I've no doubts about Dr. Cyr's veterinary abilities and I love her staff. But, she has trouble listening to and abiding by her patient's owner's wishes. Last year I did not want a dozen different vaccinations but I felt she bullied me into it. As it was my dog's first year, I gave in. This year I VERY clearly stated for the chart when I made an appt., I only wanted two shots. My dog also had a skin problem that Dr. Cyr decided to treat with antibiotics, antihistamine, & prescription shampoo. Saying he had a compromised immune system, she was only going to administer two vaccines. We did not at that time discuss any others. I agreed she could administer just the two. Reviewing the papers when I got home, I discovered Dr. Cyr had administered SIX! I only authorized two. In addition, the prescription shampoo was six months expired! The final insult? Over $300 for a regular exam, six shots & 4 meds! Tonight we returned for a follow-up for his skin and if cleared, ONE additional vaccination. Right off the bat I was asked if we were ready for TWO more shots. She hadn't even checked to see if his skin had healed up yet. I stated that no, we would be getting any additional vaccinations elsewhere. I said I wasn't happy that she had given my dog shots I explicitly had not authorized. She immediately started to argue that we had discussed all shots but I assured her we had not. If we had we, we both would have remembered the ensuing argument. But we never got that far. She jumped up, gave me the ""talk to the hand"", I'm done and told me to leave and not come back. In summary, not only did Dr. Cyr violate my trust two weeks ago (and charge me handsomely for the priviledge), but tonight I believe she acted unethically in refusing to at least examine my dog who was right in the middle of drug therapy she had prescribed. Whether we agreed or not, I kept my appt. for the welfare of my pet, something Dr. Cyr demonstrated a complete lack of concern for because I dared to question her about being dishonest and slipping FOUR additional shots into my dog against my wishes. If you want a vet who will listen to you and care about your concerns and wishes, Kanyons Golden/Dr. Cyr is not the place! more

Before going to this Vet, I read the reviews here, and was quite leery about going, but my cat had to be seen due to a wound, and our family vet could not see her for a week. In any event, I went to the facility, met with the tech, Lisa, who was very nice; however, she couldn't schedule an appointment, but took my information. Twenty minutes later, I get a call from another person, the receptionist, who stated my cat could be seen the next day; however, what struck me as an odd practice, was their insistency to secure my credit card over the phone prior to the visit; especially since no other vet I contacted had this policy. I expressed that I was uncomfortable with giving such information over the phone, and questioned why they needed my credit card prior to the visit. In essence, they were going to charge my credit card if I showed up or not the full amount of $92! What a scam! I understand charging a nominal ""no show"" fee, but the full amount! And please, give me the benefit of the doubt before you assume I'm a deadbeat from whom you need to collect ASAP! Needless to say, I did make the appointment. And although they are less then a mile away from where I live, I am taking my cat to Bartonsville (12 miles) away. Although I can't comment directly on the Vet's bedside manner, as did others; I am comfortable with stating that such an aggressive payment/appointment policy does give me insight to the personality of the Vet, who assuredly sets and/or approves the policy. As such, I will not change my current vet.\r more

I had been taking my dog to doctor Cyr from August 2012 to June of 2013 several times a month. During this time my dog was diagnosed with liver shunt and she assured me that it was a manageable disease as long as I worked closely with her and followed everything she told me to do; such as bringing him in for multiple blood tests and giving him several different medications. So during those months I took her advice but I did some research of my own about my dogs disease (which she did not appreciate). She told me to stay off the internet and trust her. During most of my office visits she spoke to me in a demeaning way however I overlooked it because my dog seemed to be doing better and that was my only concern. unfortunately; on September 8th I finally saw very clearly how unprofessional she really is. I called the office at 6:50 pm because my dog took a turn for the worse and she told me that she would have to charge me a $180 emergency fee in addition to any other charges which I felt was uncalled for due to the fact that in this short amount of time I spent over $4,000 dollars so I asked her for a reasonable fee NOT FREE and she had a melt down. She went on a rant about having 1800 clients and she is the only doctor and just completed 26 hours straight of working and she needs to be compensated for her time. Not once did she ask what was wrong with my pet who was dying. I have never had a professional person speak to me the way she did. She made it very clear to me that all she cares about is making money and not the welfare of your pet. She puts on a god act about caring but the truth is that she is RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND SHADY. Now I have to wonder if she really knew what she was doing after hearing her say she works 26 hours straight. Could she really be thinking clearly? DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS VET. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN HER OFFICE AGAIN. more

Never ever have I been in a vets office that gouged their clients for money the way that this vet did. Their prices are OUTRAGEOUS! Also the woman vet needs to stop telling owners how to handle their pets. I walked in there and couldn't believe all the signs on the walls ""fee for not canceling within 24 hours"" ( we have that at our salon but I have yet to see my bosses nickel and dime people). Fee for (9) for a prescription charge. Then I get my pooch examined and the charges were so expensive and unfortunately my dog had lymes so I had to back a mere two weeks later to get the second shot and they ""raped"" me again for an examine which they said ""is the veterinary guidelines "" which is another way to charge me 50 and 34 for the shot and get this3.00 waste removal. Really? I could see if it was 1.00 or something but come on! Another friend I soon found out went there and was charged crazy prices too. The antibiotic I got in could have gotten free from Shoprite. Do you think they said anything? No! \r \r I understand people open businesses to make money but I felt so taken advantage of that it was awful. If my dog was laying sick I would drive her all the way to Scott run to that vet or to mount bethel before I would take her 2 minutes from the house. \r \r \r Oh and they ""push"" their tick meds on you too and well I guess you'll have to pay 9 if you don't use theirs. Isn't the exam and heart test enough to pay? \r \r The only decent people in there was the vet tech and the husband. \r \r Big mistake. I have lived here forever and know a lot of people and I will never ever never recommend them! \r \r I will NEVER go there again! Neither would my friend and she decided that long before I went there. more

Rude and unprofessional 8/1/2011

I recently inquired about a pet through e-mail. I received some very short, unhelpful replies. I get the sense that whoever was replying is not a happy person at all. Finally, when I asked why their adoption fee was so high for a pet that was already 5 years old, I received a sarcastic, condescending answer. Maybe others have had good experiences from here, but what I got was a rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional salesperson. He/she did not give me their name and it was not on the e-mail. more

good quality of life 10/18/2010

Saying thank you just doesn't seem enough. You have given Vinny and me peace of mind in times of severe stress over Babi's health. You have helped us help him. You have never said that you were too busy or that we were too far away for you to continue helping us. Please know that you are always in our thoughts, because everyday that Babi is with us is a day we might never have had. He is so sweet and so needy that he has become a big part of our lives. Giving Babi a good quality of life has become our mission. Some people never find their ""calling"" in life. You, my dear Dr. Cyr, have perfected the term ""veterinarian"" . You care for your family of animals, as well as your extended family of pet owners. You have saved Babi so many times, I have lost count. He's a happy little guy albeit a sick one. You've given him, and us, many more days of happiness because we know we are helping him. more

MASTERED it 10/18/2010

I wanted to take a moment to thank you and your FANTASTIC staff for a great experience at your office. Your front office staff is efficient , kind, and highly professional. The facility is spotless, and your hours make it so easy to get an appointment that fit into my schedule. Since Holly is fear aggressive , she has ""special needs"" and i was thrilled to see that you were able to put her right at ease. My search for a local vet that is both patient and understanding has come to an end thanks to you!! Our last local vet ( who shall remain nameless) had an entire staff of people who had no idea how to deal with a fear aggressive dog( or a paying customer for that matter). Dealing with a fear aggressive dog is a skill that not all people have and I am thankful that you have MASTERED it!! Although Holly was not on her best behavior (she said to tell you she'll try extra hard next time to be calmer), you took your time and waited for her to warm up and feel more comfortable. The extra time you took really made a difference. We are extremely thankful to have found you! more

Wonderful Veterinary Clinic 9/15/2010

BVC is a wonderful veterinary clinic. My fur babies have received excellent care from Dr. Seeley and all others on staff. They are prompt and efficient and do not waste time. I appreciate knowing that we will be seen at our scheduled appointment time. The BVC staff are realists. They love animals and give them 100% care but understand that most caregivers are not able to afford advanced care. They will provide all options without sugar-coating. I appreciate every part of their practice and count myself lucky to have my dogs as patients. Itravel almost an hour to see them and wouldn't change that for the world. Thank you BVC. more
