I just had a root canal and 2 fillings done by Dr. Morris and I am REALLY impressed.\r \r My root canal didn't hurt at all during the procedure and hardly ever in the days afterward. I'd heard horror stories about painful root canals and was super nervous, but mine was completely painless! I just listened to my iPod during the procedure and hardly knew they'd gotten started by the time they finished. I was in and out in less than an hour, including the time it took for the novacaine to set in.\r \r I went back this afternoon to get the crown put in and have 2 cavities filled. Once again, it was completely painless. The numbness has worn off and I still don't feel any pain. The whole thing took less than an hour again!\r \r The only thing that frustrated me a bit was the issues I had with pricing. I was quoted one price originally, then a second on my root canal visit. Then I was quoted a third this afternoon. They were very nice about the mix-ups and it ended up being much cheaper than I had expected. Just make sure to remember how much you're quoted and ask them to double check anything that doesn't sound right.\r \r All in all, I definitely would recommend them to a friend. I'm one of those people who is deathly afraid of the dentist and to be honest, I didn't dread my visit today one bit. Pros: Painless, quick root canal! Cons: Billing mix-ups more

The dental salon offers a great environment and a very friendly staff. They are open 7 days a week and it's always easy to make an appointment at a time convenient for you. They accept most insurance plans and are always up front if there will be additional costs. I've gone to two different dentists within the dental salon, and both were great! If you're looking for a dentist in Chicago this is the place to go! Pros: All good! more

So I have mixed reviews about this dentist office, ""salon."" \r \r The first time I went to the office (summer of 08'), I went because my client Dr. Lifford was a dentist there. However, when I arrived she I guess had called in and I was given to another dr. named Dr. Morris. He was nice, just wasn't very enthuastic about his job.\r \r So since sicknesses happen I decided that when my 6mth checkup came again I would give it another shot. This time I got Dr. Lipoff and what a difference! He was kind, ethuastic about his work, and even asked about my life.\r \r The reason I gave three stars is for a MAJOR error that hopefully will stop. I had an impacted wisdom tooth that needed to come out so that was my biggest reason for coming to the dentist. After my first visit I had scheduled my appt. for an oral surgeon for the winter (when my ins. would kick in). When it came close to my appt. I called to confirm the time and they told me the dr. wasn't there on those days anymore. So I had to reschedule. I was a little annoyed because I had to take off work days to do this. So then I was booked for an appt. in early January to get the procedure done on the dr.'s ""new hours."" However, when I came in for my second dentist checkup I asked about the appt. and once again the dr.'s days changed. \r \r What upsets me most about this is that they NEVER called to tell me this and let me just say I had an annoyed boss because I kept changing my days off. \r \r So if you need a good dentist, I'd recommend Dr. Lipoff. However, STEER CLEAR OF THE ORAL SURGEONS!! Why? Because you'll never see him! lol Pros: nice environment, insurance accepted, nice hygenists Cons: bad booking more

I have been through many dentists here in Chicago, and I have not found the dentist I like until I made and appointment at the Dental Salon. The atmosphere is amazing, and the views are spactacular. They have performed services on my teeth and it has been painless. I highly recommend people to the Dental Salon especially if you are nervous about seeing a dentist. Pros: open 7 days a week more

After a bad dental experience I was searching for a new dentist. Dental Salon was highly recommended by numerous friends and now I can see why. From the very minute I walked in, I felt comfortable and at ease. They're friendly and sympathetic staff was amazing. Their dentists even perform the cleanings on patients themselves, so there is even more face to face time with your dentist. \r Comfortable chairs with a great view of the city, tv screens hooked up to the chair to view xrays, and privacy are just a few of the perks of dental salon. \r more

I used to hate going to the dentist, that changed during my first visit to the Dental Salon. I was greeted with a friendly energetic staff that was ready to make my dental problems go away. I orignally went for a cleaning, but I ended up liking my dentist and the staff. The dentists there thrive for perfection in their work, which is why I decided to stick with them. I'm so satisfied with their previous work that I just started my Invisalign process with them. I highly recommend them. I was recommended to Dental Salon by a friend and have been nothing but satisfied on both visits. I am just like everyone else and nervous about going to the dentist, but the all of the dental assistants that I have encountered and my Dentist (Dr. Julie Glud) have been amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a great dentist in Lincoln Park (or has easy access to a car or the red line). Pros: parking is free for an hour Cons: parking is $5 if you are over an hour, even just by 5 minutes more

I am embarrassed to say I actually enjoy going to the Dental Salon - or at the very least I don't dread it. After having had my mouth subjected to various forms of sadomassichistic treatment from previous ""dentists"", I can't give these guys enough credit for the nearly painless and discomfort-free appointments I have had there. Not to mention the posh memory foam chairs and state of the art equipment. Their fees are more than reasonable as well. The only way they could improve is with a full bar. Check this place out, you won't be disappointed. more

If you are looking for a new dentist, I'd HIGHLY suggest going to Dental Salon. The staff is incredible. Appointments are always on time without a wait. The office is impeccable. It is new, clean and well kept. There are many employees there and through all of my appointments, I've found them all to be competent, friendly and helpful. I am a fairly new client and have been very happy with the service I've received thus far. I've found it very easy to get and reschedule appointments, which was a challenge with my last dentist. I also love that the wait times are very minimal, especially when I bring my 2 year old. It makes the process so much less painful for Mom! :) more

I have been going to the Dental Salon for the past couple of years. The service is really great (friendly on the phone and in person!) and the office is very clean. Like most people, I am not a big fan of going to the dentist, however, I find myself completely relaxed here and usually laugh at myself after my appointment for being so stressed out before. Last week, I saw Dr. Sam Weisz for my 6 month cleaning, xrays, check-up, etc. He was very nice and easy to talk to. The dental assistant Jeremy was also very professional and did a great job. No cavaties either, so the trip was a win-win situation!\r \r I will continue to go to the Dental Salon and I will also continue to refer friends and family looking for a great dentist in a clean, professional and friendly atmosphere.\r \r Pros: Easily accessible to public transit, friendly staff and a great view! more

After being thrilled to find that the Dental Salon was open until 8pm on weeknights AND on Saturday and Sunday, I made an appointment. While dental visits can be less than enjoyable, the Dental Salon made my visit a breeze. The staff is exceptionally kind and helpful, and the doctors made it a point to talk about other things to take your mind off of the task at hand. The location is extremely easy to get to via public transit and has a parking garage for those with a car. The office was in pristine condition, and up to date with the most modern equipment. Visited Dental Salon for the first time last week. Not only was the staff friendly, the salon itself was state of the art and had a terrific view! You will be very happy with the whole experience. It starts with the friendly reception staff and a very clean, modern environment with cool music. The appointments start on time. The dental assistant and hygenist were personable and very efficient with their tasks. Dr Lipoff was also very personable and professional. I was recommended the Dental Salon by my roommate when I was in a lot of pain because of my tooth. After going to the same dentist for the last 20 years back home in Michigan I rolled the dice and made an appointment. It was the best decision I ever made. From the girls that answer the phone and work the front desk, to the assistants, to the doctors EVERYBODY is so friendly and helpful. I ended up needing a lot of work done on my teeth. I disclosed to them that I couldn't afford everything I needed done right up front so they put together a plan for both the work that needed to be done along with a plan for payments. I did not feel an ounce of pain while getting my root canal done and will now continue to go to them for everything I need dental related. Not to mention their hours....it seems they are always open! Even when I called at 3 in the morning asking for help with the pain! Pros: personel & services Cons: a little pricey more

Visited Dental Salon after not going to a dentist for a couple years (stupid insurance) and had a pleasant, easy experience. Dr. Weistz was attentive and humored me as I complained about wanting straighter teeth and Katrina was very patient despite my inability to relax my tongue during x-rays. No cavities = great experience...and, even if I had cavities, I would have enjoyed my time at the Dental Salon. more

I live 45 miles south of the city - I woke up Sunday morning and while drinking my coffee, an old repair on my front tooth came out leaving a very visible break in my front right tooth. I was scheduled to be in Florida the next day for the whole week attending a huge conference with my client. I found Dental Salon on google after not getting any answers from my own dentist orprovider. They were able to take me in that Sunday morning and the staff was very helpful and extremely pleasant. The dentist fixed me up and did an awesome job to the point that my tooth looked as though it had never been broken at all. WHAT A SAVIOR! I would recommend Dental Salon to anyone needing emergency help or if they live in the area nearby. Definitely good people! Pros: they were open on SUNDAY! Cons: far drive for me from the far south burbs, but worth it more
