I loved shopping at Calvin's! I bought my diamond eternity/anniversary ring there and it is so gorgeous. The service was impeccable; Katherine was friendly, knowledgeable and not in the least pushy. The merchandise is incredible and very different than many jewelry stores with top name designers and a lot of variety. I have recommended Calvin's to many friends because of the super friendly staff and the lovely candles, exquisite jewelry, beautiful store and great location. more

I recently purchased an engagement ring from Calvin's and have had nothing but the best experience.This was about our 5th different jewelry store we had been to and it was the only store with anything truly unique. On my initial visit it was only minutes into looking that their salesperson had already found several rings we liked, where we've spent upwards of 30 minutes at other stores and were consistently shown rings that we didn't like. The difference here was that our salesperson actually listened to what we said. And it was not much longer before we realized that to get what we wanted, we would have to do a custom ring. It sounded daunting and something that would be terribly expensive, however the whole process was fantastic. We were lucky enough to be able to work with Jackie, one of the owners, to design it. The process was painless and actually quite fun. We were provided with plenty of good suggestions throughout the process and opnions on all the pro's and con's of our various design decisions. I was pleastantly suprised by the quote for the custom work as well. I really felt like I was getting a great deal for the ring, nevermind it being a custom job. I just recently went to Calvin's to buy a ring for my girlfriend for Christmas. All of the people working there were so friendly and knowledgable! It was hard to pick just one ring because everything was so beautiful and the selection was excellent!! There was something there for everyone and the prices were very fair!!! They were so helpful before and after the purchase. I wasnt sure my girlfriend's exact ring size, but Calvin sized it perfectly for her and got it back to me in just one day!!! Beautiful results!!! My fiance and I went into Calvin's to see if they could reset my Grandmother's wedding band for me to use as my wedding band. Katherine Rudd was an absolute dream to work with. She spent hours with us over the course of several visits, and even after my custom ring was made, she encouraged us to make small adjustments to it to make it even more beautiful. When it was time to choose my fiance's wedding band, she made smart and honest recommendations that helped us choose a ring most appropriate to our lifestyle, and saved us money as well! On the day that our rings were ready, they presented them to us with Mimosas and genuine excitement over our wedding. They also happily steam clean my engagement ring (purchased elsewhere) every time I visit the store, as well as checking the prongs, etc. I couldn't recommend them any more highly; I know Calvin's will be our family jeweler for many happy years to come. My husband and I picked out my anniversary ring from Calvin's 8 years ago. I still get compliments on it where ever I go. ""It's lovely! Where did you find it""? is most often asked. I tell them, hands down, Calvin's has the best selection of unique designer jewelry in Austin. Their buyer has a real knack for choosing the best designers and the most beautiful pieces that I have ever seen and in all price points! Everyone is different, but I personally love having jewelry that is ""special"" and not something you see in every other store. In my opinion, that's what jewelry is all about. The Individual. After being beat up by car salesmen posing as diamond pushers at 2 local malls, my (now fiance) and I went to Calvin's, remembering that my sister had purchased her wedding ring there. To say that we were disgruntled before we walked in would be an understatement. Our salesperson Jackie greeted us warmly and asked us what we were looking for. At no time did we feel pressured or uncomfortable. She showed us rings that were in our price range and the styles that my (now fiance) liked, not the most expensive thing in the case. She was honest about their markup and had many helpful suggestions in getting the most ring for our money. We returned a few days later and purchased our favorite ring. The follow up I received after the sell was phenomenal. Jackie even called me after I had picked up the ring to ask me how everything went. After my fiance and I went to the malls to go ring shopping we were in a generally bad mood and disheartened by ring shopping and the rabid sales people at every jewelry store we walked into. On the way home that day we randomly decided to stop by Calvin's just to see what they had. Greeted with friendliness, smiles and a refreshment we have a grand time browsing and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the staff and their beautiful jewelry. We returned a few days later to make the ring purchase official and we toasted with mimosas. Calvin's isn't about the hard sell and i would never categorize them with the rabidness of the mall, they are all about the customer and making your budget and your style turn into the perfect engagement. After recovering from engagement ring sticker shock I proceeded to visit every jewelery shop I came across for the next 8 months. Every ring started to look the same and I was no closer to finding anything like my future finance described with the help of not so subtle magazine clippings. The pressure of finding a beautiful unique ring at a price Donald Trump wouldn't choke on seemed far fetched. At the recommendation from a friend I visited Calvin's and was thoroughly pleased. Every staff member that I spoke with was cheerful, helpful and understanding. About the only thing they lacked was the smug/uninterested attitude I experienced at some of the other high-end jewelry shops I visited. I chose a ring that I began to have second thoughts about and Calvin's allowed me to return it and choose a Vera Wang ring that my finance can not stop staring at. My fiance and I went to Calvin's because I had admired the engagement ring that might friend had gotten from there. We didn't have a clue about engagement rings before we went in, and my fiance was actually a little nervous. We were greeted by Calvin's sister, Kathy, who was so friendly, relaxed, and the opposite of pushy. She told us to take the time we needed to look around and get an idea of what we liked. Then she spent a lot of time with us, making us feel like she had nothing else in the world to attend to but us. My fiance bought my ring there, and it's absolutely beautiful. We also bought our wedding bands there and had the same wonderful experience then as well. We will continue to shop here and recommend it to everyone we know. Recently married (7 months ago), I am compelled to write about my (now) husband's and my experience at Calvin's. We are not a wealthy, or even well off couple and so finding a wedding ring for me was somewhat stressful. I came back here after getting an engagement ring for my fiance to get myself a wedding band. We were treated to great customer service and mimosas. They go above and beyond the norm in service (even offered to repolish my fiance's ring without us even asking). I've been looking for an engagement ring for weeks, and it had left me tired, confused and frustrated. I went to Calvin's with the idea that I might have to spend quite a bit of money (mainly from reading some of the reviews about the beautiful designer jewelry). On the contrary, I was greeted by a kind and helpful sales associate who helped me find a beautiful ring for much less that what I was expecting. I would say to make Calvin's your first stop, but the weekends seem a little busy. Pros: I was able to find something that looks much more than what I paid for. more

Much to my suprise I was not happy with the customer service that I received from Calvin's, considering all the good things I had heard from their other customers. The person that helped me told me that she was not a salesperson and was ""just helping out on the floor"", and I was pleasantly surprised because I did not want to be pushed into buying something. But then when I had questions and seeked answers I could never get a hold of the same employee that had helped me before, I did call at one point and said that I could no longer wait to talk to that person and the other person was very nice and helpful. There was no follow up on their part so I ended up buying my ring from another reputable store here in town, who had very professional employees to represent their professional businesss.
