Fast Friendly Service Right When You Need it 7/28/2011

I just moved to the city to start my college studies and my parents rented me an incredible apartment. I threw a house warming party in order to mingle with my new community; needless to say my place got trashed. There were red wine stains on the carpet and someone had spilled bong water all over my brand new Couch. I got a call the morning after to find out my parents were on their way to come see how I had settled in. I freaked, if my dad was to see the mess I could wave bye bye to the new apartment. My friend told me to call Flat Rate so I did and a technician was at my door within 30 minutes, he managed to get the stains out, and deodorize my mattress, by the time he left my apartment was looking great and smelling fresh. more

Quality Service at affordable prices 7/28/2011

My girlfriends Dog got into our Chinese take out dinner and threw up all over my mattress. The smell took over and reeked into my living room. I called Flat Rate Carpet and they gave me an appointment the same day. They got the odor out and sanitized the mattress leaving it as good as new. I highly recommend these guys, they are punctual and professional. more

Fast Efficient and Professional 7/4/2011

This company did a great job at cleaning up a dog urine stain on my carpet. They even came back free of charge when the smell wasn't totally gone the first time. Great customer service, reasonable pricing, and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend using them. more

R.E.A.D Absolutely NOT 5 star. I actually called ""Green Cleaning"" but somehow I got stuck with this company. I made an appointment because of the free estimate and this guy comes says a steaming is a $120, then says that it does nothing. He tells me I need a deep clean which is $310, then starts to roll up the rug. He did not measure or really even look at it, or the runner. Then he says ""oh these are silk, they have to be dry cleaned thats $600"" !!! NO WAY. I am looking at their reviews and the people who have them as 5 stars only have one review, surprise surprise. I found another company not linked to them and only payed $95 !!! more

These guys were very professional, and really knew what they were doing. It was very easy to get an appointment time that worked for me, and after I okay'd the price they did the work right away. No extra appointments, just in and out in under an hour and my carpets look great. I already recommended Flat Rate Carpet to my neighbor. more

Bait and Switch... Don't Use 5/27/2011

I found these guys through an internet search. I called them and asked for a price to clean two rooms of carpeting. They said it would be between and $60 and $80. When they arrived, their ""estimator"" took a quick look and said it would cost $225. I told himI what I was quoted and he said that was for ""steam cleaning"" which wouldn't clean the carpet, only ""fluff it up."" I sent them packing. I called back their office to express my concern and they never returned my call. Avoid these guys! more

A company that stands behind their work! 5/16/2011

These guys were affordable, quick and very friendly. I couldn't afford a big job, but after I had a little cat urine problem on my favorite armchair I really needed to get something done. They came out right away and gave me a price I could work with. The next day I still smelled a bit of the stain, which they told me to watch out for because cat urine stains are tough, and they came out the next day and redid the cleaning free of charge. Now that's a company that stands behind their work! more

I called this company after looking on the web. It was the first company that showed up in Google search and looked like a safe bet. They offer an estimate with no obligation. I decided to go ahead as I felt I had nothing to lose. As they reminded me multiple times over the phone that if I didn't like the price I could send the technician away without paying anything. I liked having a technician walk me through the process and giving me an accurate price on the cleaning that was needed. In the end, their technician offered me a good price and was very thorough. I was very pleased with this service and will defiantly use them in the future. more

Expensive & sloppy 5/11/2011

First, Flat Rate Carpet and NY-Carpet.dotcom have merged... same company, two different websites. So, red flag there. I called Flat Rate to have my sofa cleaned. They gave me a base price of $65 on the phone. News flash... their prices are really: $65 (to clean your sofa with water) $185 (to clean your sofa with soap and water) approx $250 to do a deep cleaning with Scotch Guard and the words. The only price they give on the phone is $65 - they don't make any mention that it's just for a water cleaning. The guy showed up on time, but he was pretty new to the job. He sloshed water all over my apartment, didn't know who I should make my check payable to, didn't know which receipt I should get, and asked for a tip in cash. Yes...as I was writing the check he actually said ""but I prefer any tip you give me in cash, please"". He was nice enough. But it was tacky. This company did the job overall... my sofa is still wet and I can't tell if it's really clean yet. But the experience was lack luster. And it was too expensive. more
