, great food and it doesnt kill your wallet. They make the best fajitas I have ever had (steak/chicken or the seafood are awesome). The broiled snapper is also fantastic. Great homemade hot salsa (the chips are OK). Just there last night, 5 people for dinner, 2 rounds of drinks, fantastic food for $96! Honestly, I would pay more as the food is that good. Pretty big place but there is usually a wait on the weekends. Pros: Great Food, Good Service, Inexpensive Cons: Crowded on Fri/Sat more
