Terrible experience. Had a special coupon they advertised on gottahalfit. Took 45 minutes for them to honor it.they sold over 200 of them and they honored it begrudgingly. Over 200 people will be very unhappy they wasted their money. I certainly am. more

WOW I have got to respond to the Glenn review.First of all I know who the guy is ,he has never eaten at my rest. because NOONE I MEAN NOONE has ever said i have small portions. Also I am not from NY I am from Boston, and I am to dam skinny to be on steroids. This Glenn gentleman is a guy that I got into a confrontation with unfortunately, and I would hope Urban spoon would recognize real reveiws not things that are just plain slanderous.Because if he has a problem with me I can live with that but he hurts all my employees who work hard to earn a living when he is nothing bit a liar,he even had to write the same review twice.thanks Chefpete. more

This has to be one of the worse restaurants in South Florida. The owner Pete thinks he is a wise guy from NY. He needs to wake up and realize he is just a delusional punk on steroids. His food is overpriced and the portions are small to boot. Ragu out of a jar would have been better. He is totally disrespectful and ignorant. If you are thinking of eating at the place, think twice.. more

My wife and I have been going to Pete's since they opened and it is one of our favoriates. If you want cheap go to Pizza Hut or an Italian takeout - if you want great food, large portions and friendly people then go to Pete's. I have sent many people there and never have had a compliant. Upscale dining at it's best. If you are cheap go elsewhere. more

Me and my husband come to south Florida in the winters. We make sure that each year we make Cafe Bella Sera one of our most frequented restaurants. The atmosphere and employees are some of the most welcoming in town. The food is incredible. From the calamari to the meatballs, this food is top notch. Would recommend Pete and his staff highly. more

Great food. Went there with my wife for our 2nd wedding anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed it. Tried their 4 course meal for $35 and added a bottle of their house wine (Cabernet Sauvignon) for only $15 more. First they brought us fried mozzarella which was delicious with marinara on the side. You can only get the fried mozzarella as part of this deal as it is not on the menu. Then we had the house salad which was a big portion shared by both of us. Then came the entrees. My wife ordered their famous meatballs (2 giant 10 oz meatballs). They were great except for the fact they were not as hot as she wouldve liked for them to be. This probably was the case because they're considered an appetizer and she ordered them as her entree and they just sat there while my fish was bring made. My dish was a chicken breast stuffed with spinach, prosciutto, cheese, and garlic on a marsala sauce. It wad huge and delicious. Finally the desert came and I ordered their rice pudding. Normally I never get rice pudding anywhere because no rice pudding can rival the one my grandma would make as a child but this one came pretty close. I would return anytime to this fine establishment. more

Cafe Bella Sera located in crappy strip mall in Parkland. Food is average at best and extremely OVERPRICED! The bread they serve you when you sit down is stale day old bread in a greasy oily sauce, that right off the bat turned me off. The hostess was a rude little snot and the owner Pete even ruder! I agree this is a cute little Italian restaurant not the Ritz Carleton charging prices like that . The waiter and busboy were very nice but everyone else working looked truly miserable including the owner who is very unfriendly and arrogant..... REALLY, get over yourself! Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen . There are a lot of others in the area with better food and prices but most importantly make you feel like a valued customer. Not to mention I did not see "Chef Pete" in the kitchen cooking one thing himself! \r \r Please do not waste your time or money! \r \r Ellen in CS more

We go to Cafe Bella Sera often. Honestly, I can not see how anyone could write a review in which they say the food is less than excellent. Yes the ingredients are the best that can be used so the price may reflect this but its the old saying you get what you pay for. Do not make excuses about the quality of the food if you are just not willing to pay for the best. Cheaper quality will be cheaper so.... go to a "fake italian restauraunt" Anyway, Pete and Patti work really hard trying to please the customers. It is a hard business and I feel lucky to have such a great place to eat in Parkland. more

I have been going to Cafe Bella Sera since it 1st opened. The food has been, and still is the best Italian food around. I feel that the prices are without a doubt in line with any other fine dining establishment and the portions are huge. \r While there is always a chance that the service could be "off" at any restaurant, the staff and service has always been top notch as far as I am concerned. I have NEVER been rushed or treated rudely. \r I am not sure where the seats located by the restrooms are, as the restrooms are "buried in the back hallway which is a considerable distance from the dining area. Furthermore, I have never sat at a table that made me feel like I wasn't part of the dining room.\r Comparing anything about this restaurant to the Macaroni Grill is like comparing a fine wine to a wine cooler .... you get what you pay for and this restaurant is well worth visiting. more

My Mom and I went to Cafe Bella Sera restaurant this evening and we were very disappointed. The food was good but it was not great and certainly not worthy of the prices for the entrees that we had (more specifically Chicken Parmagiana with no offering of a side dish of pasta). The service was not good. The waiters were running around in all directions with no sense of order and our waiter attempted to take my Mom's dinenr plate when she wasn't even finished with her meal! It also appeared to us that some of the local regulars were getting special treatment which made us feel very unwelcomed. Our money is just as good as theirs and we would have been repeat customers too if only our dining expereince wer enjoyable at fair prices. However, that being said it was not our idea of an enjoyable leisurely dining experience. The place was half empty and stayed that way until we left. So, what was the big rush? We made our displeasure known to the owner's daugther Ashley, who mans the front desk and seated us, and she took it with a nonchelant attitude. We will not go to this restaurant again. The owner Pete really needs to seriously read all these reviews and improve his restaurant's operation and lower the prices. more

My husband and I recently went to this restaurant and were very disappointed. The food was good but not great. Certainly not worthy of the prices for the entrees and desserts. The service was terrible. Rude, arrogant and impatient. We were told that we had 5 minutes to order our entree because they were expecting it to be very busy that evening. Not our idea of leisurely dining. The place was half empty and stayed that way until we left. So, what was the big hurry? What "busy"? I can now understand why the place was half empty. Believe me, we will not go to this restaurant again unless we are looking for a "fast food" restaurant. more

We went on Valentine's Day with a reservation. The place was half empty and yet we were given the worst table near the rest rooms and the clatter of dishes being washed. When we asked to change the table, we were refused, being told that the seating plan was "already mapped out." The service was rushed and arrogant even though the place was not full and people were not waiting. The food was mediocre with the chicken scarp having too much vinegar and the fusilli bolognese with steak having the steak overcooked. An American Express gift card was not honored even though the restaurant accepts American Express. We will not go to this restaurant again. more

I would like to respond to all the good reviews and the bad ones.First I would like to respond to the drink review, I do not know who the people were but to demand service and to look down on my staff that works very hard when the bar was very busy and other people were waiting before them I am just not going to allow that to happen! Ithank all the good reviews and I am sorry about the bad ones , I try to make everyone happy, but that is not going to ever happen. Everyone should work in the Rest. business at least for one month and realize that everyone that walks through your door is not always very nice and they think that you are beneath them because of how you are earning a living , but that is not the case. I try to make everyone feel like a star and try to remember everyones name especially being a local Rest.I buy the best ingredients and serve excellent food, but just like in sports you are only remembered by the last great play that you made and in the Rest. business you are only remembered by the last great meal that you prepare! more

Stopped in for a drink after a work event. There was very few people in the bar. Service was EXTREMELY poor and when addressed with the manager, she was rude and unprofessional. Definately the place to go if you wish to be treated rudely and unprofessionally while you don't enjoy a drink. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 12/11/2009

We've been going to Pete's for about 5 years and nothing compares anywhere. Those bad reviews had to have been written by jealous competitors...Anyone who has eaten here knows what I mean. The food is simply the best, portions are huge, service (especially Anthony who always serves us family style and spoils us) is fabulous. Try the linguine with white clam sauce, the meatballs and the BEST Calamari ever...We eat here at least once a week and we are never disappointed. more
