Dental Salon

Having ""shopped around"" for a dentist for four years since moving to the city, I finally found Dental Salon last year and have been a patient there ever since. On one end of the spectrum was a dentist who painfully scraped away for hours at my teeth with devices that looked to be from early last century and charged be $500 on top of my insurance. On the other end is the dentist who cleaned my teeth for all of two minutes before declaring me good to go, and then didn't charge me my co-pay on my insurance. Dental Salon is the high point in the middle. While it's a bit more expensive than some other dentists I've seen, I have found it to be completely worth every extra penny. The office is set up like a spa, which might matter to some people, but isn't really a big deal to me. Doesn't hurt, but isn't a big factor for me. What really matters is that my hygienists have always been fabulous - really thorough cleanings using the pressure washer and lots of information about areas that I'm not brushing as well in, what kind of toothbrush they recommend, etc. The dentists are also highly skilled and friendly and not at all weird. Dr. Liphoff did my veneers and I get compliments on them all the time (from people who knew my teeth before - anyone who didn't can't tell they're not my original teeth!) I absolutely adore my teeth now and find myself smiling all the time. I've also seen Dr. Palella who was also incredibly nice and spent several minutes talking to me about my teeth - not the usual ""no cavities"" and run I've gotten from the actual dentist most places. So all in all, I completely and highly recommend Dental Salon! Pros: Really thorough cleanings, state of the art equipment Cons: A little more expensive than some other dentists I've seen more

they're open evenings and on weekends (even sunday) so they can always work around a tough schedule...and they'll really go out of their way to make sure everything possible is covered by insurance. really friendly staff and knowledgeable doctors who are constantly bettering themselves to help their clients! even conveniently located to the brown and red line! I was able to schedule my appoinment the same week I contacted them, took me in for work on time, had good conversations with the dental assistant and dentist, and had a painless experience. more

I have been going to Dental Salon for over a year now and I've had nothing but positive experiences. From the minute you walk in the door the staff is there to make you feel comfortable. Although I've never had to wait longer than five minutes, the waiting room is beautiful. And the exam rooms are all open (some with great views of the city) and very pleasant. The assistants are very gentle when flossing and polishing and the doctors are very professional and personable. I see Dr. Glud and she always makes a point to ask about my life and even remembered what I do. They are also very honest. They're not trying to sell you on anything and, to prove it, they can pull up pictures of your teeth right there on a computer screen! The technology is impressive and really makes you feel like you're getting the best and latest in dental care. The whole experience is so nice you forget you're at the dreaded dentist. Oh, and they validate parking in the structure right there in the building. You can't ask for more! Check them out, you won't be disappointed! Pros: Fast and painless! more

The quality of people and service is generally great. They use state of the art technology. \r \r One possible improvement would be getting small TVs in the exam rooms. I had my first dental appointment at the Dental Salon last week and had a great experience! The staff was professional and friendly, the location was ideal, and the offices were very modern. I've been going to the Dental Salon for over 2 years now and always had a great experience. Their office hours are very convenient including evenings and weekends. The place is always well staffed, organized and the wait is minimal. Everybody is friendly and attentive. Both doctors I've seen take the time to explain the procedure and are gentle and attentive. I have lived in 12 states, and this is by far the best dentist office I've come across. Dental Salon has a friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, convenient location, and hours that will fit almost any schedule. 6:30 appointments are no problem here, and they are open on weekends too. Everyone at the office is very friendly. The office is very clean, has wonderful views of city, service is fast, they validate parking, and they have the best magazine selection in the waiting room and in every paitent room. They do not make going to the dentist scary. They explain everything as they do it. Pros: Great office with views of city, clean, fast, friendly! more

I have been going to Dental Salon since I moved to Chicago (3 visits now) and never had a problem. In all 3 cases I have received service from different staff and doctors, which is fine with me as I requested “first available” when I made my appointments. Even though the large staff makes it somewhat hard to get to know them on a one on one basis, it is also nice since you never have a problem getting in. I know that if I wanted to see some specific, they would get me in to see that person. Many on the staff are younger and you can tell still learning, but I have never worried that something is done wrong because of this. While not necessarily important to the quality of service, the office is very new and modern and feels very clean. If you dread going to the Dentist, it’s not like walking into a dark, old, office building. Everyone was wonderful, I am very happy with my work that I had done. When I first walked in the receptionist was very consoling and sooooo nice because I was upset. The dental assistant and the doctor were just as great too. They got me in right away and completed quite a big project if you as me at very short notice. I highly recommend this office to everyone. I just had another great experience at Dental Salon. I was running a little late and called ahead - and when I got there I signed it and a minute later was in the room. They were very friendly and personable, the cleaning and check up went quickly, they answered all my questions...what more can you want? And the Dental Salon is great about squeezing you in for last minute appointments and are open on weekends, so there's no excuse not to go! Pros: Friendly, fast, efficient and knowledgeable more

I was so afraid of the dentist that I didn't go for years. I mean years! I heard about the Dental Salon through a co-worker who loved it, I decided to try it out. I was so scared but Dr. Olberholser was the best dentist ever. He was very understanding. Anyways, long story short, I'm no longer scared out of my mind to go to the dentist. I really look forward to it now. I would recommend this place to everyone. They are so helpful, professional and nice. As long as I live in Chicago I'll never go anywhere else! Dental Salon is great, by far one of the best dental offices in the city of Chicago. I've been going to them for over 4 years and have never once thought about switching to another dentist. Pros: Open 7 days a week and until 8:00 p.m. M - F Cons: none really more

I had not been to a dentist in awhile and was nervous about my first visit. Dr. Scott Overholser was great about taking his time to be thorough and not rushing since I was a patient after 6pm. He explained what I need, what my options were, and how insurance could help. I was very pleased and look forward to going again. I'm very glad that my nervousness was unnecessary and I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for dental care. Everyone was so nice and informative. I haven't been to the dentist for 20 years, so definitely need a lot of work done to my teeth. Surprisingly, Dr. Morris and his staff didn't give me a guilt trip about avoiding the dentist for so long. Everyone was kind, professional and straight forward, just the way I like it. I broke a tooth flossing after lunch - on a workday. An associate recommended Dental Salon and I called immediatiely and they had me in within 2 hours. After a brief evaluation - in detail I was scheduled for the crown I needed. Dr. Glud was kind, professional and accomodating - I am extremely nervous at the dentist. The process was seemless. I have finally found a place to trust. The assistants are also amazing, kind and professional. I cannot say enough about Dental Salon and Dr. Glud.
