Best

First off, we were blessed by the weather! Blue sky, upper 60's, no wind. And then, midweek on a Wednesday, very few people. Too bad for GI, but wonderful for us. We didn't have t...

Worst

I thought the grounds were very nice. I had a 50 minute facial scheduled for 12. The facialist didn't call me back to the room till 12:15 then my facial latest only 45 minutes. I ...

Pretty awesome, but crowded and dirty 7/13/2011

Lots of pools to choose from, beautiful landscape. But the pools were pretty dirty and just way too crowded. more

Must Experience 7/8/2011

When I leave Glen Ivy I am always planning my next trip. If I want quiet it's there. If I want pampering it's there. All sizes and shapes so no one has to feel uncomfortable. And don't forget to eat the food. Excellent more

mothers day gift 7/5/2011

wait was too long. Late for first appointment which kept me from enjoying my two other appointments. doubtful if I will return. more

Disappointing 6/30/2011

I went with 4 friends to celebrate a birthday. There were far too many people in too small an area to call this place relaxing. The pools were packed with people, the water looked like there was an oil spill, there was a wait in the locker room for everything, the towels were thin and ragged. Both the food and massage were good however. Won't be back anytime soon. more

What a rip off! 6/30/2011

I came here to enjoy a nice relaxing spa day with my girlfriends for my birthday. I felt instead like I got a combination of Disneyland and a public pool. Plus I spent more than I would have on a day at Disneyland. First of all the wait time just to get in with an appointment was forty minutes! If I didn't plan on getting a service the line would have been even longer. The yoga class was a complete joke. The guy started late but still ended on time and the practice required no effort. Save your money and book a service at a real spa where the hot tub and sauna will be complimentary and the food won't be from a cheap cafeteria. more

Amazing Treat! 6/30/2011

My mom and I have been to Glen Ivy twice in the past 2 years and have had an amazing time both visits! So tranquil, relaxing and quiet! Plenty to do to spend days there soaking up the sun, relaxing in the mineral baths, roman baths and multiply swimming pools! We did the Grotto treatment and I absolutely adored it! We also had massages done, they were perfect! I could literally spend 3 days straight there, we always leave wishing we had more time! The food is delicious and very well presented. We have made Glen Ivy an annual trip in June and I wouldn't change anything about it. Even if you don't get services done, there is so much to do all over the resort. The Mud bath is so much fun and very effective! I can't wait until next june! more

Anniversary Get Away 6/28/2011

Had a wonderful day. This was my 7yr Anniversary, My husband and I enjoyed a couple's massage and relaxed the whole day at Glen Ivy Hot Springs. It was a perfect Romantic day to spend with my Husband. My Husband had never experienced the mud bath,it was his first time and he really enjoyed it. We are always so busy and at Glen Ivy we were allowed to escape for the day.Thank you Glen Ivy. more

paradise to headache 6/28/2011

I took my teenage daughter for the first time on Sunday. We had a great time but the wait to get in was horrible. It took almost an hour to get into paradise. We had a headache by the time we finally got in. The prices are higher on the weekend and the wait is horrible. Prices should be less for the wait. more

Appointment Confirmation 6/25/2011

Totally dig this new appoointment confirmation via email! How cool is this! more

This goes without saying, but... 6/24/2011

The Glen Ivy spa is the real thing, and it's a great deal. Literally, it is the first place my wife and I headed to after our marriage, and we've been back many times since. I am hardly a "spa" guy, but I have to admit that I find the hot mineral water bath, and especially the red mud bake, worth the basic price of admission all by themselves. The many other services pay dividends as well (if you know what I mean ;-) more

Review of Glen Ivy - Tuesday, June 21st 6/23/2011

On arrival (approx. 10:00 am) we had to stand in line for approx. 20 - 25 minutes just to check in. This ended up throwing off our entire stay as we had noon facial appointsments and 2:15 Grotto appts. Lunch was squeezed in between those and again, a long line just to get in the door of the cafe. On a plus side, the facial was absolutely wonderful, lunch was superb! But on the way home we felt we had been rushed and didn't really have time to totally relax. Don't know if there's a way to streamline the check in. That really "ate" into our time. more

One of the best massage experiences 6/22/2011

I spent a splendid afternoon, soaking in the various pools and hot tubs, indulged in the mud pack, then wrapped up my day with a really wonderful massage. My therapist was wonderful and very attentive to what I needed. Some information I gave, but he was able to locate all of the held tension and helped me to release it! It was great!! more

AMAZING 6/22/2011

I have been going to Glen Ivy for more than 14 years and I think it just gets better and better with all the new additions. My all time favorite thing is just laying in the lounge pool and relaxing!! So much to do and hard to squeeze everything in just one day!! more

Save your money don't get massages here... 2/14/2010

Went for Valentine's Weekend.. Enjoyed the Club Mud & The Grotto... Did not try the Mineral Bath... Had a 80 min. massage that was by far my worst experience .. The Therapist must have been 23 yrs old at the most and just had no clue.. It was a rip off to me I've had better massages done at my nail salon than here.. But I must say its a good place to go with girls for a spa day and hang out at the pool get a mani & pedi I just dont recommend the massages here.. The staff is also very unprofessional know one knows whats going on kind of enviroment.. Hope this helps Pros: Cafe Food Was Good Cons: Loud & Amateur Massage Therapist more

My Kind of Spa 2/1/2010

I have been to this spa on several occasions, In fact, I have been there over Mothers Day weekend which is quite possibly the busiest day of the year. Even then, you are able to find wonderful places to relax. Do not go to Glen Ivy expecting the prissy, secluded spa environment at some private expensive day spa where you feel like they are watching your every move, because Glen Ivy Hot Springs is a place where you have the freedom to make your own experience. Some areas are busier than others and they do allow kids so some areas may not be as "relaxing" but I we always able to find a place to relax without issue. You need to bring your own supplies (robe, coverup, sandals, etc) but they have all the items to take a shower. Personally I prefer to be in my own stuff anyway. Definitely bring an old swim suit because the mud bath is amazing for your skin (especially dry elbows) but it will stain light colored suits. I usually just wear an old one to the spa, its not like I am there to impress anyone anyway. The thing I like about Glen Ivy is I never feel intimidated like I have at other spas, its really is an every-mans day spa. They have services to make any budget happy and honestly I couldn't think of a more relaxing place in So Cal for the money. Pros: Lots of choices for Relaxing Cons: It can get very busy more

A nice family Spa 8/6/2009

I read a few reviews about Glen Ivy, didn't think I would like it. But went with my friend, and had a wonderful time. The "lady" that said to many FAT people and ugly kids, watch out for Karma! The food was over priced and not that good. But other than that, I will go back next time I'm in California. It cost 38-58? to get in for the day, depending on the day of the week.,which I thought was great. If you want any massages it will cost you more, but well worth it. The grounds are beautiful. If you think you are high class, or prissy, Please do not go. Go somewhere they take care of your sorry butt, and the rest of us don't have to put up with you. Then we can enjoy ourselves. This is a family place, so if you don't like kids, stay away!! Don't bring a towel, use theirs. And depending on the material, the mud can ruin your suit. Pros: Family Place Cons: Food to expensive more

No spa here 7/10/2009

This place is not even close to a spa. It is like a water park without the rides. Too many loud people ( S.T.F.U.) that don't understand a spa atmosphere. There was disgusting skin (and lots of it) floating in the pools. There was hair on the benches in the steam room. It was so vile that it makes my stomach turn while I'm typing this. I guess with the economy they laid-off the cleaning people. What a f*****g rip off. Don't even waste your time going to this joint. You're better off going to the local drug-store and buying a tub of mud and a plastic pool and make your own spa...........it will be more relaxing and guaranteed the water will be clean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: cafe food is yummy Cons: dirty water, dirty steam room, loud people, no spa here more

  • The Scene
Steal away to this unpretentious spa to experience the waters that have soothed weary souls since the 1860s. These natural hot springs draw a mostly middle-aged suburban crowd, which means you needn't fret about how last season's swimsuit fits now. Rather than quiet and contemplative, it's more of an upbeat social scene--expect conversations to be struck up all the while as you soak, swim, float and lounge.

    The Services
Admission buys access to the 17 pools and spas on-site, which include the signature red-clay mud bath, a saltwater spa, hot mineral pools and two "champagne" pools--shallow tubs with carbonation-like bubbles floating up from the bottom. Glen Ivy's latest addition is the "Grotto"--an underground treatment area where guests slather on aloe-and-kelp body moisturizer and retreat into the hydrating chamber. Spa treatments and salon services require reservations, but general admission and the Grotto service do not.
