ALERT if you are thinking of using BEN HUR as movers , think twice ! their customer service is really bad! During our move they ""lost"" our bed , now how can you lose a bed? but they did, to date we haven't had our claim check which is now 2.5 months since the move ! more

Love you CitySearch-but you dont verify. Check out Yelp---they filter their reviews. They check the IP address etc-cross reference things etc. 100s of fake reviews yanked from Yelp. Is this the type of business you would use to move your valuables? more

yes the time has come when we had to move from the bronx to long island for the lovely suburb life, this moving company stuck with the price they gave me, didnt pay a penny more than the estimate (even though i gave a generous tip to the moving guys) it was totally worth it because they made my move from nyc safe secure fast and affordable more

Benhur Moving was right on time for our pick-up, the movers were very professional and the most polite gentlemen we have had to move us. We chose to use an estimate from our last move 3 years ago and added a few pounds to cushion our weight and the weight from the station came out less so with that we were quite pleased. That I even had to put a rating for this post killed me!!! They deserve MINUS stars!!! Buyer beware with this company!!!! Suppose to show up at 9:00 am sharp, three guys eventually showed up 1.5 hours late, no tools, no nothing, took 13 hours to move a 2bdrm apartment the distance of 10 blocks, busted almost all my furniture, one guy up and quit in the middle of the move!!! We had to pack both bedrooms and the ktichen (which they were contracted to do), move the boxes, move our own refridgerator because they simply couldnt do it only after it was dragged across the floor, they duct taped my leather couch and ruined it when they took the tape off, my entertainment center was also dragged on the concrete, they broke my daughter's armoire when they attempted to take it apart. We had to disassemble and assemble all of our furniture. This was all in the contract for them to do. I have been getting the run around on the phone with them for three weeks!!! Ive been hung up on, put on hold, lied to and to top it off insulted, more than once!!..... So now Im off to small claims court I go to get reimbursed by these crooks!!! DONT USE THEM you've been warned! more

I found a new apartment in the city when I found a job there. I knew that I would need help moving. I asked some friends if they new a good moving company that I could use. They referred me to here. I read some of the reviews online and they were mixed. I decided to give them a chance anyway. There was a four man crew that seemed to be capable of doing the job. My furniture was handled carefully and protected for damage. We ended up with minor damage to one of the hall walls. I think the job that was done was sufficient. more
