Super store 7/11/2011

Recently I decided that it was time to paint my apartment, well actually I couldn?t look at the walls one minute longer, so off I went to Home Depot. I?ve been to lots of the larger home and hardware stores, and I usually end of feeling like an outsider but not at Home Depot. The staff helped me, and actually taught me a few things about the kind of paint I needed, as well as the tools, so next time it will be easier. \r \r I opted to get some paint mixed and while I usually go for the flat paint, they suggested a semi gloss when I said I wanted to be able to clean the walls. Not only did the paint look great, I was really happy with the finish, and it cleans like a charm. Then I decided to change my light fixtures, and I received the same kind of customer care that I got in the paint department, in the electrical department. \r \r They hire the nicest people at Home Depot, and thank god they know their stuff, because I don?t. Home Deot - greaat place 6/24/2011

What can be said. I have visited maybe a dozen home depot stores and expected the usual uneducated, disgruntled employees; If they were knowledgeable enough to be helpful to someone shopping at home depot they would be overqualified to hold that kind of job. So there was no surprise there. Just like every other home depot, they carry pretty much every material and tool one could expect in very disorganized stock shelves. But what I should have expected but didn't think about was how crowded and poorly laid out the store is. \r \r It is in Manhattan where real estate is at a premium and in order to keep prices reasonable the store could not be a normal size, but that's the thing-THE PRICES AREN'T VERY REASONABLE. I have not been to the store on 23rd st yet but I don't expect much better. If you want to go to this store, know exactly what you want before you get there, don't expect any real help from the employees and plan on spending some time searching around to find what you are looking more

In desperate need of new blinds for my apartment, I headed to home depot with window measurements in hand and a determination to check things off of that day?s to do list. Ever since I was a little kid, I have been overwhelmed by Home Depot. The 18,000 foot ceilings, the hundreds of people milling about, faucets on top of paint samples on top of potted plants, and the loud buzz of activity are enough to make any child a little wonky. As an adult, visiting the Mecca of home goods still invokes a slight sense of panic for me. Lucky for me Home Depot employs a top rate, accommodating staff to help guide you through the madness of lumber, lamps, and Lucite. Steering me through to the right section of this monolith of a store, Greg (my new best home depot friend) helped me pick out an affordable, attractive set of blinds for my bedroom as mine are about a hundred years old and falling apart. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced! DO NOT have anything delivered!!! 7/12/2007

I am a fairly reasonable person. Most would argue that I give stores, customer service agents, etc. the benefit of the doubt too often. I also try to praise indivicuals and service whenever possible so please excuse the rant, but people should be aware of the level of service they can expect at Home Depot on the East Side of Manhattan. Cons: Poor Customer Service, Inadequate Delivery System and Personnel more

Wanna get shafted?! Come to Home Depot! 12/13/2006

DO NOT shop here. We are in the midst of absolute hell just trying to get an order delivered. Not only did they not deliver when they said they would, but they won't return any phone calls (left 4 messages) and you can't get a live person. Sure, they'll take your money, but don't expect any decent level of customer service. An absolute nightmare. I have taken two days off from work and NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY! Pros: none that i can think of Cons: No customer service!!! more
