Appointment 10/15/2012

I had a horrible experience with this company. First the receptionist put me on hold for a long time. Then once I finally made the appointment they told me a two hour window. Fine. The said that they would call to let me know when they would be coming. 3 PM was the end of the window. 3:06 PM no call and no technician. When I called them to ask where the technician was they told me that they were running late. I asked Steve the dispatcher would it have been nice to call and let me know that you all were running late. No response. He then told me that I was next on the list. When I asked him what that meant whether 5 min, 10 min, 30 min he said that they were running an hour behind. I again asked him if he thought that a call should have been made to let us know. When I asked Steve if that was his house and the repair man was late should he have to pay and he said absolutely. I told him not to bother coming. Totally disgusted by the treatment I received. Unacceptable customer service. Did I mention this was for an appointment. Glad I found out about them before they did any work. I will definitely not be using this company. RESPONSE FROM Bell Plumbing & Heating Co: I personally looked into this issue, and I regret to say that the customer is absolutely correct. At Bell, we maintain a 97 on-time rate - exceptional for our industry. However, on the date of this customer's call we were well behind schedule as many customers asked us to do additional tasks once we arrived at the home. To make matters worse, the Steve referred to in the review is not one of our regular dispatchers. Our primary dispatcher called in sick that day and Steve volunteered to help out. Dispatching 35 techs can be a very stressful job when it's exceptionally busy, and Steve a) didn't call the customer when it was apparent the job schedule was in jeopardy; and b) let the stress get to him and didn't emphasize with the customer's position as he should have. In all fairness, Steve was doing us a favor and I'm to blame for putting him in that position without better training. I called the customer, apologized and explained everything. excellent service in all regards 10/12/2012

Doug Livingston is skilled in diagnosis of our air vent problem, serviced and tuned up our boiler; and, while in the boiler room noticed a slowly dripping pipe and fixed that before it became a bad leak. He also did a plumbing and drain safety inspection for us. Very helpful ... and, as are all the people from Bell, nice and welcome in our home. more

The person who came to service my furnace/AC was polite, completed the work in a timely manner and took the time to explain a couple of things to me in layman's language. If I still own the property next year, I will call Bell again. more

A Long Time Satisfied Customer - 9/18/2012

I have lived in the Denver area for over 60 years and knew the excellent reputation of this company because my parents and grandparents would only call Bell Plumbing and Heating for all of their plumbing needs! Quick, competent service is the highlight of this company. In the past 5 years I have had Bell install a new hot water heater, install a new furnace, and work on any of the other "small" plumbing jobs to my COMPLETE SATISFACTION! more

Price was very high. Service was good, but not exceptional and not good enough to justify the price. Excellent installation in tight space 8/16/2012

The old water heater was removed with difficulty due to tight space, and new one installed, also a difficult installation due to the tight space. All work was done professionally and efficiently, and took longer than expected, without complaint! more

The service man that comes to my house is excellent but the process of getting an appointment to get him here is very frustrating 8/10/2012

I am reviewing just my experience of trying to get a particulat plumber that I have found to do excellent work in the past out here to my house on a service call. I called the end of July and was connected to a voice mail. The person was supposed to be back in the office according to the dates on her voice mail but apparently she didn't make it back to work when she had thought she would at the time she made her voice mail. I never received a call back so I called a week or so later and got a very nice man that said I would be contacted within a half hour with details of setting up an appointment. I wasn't. Now I am sitting here at 7:00 A.M. and no one will answer the phone till at least 8 or 9 I guess. That is very inconsiderate as I do still have to go to work and I have no idea if my sink, toilet and tub will be fixed today, and if so what time. So do i go on to work or take off and wait to hopefully get an answer about if I can get a plumber out here today or not. How is that anyway to run a business? If it weren't that the plumber I have asked for does such a very good job and really tries to provide good customer service I would never use Bell Plumbing. You've been a great customer of ours since 2005 and I know you always want Glen to be your guy. Unfortunately, he's been out with a serious medical condition for the past 4 months (although he's now recovering well and he should be back with us next month!). What concerns me most about your review is that calls weren't returned (do you know by chance who you left the message with?) and the idea that nobody would be here until 8AM. We have Bell employees manning the phones 24/7 (we don't use answering services - only our own employees), and every employee here is trained to take service calls. I will look into this immediately to see if we have a breakdown in our processes. Hot Water Heater 7/6/2012

I thought I needed a new hot water heater due to water around the bottom. When Chuck Watts came he showed me that it was the valve that needed replacement not the whole unit. I would recommend Bell Plumbing to anyone that needed service. more

Service repair individual communicated well regarding scope of repair and estimated cost. He completed the job in a quick and efficient manner and left the area clean and without any sign of disturbance. He was cordial and answered questions in a manner that was easily understood.
