Dental Salon

I recently made the decision to find a dentist in the Chicago area after having traveled out of state for the last 3 years for my dental care. The Dental Salon was recommended by my admin asst after listening to me complain about how I hate dentists. I made an appointment with Dr. Morris and cannot say enough about the professionalism of Dr. Morris and his staff. You are greeted by a very warm and inviting environment and a smiling face behind the reception desk. After a thorough cleaning and consultation with Dr. Morris, I decided I needed to complete a root canal....what a huge stress in my life especially for someone who hates to go to the dentist and dreads to have dental work done! Dr. Morris and his staff today made all my fears and worries disappear after having the most painless and stress free experience with such a major procedure! Thanks again Dr. Morris!!!! I would recommend Dr. Morris and his staff for the worried and fearful as they make you feel comfortable and make your procedures as painfree as possible! more

I was swimming butterfly after a year's getting back in shape. I was feeling good, great, good long big strokes, not far to go, almost there...BAM! I smashed my beautiful porcelain front teeth on the ceramic tiles on the edge of the pool... on a Friday and had to leave town for a show opening Monday. I was received at Dental Salon 30 minutes later. Dr Julie Glud, took it all in stride, made a temporary 3-tooth crown which looked great at the opening, and went on a couple weeks later to restore the teeth to porcelain crowns. Dentistry ain't cheap without insurance...its mad, even. But when that is the state of things,. it is good to know your dentist really cares about your worries and takes care of it. This place is great. Everyone is so friendly and puts you at ease. Even if you hate the dentist, you will love this place! They do great work! I just had a crown done and it was quick and painless. more

This office is amazing! Everyone that works there is so nice and helpful, both my husband and I actually enjoy going to the dentist! Dr. Lipoff is great and the memory foam chairs are so comfy! Cons: None! more

On the 30th my tooth started throbbing and by midnight I could barely stand the pain. My regular dentist of 12 years couldn't get me in on the 31st so I searched Google and found the Dental Salon. They saw me right away (on New Years Eve!) and performed an emergency root canal. \r \r Dr. Morris has a great ""chair-side"" manner and a warm, friendly personality. Root canals are never painless, but I felt comfortable in his care. more

I had work done by 3 different dentists due to my work schedule and all were excellent. You feel\r as though you are being taken care of by a practice instead of one person who may go on\r vacation when you need attention.\r Also, the reception team is great in working within your dental insurance benefits, including providing\r you with the out of pocket costs upfront.\r Very good practice and beautiful office space. more

The Dental Salon has been the best experience I have had at the dentist since I was 5yrs old and got a sticker and a brand new toothbrush with every visit. The Dental Salon gives you the new toothbrushes, and Floss and Toothpaste! I'm sure if you really wanted a sticker they would get one for you too! The service here is so relaxed just from walking in the door, to meeting the friendly staff. They are all you can ask for in a dentist. Given the fact that you may already be anxious and or nervous, they work very hard to relax you and give you the best assistance and superior advice on maintaining a healthy and beautiful smile! Going on 3 years of visiting the Dental Salon and every visit is better. Very professional staff and excellent Doctors. I am not a dental expert but they seem to use the most up to date equipment and procedures. I highly recommend this office. Great location, parking is easy in the garage or a short walk from the Red line or Brown line. Pros: Location, Staff, Office. Cons: Only needing to go there every six months more

Being that the end of the year is soon approaching, I needed to get my teeth cleaned asap before my insurance benefits renewed in January. Although I did not call the Dental Salon until Friday and they were completely booked until Wednesday (when i was headed out of town), the receptionist was very accommodating. She squeezed me in on a SUNDAY (which is extremely rare for a Dentist's office to be open on a Sunday). \r \r As a returning customer, I saw Dr. Lipoff again. He is a great guy and a knowledgeable dentist. Likewise, his assistant, Ola, was extremely personable and she made my visit very comfortable. \r \r Overall, I was thoroughly pleased with my experience and I would suggest that anyone give them a try.\r Cons: If you stay longer than an hour you have to pay for parking more

Pretty much any Dentist can see you based on the comprehensive plan that is first put together for you; in the event your dentist is unavailable for a day you need to be seen. Everyone is also well versed in all aspects of the daily business, so anyone can answer questions regarding treatment plans, insurance, precautionary measures etc. etc. So besides the fact you walk into a setting more like the lounge area of your favorite spa/cocktail lounge/barber instead of your ?neighborhood Dentist office?; it really comes down to how you are treated as a human being not a person in a chair having their ?teeth? worked on.\r \r This comes from a person that is scared of the dentist; the way people fear dogs or spiders. I have been going here for a little over 2 years. I have got fillings and checkups. I have tremendously \r enjoyed the atmospher of this office. They are very accomadating. I hadnt been to the dentist since I was in college before coming here. I have had Dr. Morris and Dr. Lipoff as my dentist. Both are very professional and allow you to relax as a patient. Theyre extended hours are great. The extenstion to the office is gorgeous. Overall great staff and great environment. Pros: great hours, staff, and atmosphere Cons: not the greatest of street parking after the mourning hours, validated parking is not free..but who is anymore more

I just went to the Dental Salon yesterday for a filling and temporary crown. From the minute I stepped in the door, I relaxed. It's so calm and inviting inside. Everyone that works there is super friendly and helpful. I relaxed in the dentist chair and watched a movie on the flat screen TV on the wall. Dr. Julie Glud is possibly the friendliest person you'll ever meet. You can't help but want to be her friend! She's great about telling you step by step what she's doing. I was never anxious that she wasn't doing something right; I felt completely comfortable with her. I highly recommend going to the Dental Salon and especially making Dr. Glud your next dentist! Pros: It is a beautiful, relaxing facility. Cons: Even though you get parking validated, you still have a pay a discounted fee. more

As a physician, I can be a difficult patient. The dentist and office staff are wonderful - I can usually find a great dentist, but the staff can be horrible! I got a non-emergency appt quickly, and the return visits were easy. Dr. Glud and the assistants were very concerned about my comfort, and did everything they could to make my visits a pleasant experience.\r \r The waiting area and treatment rooms are clean, and have a great view for trying to ""zone-out"" during the procedure. The office was very pro-active in telling me the estimated costs of my visits and the repairs involved.\r \r I would absolutely recommend this practice to friends, family, and as a physician, my patients. more

I was recommended the dental salon by a couple people that I work with who love it there and I have to agree. The staff was very friendly and provided excellent service. Although I normally hate the dentist, this was a painless experience. I was very impressed that the dentist called me the next day to follow up. I will absolutely be going back and recommend their services to anyone. more

Thank goodness I found the Dental Salon. The office hours are extremely accommodating (I prefer 8 AM on Sat/Sun), the staff is friendly, the office itself is comfortable, the cleanings are quick and painless (literally) and unlike other experiences in town, I never feel like I'm being sold anything. The doc's reviews are honest and straightforward. The best experience I've had in years and I tell anyone who will listen. When moving to a new city one is faced with few challenges - finding a new hairdresser and new doctors you feel comfortable with and you can trust. I found what I was looking for in regards to a dental practice when making my first visit at Dental Salon. I would like to mention that I found out about it on Citysearch. When calling the dental office to schedule a relatively short notice appointment (within the same week) for a general check up and cleaning the receptionist was very accommodating and I was able to get an appointment on the day and the time I preferred. I was e-mailed a ""New patient questionnaire"" and was able to complete all necessary paperwork before attending my appointment. The practice is located in a new and modern office building on the 8th floor. When entering the practice, I was greeted promptly with a smile by a friendly receptionist. The practice appears very clean, it is bright and ""airy"". There are no doors to the individual treatment areas. Which allows the daylight coming through the huge window front and fill the entire practice. I was seated in a comfortable dentist chair and could enjoy a stunning and relaxing view until I met my dentist. Dr. Lipoff was great. He is very friendly and sensitive and responsive to my questions and concerns. As I had not seen a dentist for almost four years and when evaluating my x- ray results he recommended a deep cleaning of my teeth. Although, I initially did not intend to spend any ""extra money"" I understand the necessity of it for my oral health. On my second visit I also had an old silver filling replaced with a tooth colored one. It is such a great feeling to open your mouth and everything is nice and clean and white like there aren't any fillings at all. I was both impressed by the office itself as well as the service. Desk assistants were very accomodating and courteous. The hygienist was knowledgeable and skillful. My appointment was with Dr. Morris who was very attentive and patiently answered all my questions. This was my first apporintment with Dr. Morris and I dedided to switch to him as my main dentist (I've been looking for a dentist for a while). Their charges were so reasonable. Office is exceptionally clean, modern, has a spa-like feel and offers great city views. Staff is friendly and professional.
