Berks Patio Furniture - best in town 7/8/2010

My husband and I set out to replace our outdoor furniture and Berks was our last stop. They have everything you could want (and more) to choose from. Our salesperson Paul was extremely helpful, patient, and most importantly --a no pressure sales guy -- he took lots of time with us, and allowed us to take our time --he gave us good and honest advice, helped us choose what was ultimately best for us and was a pleasure to chat with as well as do business with. When we had a change of heart on one of the items we ordered, both Paul and the store manager Steve went above and beyond to help us get what we wanted and make sure we were satisfied all the way around with the outcome. They are helpful, responsive and just really nice people. You don't need to go anywhere else if you are in the market for outdoor furniture and accessories -- Berks is the only place in town as far as we're concerned. Pros: Great selection and even better customer service Cons: So hard to choose! more

I was so surprised when Paul, a salesperson here, worked with me to find the best prices for replacement cushions for my patio furniture. He could have pushed what they had to sell but offered me good options instead (one was to just get slip covers made for our old cushions). As it turns out, I couldn't do that. I will be ordering from Paul soon. Very helpful! Pros: goal is to help the customer more

Fantastic assortment and impecable service 1/8/2010

I was expertly attended to by John Brown. I can't imagine getting any better service from any store. He went over and above what was necessary. I highly recommend Berk's and Mr. Brown Pros: couln't ask for more friendly, poite, and knowledgable staff Cons: absolutely none more

We had been looking around for months for quality outdoor furniture that wouldn't break our bank. Thanks to great service, we finally found it at Berk's. The furniture isn't cheap, but quality and value are great. Pros: Service, selection Cons: Expensive, but good value more

Superior Service 11/11/2009

I'm hesitant about buying anything new in this economy, however it was time to replace old outdated patio furniture. The moment I walked in I was greeted by STEVE. He was not only attentive, but unthreatening. I don't really care for sales people, but Steve was different. He patiently answered all of my questions and believe me I had a lot. There is no doubt in my mind that he knew his furniture. If you're looking to buy furniture go to BERKS in Santa Monica and ask for Steve. I've already let my friends know. Pros: Attentive Cons: Wish I had a bigger budget to spend money more

AMAZING SERVICE 11/5/2009

My husband bought me a beautiful, very large white Tucci umbrella and a Tucci hammock from PAUL BROWN at BERKS's for Mother's Day. When we later had problems with the hammock, Paul went out of his way to work with the manufacturer. (The hammock faded a lot, something that the warranty does not cover.) He managed to get us another one (with the caveat that it too would fade) outside of the warranty, which is far beyond anything we could ask for. If we ever need more outdoor furnishings, we will definitely see Paul. He has a great sense of humor (as do the other sales people), and he really takes care of his customers. Pros: COMPLETELY STAND ON CUSTOMER'S SIDE Cons: Expensive, very high quality..you get what you pay for. more

Great Selection of Patio Furniture 5/29/2009

Paul Brown has given us excellent customer service from the moment we stepped into the store. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the products that they have. Great furniture, great service, Paul Brown one of a kind 4/22/2009

Paul Brown is a sales representative at Burk's in Santa Monica. He's incredibly personable and helpful...to the point you almost wish you were buying more than what is on your (short) list. He guided us through a warranty issue from another retailer, got us taken care of, and has been a singular model in how to do it right on new furniture and custom cushions for old furniture. Saved me a lot of $$$$ 4/6/2009

I went in to Berk's to order replacement cushions for my Brown Jordan furniture, which turned out to be quite expensive. Paul told me that my pillows had another two years in them, and showed me how to clean them. With the money I saved, I was able to order the chaise replacement cushion, which also was on sale, and was told I would receive in 1-2 weeks. I'm very happy I stopped here before going to a less expensive store. Pros: Wide selection/helpful salespeople more

Excellent service 4/3/2009

My outdoor patio heater wouldn't light, and I was calling around to find someone who would service it. Two places quoted about $90 just to come out and look at. I talked to Paul, who said that Berk's doesn't service the heaters - but that I should try to troubleshoot it myself. He told me how (in less than 2 minutes!), and it worked. Great service! Great Selection and Quality - Outdoor Furniture 3/21/2009

Despite the distance, we have shopped there for several years now and have always received outstanding service. Most of the time our sales assistant has been Paul Brown and each time we go back, it seems like we're visiting an old friend. He has been very helpful in assiting with orders, providing guidance (as was the case in another review, steering us to a table and chairs that wasn't the most expensive but rather in our price range and we've been thrilled with ever since). Other store personnel have been helpful when Paul wasn't available and we always find something new to add to our outdoor collection when we visit. Great customer service 10/5/2008

Fourteen years ago I purchased Brown Jordan furniture from Berk's. Currently I am planning to downsize and will no longer have space for it. To get an idea about the market value of my used furniture, I visited Berks' . Sales person Paul Brown was very helpful, telling me the current retail value of the furniture and suggesting what would be a fair price for it. He even volunteered venues where I might advertise the furniture. Paul was tremendously helpful. more

If you want to see a beautiful selection of high-end patio furniture, I think Berk's in Santa Monica is the best place to go. And, if you want to have a salesman who's not only very nice and knowledgeable about patio furniture, but is also great at helping you figure out your needs, then you must request Paul Brown. He even talked me out of buying too much furniture, telling me I was going to crowd the area. Tell me when you've ever had a salesman do that?? He was also very honest about our choice of manufacturers, telling us that if we were looking for comfort, we didn't need to go with the most expensive. Thanks to Paul, we chose furniture that is not only beautiful, but extremely comfortable and durable. more

Stay away 3/14/2008

Yeah so I spoke with ""Paul"" regarding the availability of wood burning fire pits. OH SURE, he said we have lots of those. Then I drove an hour to get there to see them... Paul was on the phone (would not get off despite the fact he said to ""ask for him personally and he would make sure I was """"taken care of"""") then I was told by one of the back room stock guys that they don't even have wood burning fire pits. Word to the general consumer: STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS. They are only preying on perceived Westside $$$ and have no idea what the level of consumer service might be to deserve their ridiculous prices and holier than thou customer treatment... more
