First off, we were blessed by the weather! Blue sky, upper 60's, no wind. And then, midweek on a Wednesday, very few people. Too bad for GI, but wonderful for us. We didn't have t...

Graet Place 10/28/2002

This is a really good value for the money. Even if you only use the different whirlpools and the mud bath it's really great. Pros: Inexpensive, Variety more

great "no-frills" spa 10/23/2002

My friends and I went to Glen Ivy and really enjoyed the facilities. However, if you're used to the royal treatment (plush bathrobes, slippers, fluffy white towels, beautiful locker area, and all the extras to get ready with) than you may be disappointed. Once we adjusted to the surroundings, we had a great relaing day. We went on a Friday which was really packed, I've heard that Saturday and Sunday can be worse. If you want a quiet getaway, than Monday -Thursday would probably be your best bet. more

GREAT IF YOU DON'T NEED A MANAGER 9/30/2002

I HAD BOOKED MY APPT 2 MONTHS PRIOR FOR MYSELF AND 6 FRIENDS. WE KNEW JUNE WOULD BE BUSY AT THE SPA. THE SPA DIRECTOR REFUSED TO HELP US WHEN OUR APPTS WERE LOST. SHE ACTUALLY SAID SHE WAS BUSY!!! THEY NEED SOME CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THE MANAGEMENT LEVEL. OTHERWISE THINGS WERE OK. CROWDS, A CAFE THAT DOES'T COME CLOSE TO ACCOMODATING THE PEOPLE AND A MUD GROTTO THAT DOES NOT TAKE APPTS. more

I love Glen Ivy. It's a great place to go to get away without spending loads of money - that is, if you skip the treatments. It's not a place to go for serenity as there are too many people with too much to gossip about. I go about two-three times a year to get away from it all, hang in the pools and get muddy. The treatments I've received are not worth the big bucks they charge (go to Ojai Valley to pay big bucks for an "oh-so-worth-it" massage!), but all in all a fabulous and fun get away. Major plus - NO CHILDREN! Pros: Mud Bath, Wading Pools, Inexpensive Entry Cons: Too Loud, So-So Treatments more

Best De-stress 7/29/2002

After an incredably stressful time, my best friend surprised me with a gift certificate to Glen Ivy Hot Springs for my birthday. It was exactly what I needed and my skin felt so great afterwards! • The Scene
Steal away to this unpretentious spa to experience the waters that have soothed weary souls since the 1860s. These natural hot springs draw a mostly middle-aged suburban crowd, which means you needn't fret about how last season's swimsuit fits now. Rather than quiet and contemplative, it's more of an upbeat social scene--expect conversations to be struck up all the while as you soak, swim, float and lounge.

    The Services
Admission buys access to the 17 pools and spas on-site, which include the signature red-clay mud bath, a saltwater spa, hot mineral pools and two "champagne" pools--shallow tubs with carbonation-like bubbles floating up from the bottom. Glen Ivy's latest addition is the "Grotto"--an underground treatment area where guests slather on aloe-and-kelp body moisturizer and retreat into the hydrating chamber. Spa treatments and salon services require reservations, but general admission and the Grotto service do not.
