The girls in the front have the wrong attitude for this type of work. They do not seem to care about the patients, they are rude, and they have terrible communication skills.\r On our last 4 visits to this office, we have been there from 1 1/2 hours - 3 hours, every time.\r While out of flu vaccine about 4 months ago, we were told to call and make an appointment for the second dose. We left 4 voice messages on the matter with NO return call at all.\r We like Dr. Thompson, but we are seeking another Doctor because of the incompetence and rudeness of the front staff! more

Very unpleased with this office! Staff was always rude, doctor seemed uniterested in listening to my opinion & views & then they said they charge a $25 records fax/release fee!! never will I go back nor will I pay $25! more

This doctor's office is absolutely terrible! I took my boys to an 8:45 appt. last Tuesday. We arrived at 8:40 at the same time as the front desk girl. She looked right at us as we were approaching the door. She unlocked the back door and went in and ate her breakfast with the nurses for 10 minutes while I was locked outside in 40 degree weather with two sick kids - 2 and 3 years old! I finally had to look in the window to get their attention because my 3 yr. old had to use the restroom. They acted completely annoyed with me and I could overhear them complaining about me interrupting their breakfast!! The front desk girl came and unlocked the door and walked away w/o an apology or even a word. When I attempted to discuss my frustration with the dr, I was completely ignored. This is not my first issue with this office. We have waited over an hour each visit. Dr. Thomson doesn't come in until 11:00 each day. We really liked him at first so I scheduled an appt. with him at 11:00 one time even though I knew it was close to nap time. I had two kids under 2 waiting until 12:30! When I asked the other staff what was going on, they acted like I was high maintenance. Dr. Thomson finally arrived just as we were about to leave and said that he was at home and had lost track of time. This staff is so unprofessional. The girl at the front desk is unbelievably rude and doesn't even bother to answer the phone until 30 minutes after they are supposed to open. No one seems to care if you make a complaint and obviously will not apologize for anything. I had decided to change pediatricians during our last visit and after reading the other reviews here and seeing the very scary medical mistakes that they make, I am so glad to be leaving. This is an awful practice. I would give it 0 stars if I could. Please do not take your children here - you will definitely regret it!! I am a first grade teacher and will tell all of my teacher friends and my students' parents that they should avoid this office completely. more

Do not subject your children to this office! The staff is very unprofessional. Everytime I call in I wait on hold for 5-10 minutes only to finally be spoken to rudely by the front office staff. The waiting room is very small and is combined sick and healthy. The conversations I have overheard among the staff is totally inappropriate for any work environment, especially where it should be ""kid friendly."" The doctors are mediocre at best as far as their competency and have zero bedside manner. I took my children there for a few months trying to give them another chance but just cannot take it anymore. Several friends of mine have had similar experiences, so I know it is not just me. Do yourself a favor and take your children somewhere else. more

This is first (and I've been to lots in my military travels)pediatric office that I have felt that they (the staff) actually care and are not just there to get paid. They are always helpful in making an appointment for my children or if I am not sure if I really need to bring one in to be seen they will help me decide. My children have been going to Hamilton Mill Pediatrics since they were born. I have recently switched them to a new pediatric office due to their unprofessional staff. They are extremely rude on the phone and in person each time I interact with them. When I call to make appointments for checkups I have to wait 2-3 weeks every time. I wait at least an hour each time in the waiting room with an appointment. Their billing department is also very unorganized. It is a shame since we really liked the doctors. I have been taking my son to Dr Thompson for 3 years, and to date things have been above avg with service etc. Today, I took my son in and was made to wait in a room for over an hour. When I finally came decided to go ask if we were going to be seen by a doctor, I was told that my doctor was in the office consulting with Dr Thompson on a critical patient. As we went back to our room, I saw Dr Thompson and asked him how much longer my wait would be and if it was typical to wait this long. He said he would look into it, I then stated I was told my doctor was consulting with him, he said that was not true. I asked for an apology form the person who told me this and she stated she had never told me this. If someone providing care for my child would lie to me about something as simple as the doctor running behind, what else might they lie about. BE VERY SKEPTICAL of this office. more

I saw these reviews and took a leap to switch to this office trying to get an office closer to home, however, I was not happy with what transpired. The girl at the front desk is rude, but if you can get past her, Dr. Gross and Dr. Thompson are very sweet. The problems I had was that I was double charged not once, but twice by the front desk. No big deal there as it was eventually credited back to my account, but the big problems were in that I have a child with congenital heart disease. She became sick with a cold and some congestion. When I spoke to the Dr. on call, they advised me to give her Dimetapp DM. Long story short, I found the Dimetapp, but after reading the back, realized that it was not to be given to anyone with heart disease. I asked the pharmacist and was advised absolutely not to give this to my child. more

Dr. Thompson's office is wonderful! We were highly recommended to go there with our new born and were not disappointed. Getting shots for the first time is so difficult for the babies as well as the parents and they were quick and professional in getting it done with respect to both. We have just had our yearly checkup and still can't say enough about the practice. They've worked us in quickly when sick and have returned NUMEROUS weekend phone calls within minutes to put our minds at ease during different episodes that you go through as a parent. Again, can not recommend Hamilton Mill Pediatrics as well as the staff enough! Pros: Short waiting room time, friendly nurses, helpful and patient doctors Cons: None to speak of! more

Dr. Thompson and Dr. Maxey are two of the best pediatricians around. more

We have been coming to Dr. Thomson's practice for seven years. He is a skilled physician, great with the kids, and the office is efficiently run. We have never had difficulty getting a sick day appointment, nor have we had to wait more than 5 minutes when showing up on time for appointments. more
