I had a heater core go bad, I knew it was bad before I came in. I was going on a trip so I told Steve that I would just bypass the heater core myself. Steve said no let me do it with a proper hose size reducer. So I made an appointment for following day. The following day I brought it in and Steve or Mike was not there. So they went to work on it and it took longer than I expected. They left a significant puddle of antifreeze in the passenger side carpeting which we didn't discover until half way through our trip. Some of the antifreeze may have already been there but they did a pressure test which probably added a lot more. Why didn't they suck it up or tell me about it? Don't know yet what it will do to my carpeting. Shocker $139 !!! I was expecting $30 or $40 for the bypass. I didn't need a diagnostic charge, I already knew what was wrong. Quote for heater core replacement was $900 from the man behind the counter. I got it done elsewhere for $630. Man behind the counter killed it for me, no longer a customer, sorry. Don't believe this would have happened if Steve or Mike were handling it. more

Everyone here is friendly, knowlegable, and experienced. The work is done promptly, and they let you know if there's more work that should be done, give you an estimate, and also advise you what works needs to be done immediately and what can wait. Their prices are very fair, and in many cases, cheaper than others. My car goes nowhere but Friendly Auto for service. They're the best! more

Honest estimates with fair pricing more

On the recommendation of my father I took my 2011 Equinox to Friendly Auto Center after it overheated. After they diagnosed the problem they informed me that they found a dealer service recall (my warranty expired) for the part that was broken. For a small diagnostic fee and towing I got the problem fixed FREE. 20 minutes after picking my car up from the dealership the check engine light went back on. The dealer diagnosed the problem and told me it was not at all related to the previous fix so the total would be around $700. I declined their service to take it back to Friendly's. I got a call soon after from Steve the owner and he informed me that in order to complete the previous work the "newly broken" part needed to be removed and that this was a problem caused by the dealer. He recommended that I call and speak to a service manager and gave me terms to use to sound knowledgeable. I called the dealership and within 10 minutes the service manager agreed to not only fix my car for FREE but he agreed to pay have it towed from Friendly's to to the dealership. Steve was nothing but thrilled to hear that they agreed to fix their mistake. I would have never known about the service recall or the process that broke the second part. Due to Friendly Auto Center's selflessness I got 2 parts fixed by the dealership for FREE when I very easily could have paid over $1,000 in repairs. Amazing experience with them and I won't go anywhere else. more
