This company is why people go ""postal""! I'm guessing family owned because woman manager is the rudest woman I've ever talked to & she answers to no one apparently. They have no business working with the public ....save yourself the stress & find another company. more

When I went to drop off the device for warranty repair they seemed a little shady and pretty unprofessional but I figured all I needed was for them to do a warranty repair. How can they mess that up? Wrong! They do not call back to let the customer know anything and when I called to get an update the woman that answered had a bad attitude from the start! And it only got worse from there. Unprofessional, rude and incompetent! Cannot meet their own deadlines, make promises that do not keep and try to intimidate the customers by yelling. Had my device for 3 weeks, could not find the problem or send it back. They took almost 2 weeks just to look at it and even though they replicated the problem once they decided to just keep it on, until I called. I am still waiting to receive it back.... Mind you, they charged for shipping in cash upfront so now they are not in a rush and it has been 3 days since they were supposed to ship it back. Reported to manufacturer!\r \r AVOID BY ALL MEANS! more

Jason Schatten help solve my problem with my TV via email which was a problem with the cable box and I was sure it was the TV. Jason solved the problem and there was no charge and saved me taking the TV in and paying a fee to find out there was nothing wrong with it. Thanks Jason for sharing your knowledge with me and saving me time and money. I would certainly trust Electronic Laboratory with my TVs. more

Working in a consumer electronics service center is not the easiest job in the world. We receive numerous phone calls per day from consumers that want “FREE” estimates over the phone. They want “FREE” estimates without giving us the benefit of seeing their unit and performing a proper diagnosis on the unit. In order to perform a proper and “ACCURATE” diagnosis on any piece of consumer electronics, the unit “MUST” be physically opened and inspected by an electronics technician, not by someone reading from a script from a computer screen that is physically in another state or maybe even in another country. Many consumers turn to the internet to attempt to diagnose their units as well. The internet may sometimes be correct; however, in most cases it is not. The “ONLY” honest and true way to get an “ACCURATE” diagnosis and estimate on a piece of consumer electronics is to bring it (or have a technician come to your home) in for service. Furthermore, “EVERY HONEST AND REPUTABLE” service center will charge an estimate fee up front. It is actually quite simple. These service centers provide a service that the consumers need and charge for their time and knowledge, just as if an automobile was being taken to an automobile repair shop. \r In today’s world, consumers expect immediate and quick service. This is offered by most service centers (provided the parts are readily available). Most service centers will charge expedited shipping charges or possibly a rush fee (to move your unit ahead of every other unit that is already in the service center in process). \r A lot of service centers work extremely hard to please their customers. However, it is impossible to please one hundred percent of the people one hundred percent of the time. This is when consumers turn to sites like this. These sites give consumers a place to voice their experiences (whether good or bad). Most of the time consumers that are happy with a service will not write a review for a service center. However, consumers that are unhappy will turn to every site that they can think of instead of contacting management or even an owner of a service center and discussing their issue one on one like a person of integrity would do. A person of integrity would contact the owner of a service center and give the owner a chance to make things right rather than turning to the internet. The internet gives consumers an unfair advantage compared to businesses. \r Thank you very much for your time and have a very nice day!!! more

I had the worse experience and would highly recommend not ever using Electronic Laboratory unless you want to be taken advantage of. I simply requested for one piece of information that clearly defines what their diagnosis would include. They still wanted to charge me $200 for absolutely nothing that they did and more importantly the lady who answers the phone could not have been more rude. \r \r Good luck ever doing business with this company. And happy holidays! more

WE DON'T NEED YOUR BUSINESS 10/17/2011

Over the years we've been a loyal ""Electronic Laboratory's"" customer and sent them a ton of business without ever asking for a deal or a break and paid whatever they asked. Last week, they rudely talked to me like we just met or was born yesterday. Long story short...we brought a JBL 10"" subwoofer in for repair, paid the $53.00 estimate fee and a few weeks later, we received an inflated bill for $450.00 when they simply could have made a recommendation to buy a brand new one for only $269. Finally, After all was said and done...I couldn't believe my ears, they told us ""we don't need your business"". This is the thanks you get for being loyal in Florida! --Semone Zamyatin, Ultra Technologies, Fort Lauderdale. more

HONEST, DECENT AND GREAT SERVICE IN ELECTRONICS 4/3/2011

We must be aware of our attitude, when going to repair an appliance…Ladies & Gents IT IS NOT the fault of the repair company/reprensentives. \r \r I know because I was a little upset. Bought a TV back in 2007 never worked properly it is a 55"" so you know about how much I paid -due to illness hardly used it, was using the one in my bedroom. Called Sony they gave the number to Electronic Laboratories @ Copans. \r \r This company really raised the bar on customer service! I went in with a chip on shoulder, no warranty I needed to pay but to my surprise, I was greet with sympathy and understanding, plus FREE advice.\r \r My TV had a recall the set had a bad optic block, they said the repair was $1,350.00. That Sony had paid for repairs in the past, but recently began providing a discount off replacement TVs! \r \r Need repair of an electronic item? These are great people. How often do you find a business that tells you what to do, and does not give you the round around to get your money when there no fixing it!\r \r Don't think twice just go by and see these honest people. BUT remember leave your chip at the door. I promise, you’re in for life, you will NEVER go to another repair store ”THEY ARE THE REAL THING”\r more

Business Is Helpful and Honest 2/6/2011

I have dealt with this business for a number of years. Sometimes I hired them to do repairs and other times they gave me an excellent recommendation and did not a repair. Just recently they they really raised the bar on customer service.\r \r I went in with several photos of 60"" Sony Wega to ask why myt TV had a number of blue swirls or lines. They advisedd that my set had a bad Optic Block. They gave me a phone number for Sony and advised me to call Sony and discuss it with them. \r \r They explained that the repair was about $950 and that Sony had paid for repairs in the past but they thought that Sony had recently begun to provide a discount off replacement TVs. I called Sony and got a great deal buying a new TV' about 33% of retail. \r \r Need repair of an electronic item? These are great people. How often do you find a business that tells you what to do so that YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY THEM. Don't think twice just go by.and see these honest people.\r more

10 Minute Fix 2/5/2011

Found the shop on the Marantz website - my AV receiver had the flashing light went online saw that I could reset it myself decided not to chance it and take it in since it is still under warranty. While we worked on me providing the bill of sale for the warranty work the guys took the receiver back and did their magic. I was prepared to leave the receiver there and come back for it - great that I did not have to - thanks ELTR! more

Going the extra mile 1/24/2011

It's rare these days to get acceptable service, but I have to compliment Jason at Electronic Labs who heard my complaint about poor service from the manufacturer on my warranty repair and called the company and got an excahnge unit shipped to me within a few days. He called several times and put me in touch with the right person to make it happen. I've used E.L. for warranty work in the past and had good luck so even though I live 20 miles away I keep going back because they are the best around. more

Fair, Helpful and Honest 1/24/2011

It's a breath of fresh air these days when you're treated fairly and are helped to understand electronic problems and solutions. And further, to help a customer with the manufacturer. I found that to be the case with this company, who I have used for service on several occasions. I would highly recommend their service. more

Major Ripoff Artist! 5/24/2010

Company is $53 just to look at your set (non-refundable). This is much higher than most TV repair shops which charge about $29 for a diagnostic fee. \r I called up after I dropped off my TV to find out about the status, and left two messages, both of them unreturned. Eventually the company called me up to ask me if I wanted to replace the board inside the TV which they said needed to be replaced. I told them to go ahead, since I was already comitted for $53. \r They said any repairs would be deducted from the $53 I had already spent. The receptionist, who is not very friendly, said it would be $225 plus tax to replace the board, that would come to $185.50 after the $53 diagnotic fee was taken into account.\r When I got there, the unfriendly receptionist asked for $190.80 she said there was a junk-fee for ""shop supplies"" for $5.30. She said that I signed my paperwork acknowledging that, and then she pointed to a board that had about fifty different prices, one of them said shop fees $2, which certainly doesn't match-up with $5.30. \r I later checked my paperwork; it said shop fees of $5.30 wil. This is not English and it frankly means nothing when someone who is just getting an estimate looks at this unintelligible English. \r This company is all business and all about sacking you for as much money as possible, they will nickle-and-dime you anway they can! After I paid all their ridiculous fees, including $90 per hour for labor, the technician didn't even offer to carry the TV out to my car. \r If I spend ten dollars at Publix they carry out my groceries; at this place they offer no extras, except extra charges to sack you as much as they can. Awful service--they should be called the Dewey, Cheatem and Howe of TV repair!\r Pros: Let you know when I think of one Cons: See Below more
