I was visiting ATL for the first time with my family and we wanted to eat at a good place that serve soul food. One of the front desk staff at the hotel gave us a list of restaurants and unfortunately Justin was on it. Our first impressions of the place was it looked nice and there was only two other people eating there. So we figure since no one was there our food would arrive quick, but this should of been a hint to run, the place was empty for a reason! The corn bread they give while u wait for the food was so cold and was under cook, we should of left then ,because if a place cant cook a simple bread right how could the food be good! We decided to stay because we did not want to get lost looking for another restaurant. When the food came out the portions were small and it taste awful. The fried chicken was dry, bland and just disgusting! Macaroni and cheese was awful, sweet plantains was dry, salad and green beans too salty. Rice had no flavor and the list goes on! The music pumping with songs that is 8 years old, no songs were recent and it is so loud that it gave us a headache.
When we came back to the hotel, all of us that ate the fried chicken became sick and felt like we needed to go to the hospital. I called the restaurant to find out if something was wrong with the chicken and the chief I talked to, responded as if he knew the chicken was bad.
This place almost ruin my trip because I felt so sick and had to get medicine from the hotel before considering the the hospital.
I?m surprised that this place is even getting business, the food is nasty, it over priced and they charge a 18% tip to your bill, which is not negotiable.
Be smart and listen to these reviews, I wish me and my family checked here first before going !
