A charming little spot with a diverse menu, but I usually stick to the basics. Good breakfast tacos and deep fried appetizers. Lots of cool maps all over the walls. more

WORST FOOD EVER! 12/5/2011

this has to be the worst restaurant i have ever eaten at in austin. the corn tortillas were hard as a brick, i ordered the pork chops and they were burnt and had no flavor what so ever. they also advertise them as 1/4 lb. each and they were not at all they were really really small and skinny. the guacamole as black not green, and the hamburger gave me indegestion and was also somewhat burnt paddie. I WOULD NOT recommend anyone to eat here ever! I WENT DIRECTLY TO WALMART TO PURCHASE ALKAZELTERS IT WAS SO BAD! Pros: null Cons: null more

We live close to this place and enjoy coming here when we want a quiet, low-lit environment in a restaurant with good food and a good beer selection. We get the chicken pot pie and quiche. They're open late, and the food is underated. Good and local! more

Very good experiences 6/23/2011

I'm always cautious when I peruse a menu and I see everything from cous cous to tuna steaks. That is my first clue to keep it simple. That is what I do here and I have had very good experiences every time I have been here. I have been here probably ten times in my six years in Austin and I have had a pleasant experience each off those. The service is def S. Austin and a tad slow, the waitresses are cool and will chat, and the prices are right. I think I keep coming back because they serve food til midnight and have a great burger and an epic chef salad. Their french fries are stupendous and they serve a great horseradish sauce to dip them in. A half order is all you need. Trust. The decor is quirky as all get out. There are globes and maps and weird paintings all over the place kinda giving the place a twilight zone feel. I'm okay with it. When I go there at 11 P.M. to get a burger, I'm halfway in the Twilight Zone already. more
